I haven't gone thru the back pages, so maybe already suggested...

There is a compromise that could be framed in a manner that the politicians could resolve within their existing mindset (or brainwashing as the case may be)... Allow for pat/cg grows, but license aand code and inspect like any other commercial operation a dip would operate. If u wanted to really bend, require all pat/cg grows to take place in commercially zoned areas, again open to licensing fee, regulation, inspection, code, the whole works. This could even be further restricted where those meds couldn't be sold to dips, or that dips weren't allowed to buy... Only for the pat/cg.

The last part really socks balls, but would fit in with the dip agenda and might make it more palatable to them. The licensing/coding would make it 'safe' under state guidelines, and an additional revenue stream. It would also preserve and protect a pats right to safe, affordable, highly specialized meds... That would be superior (and cheaper) than the dips.

Ud be cutting off the left arm to save the right, but better than no arm at all.

Well, yes, you could kneel down and kiss their rings, or, you could continue growing illegally like many of us have for years and years and undercut those frickin dips.

I, for instance, cant grow illegaly. I am genuinely sick and regardless of the stupidity of the reason for which us growing became illegal I just am not willing to live with that degree of stress in my life. If (...when) this self serving crap of a bill becomes a law I will either have to stop or move. I do understand that I dont represent a majority though.

Sorry to hear that Anteah.

I just don't think most sick people can afford to rent a commercial location and pay for all the needed permits as was suggested by MIway. That's all I was getting at.

I hope it works out for all the patients in NV.:)

This legislative session's time is quickly running out. I sent another e-mail to Tick today and sent one to all of the members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee in case they get the bill. Now's the time for an extra push against this bill as I hear Tick is feeling bad about all the negative calls, letters and e-mails he's been getting. Right now this bill is still sitting in the Senate Finance committee and there are no Assembly Judiciary Committee meetings scheduled AND there is a real bottleneck of other bills waiting to be heard. We ain't dead yet...so we gotta keep squeekin!

Please e-mail and call to educate Tick and the Assembly Judiciary Committee (the next committee the bill would have to pass) on the reasons you need to grow your own. That's the only way this thing doesn't get greased through. If we don't educate them and get them asking informed questions, Tick will educate them for us, according to his biased agenda and limited knowledge.

I did same.. I hope it's enough. Something tells me its not though. I tried to ask for help here to get a petition going where people can just sign it and the letter will be sent to everyone on Judiciary Committee, but I haven't seen any response. I honestly think we need to overwhelm their servers with our emails and the only way we can do it is if we do a petition. Many more people will sign. My issue with the letter is I am a foreign girl and I can't write as effectively as you guys can, and so my letter just wont get the same reponse as if it was written by a native speaker.

Resinryder, MangoCat, what do you gys think? Could you help? I know you said they don't read email, but they don't need to really read it, they just need to see a sheer numbers of the same petition being sent to them to feel the gravity of the issue. Regardless of that though I feel that it should be written by someone who actually speaks English ;). Just so we don't look like fools.

What do you think, should we try? Again, I can do all the leg work of setting it up, but someone would have to help with the petition text writing.

Here's the deal with starting a petition here. i don't know you, you don't know me,
I don't know mangocat. I know a lot of the people personally on this board. I'm not interested in putting my name on a petition and you knowing my real identity. It's nothing personal, just the way it is. Sorry. They already know my stance and will again if and when there is another hearing.
I'm not saying a petition is a bad idea, but by the time it's all set, signed, and done, they could have another hearing on it by Thursday making it ineffective.
And your right about the email, large volumes make a difference whither they read them or not.

Oh and I did hear first thing Friday morning after the hearing , that people in and around vegas are now hearing that the state is trying to take away our right to grow the plant. Damn if I know how they found out as there was no one else at the hearing but they did and have been sending emails and making calls. every one helps at this point.
Biggest thig they need to hear at this point is this---
Shut down my ability to grow I turn in my card. You lose my yearly registration fee, dispensary loses my money, states loses all the way around when I return to the black market again.

I see your point.. Well, I don't know can we all use aliases? I don't think names being real is that important here. I think it's just that a message is sent to them every time someone desides to click "Sign", even if they called themselves Joe Shmoe. I doubt they will look at the names either.

About how long it will take to set up, I'd say in one evening. I could do it now if I'd have a letter. It doesnt ahve to be long either. It just must be effectively put together. I tend to be verbose and never know how to say something in the best way. Like I said it's not my language.

If we work fast and ask everyone to share it on their Facebook and/or send it to all their friends by email or what have you we could have a few hundred signatures. But I get it if you think it's not the way to go. I just don't know what else to do. Hate feeling like a sitting duck.

Not enough time to get a petition up and running. You need to pepper Tick Segerblom and the Assembly Judiciary Committee with e-mails and phone calls and tell them your personal reasons of why you need to keep growing your own meds. They DO read emails and will respond, especially if you sign with your Nevada address so they know you're real.
I know the people down in Las Vegas are hip to the no-grow amendment because they've read the bill and have been following it just like we have. There are a lot of peeps upset over this dumb ass bill who are calling and writing.
Write Write Write Emails and don't stop writing Tick Segerblom and the all members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee. They are the next up to potentially vote on this mess (if it gets to them and doesn't die, hope hope). Wiki Wiki!

Tell ya someone else that's going to be hurt if this takes effect.
Hydro stores. Once these big dispensaries get up and running, they will buy direst from the suppliers cutting out the middle man. Hydro stores will lose a big portion of their customers and the ones that are left will have to put up with leo writing the plate numbers down while they shop in the stores. Will sure make it easier for leo.

That is indeed good news. Hope it isn't just lip service. I'm sure the fact the the Senate Finance Committee hasn't taken action on the bill yet has him a bit concerned as well.

That asshole Hutchison put it in there and I think he did it behind Ticks back as when asked about it in the Hearing he looked totally confused by it when it was asked about. Hutchinson put it there strictly for Metro.

Wow! That's good news! Better then silence. Better than some bullshit cookie cutter response about how its for our own protection or something equally as patronizing. Agreed, could be just lip service, but hope dies last.

They have to weigh the very real costs of making criminals out of people who have been growing legally and peacefully for years. Everybody I know has been pretty openly adamant that they won't stop growing if this passes. Too late to put the genie back in the bottle as everybody has learned to grow their own meds better and much cheaper than commercial dispensary weed.
I think they are seeing how this will be legally challenged too, which costs them money. How in the hell do they think they can force you go to a store and buy something that you can make for yourself at home for your own consumption at home. That seems like a bigger crime against society than growing a little pot for your backache. This is Nevada! We're suppose to be free!
Oh and Resin, I agree, I think Tick is trying to be a good guy here. We WILL SEE, won't we.

They call us The Battle Born State for a reason. That's because the citizens have to fight for every fucking thing we get or wish to hang onto cause those in positions of power are continuously trying to take it away by hook or crook!!! lol

Oh hey, almost forgot. I got the email from Segerblom today about them working to change the bill to allow patients to continue to grow their own.
I hope his email account blows up with these disgruntled patients voicing their displeasure with the change to the law.

if the current bill passes I wont renew I will go back to growing underground. no way in hell I will pay 400 an ounce I wouldn't even think of charging that if it was legal to sell 250 more like it

I'll just keep my old registry paper work in case I get wacked lol then hope for the best, worst would be approx 1 yr probation :tiphat:

Holly crappers Resin, that would be the best case scenario. I was just hoping for the bill to get stuck somewhere and not pass this legislative season, but this would actually be them thinking and working! Can we really get that lucky? Crossing all my fingers!!
