334,000W running on Aptus nutrients

many different cuts of GSC out there...the real deal is called thin mint and hardest to get...but forum, platinum are the most common 2 out there, and then a ton of s1s, hybrids, and straight fakes out there too..

I THINK I JUST GOT THE THIN MINT CUT BUT WHO KNOW I WILL LET YOU KNOW IN 10 WEEKS IF ITS THE REAL DEAL

i have gone through your entire thread in the past few weeks but i cant recall...

do you strip your plants of their fan leaves? from the photos it looks like you definitely do and ive heard mixed reviews from this so im very curious on whether or not to do this.

if it is beneficial, at what stages of the grow cycle should i start and how often should i pluck them without inducing too much shock.

thanks

IVE TRIMMED HEAVY TRIMMER LIGHT AND NOT TRIMMED AND FOR SURE THAT TRIMMING LIGHT WORKS YOU JUST HAVE TO DO IT AT THE RIGHT TIME AND WHEN LIGHTS JUST COME ON SO IT HAS A GOOD AMOUNT OF LIGHT STILL LEFT BEFORE THEY GO OFF

KEY IS NOT TO DO TO MANY I WOULD SAY 5-8 LEAVES MAXIMUM UNLESS YOU HAVE A VERY LEAFY STRAIN

Hey Dutch,

Love your dedication and consistency. That's what it's all about!

Quick Q:

Have you ever used pond liner to protect floors? I'm going to have to use it in my next project and was looking for any tips on sealing pieces together in the middle of the room. I don't remember seeing it in any of your posts, but though you might have had experience with it in the past.

Anyone else know anything about this?

Personally I never have but I have seen it in quite a few rooms and I'm sure its easy to clean

Thanks bro

Thanks for the response!

I figured it out in case anyone else is interested.. Firestone makes a 3" splice seam tape that you simply lay down on one side and overlap by 3" then apply pressure with a rolling pin or other cylindrical shaped item.

Gonna give it a go in a few weeks, but damn pond liner is not cheap!

Dutch, how do you extend your ballast power cords to reach the timer? Do you DIY splice with extensions, or do you just run the electrical close to the ballasts so there's no need? I've always been curious when I see you guys hanging ballasts from the ceiling.. Doesn't that also make it difficult to swap one out mid flower if you have a malfunction? I just hang them on the wall next to each light, that way I can unplug them manually if I need to turn off an individual light. I'm curious as to the philosophy behind the celing hang (aside from aesthetics).

Dutch you have some very nice organized, clean rooms going. Very nice to see. 1 question for you on how you cut your plants. I am on a small screen but do you just let the main shoot grow and 1 or 2 branches so the plant does not bush out? I am trying differant methods and lst and scrog are just a pain for me, curious how you are cutting your plants. Thanks dutch keep doing what you are doing and will be calling aptus this next week, the amount of nute you use to me would be a benifit less is more if you can find it.

Hi Dutch epic grows thanks for all the great info. I may look into aptus as a foliar feed as I run a recirculating system. Hoping you can explain the numbers you run in your environment eg.

CO2:
Temp:
RH:

Lights Off
CO2:
Temp:
RH:

And do these numbers vary during lights off?

First and foremost, this thread is epic! A whole lot of cookies in your op will be obscene!! Always love to see these massive grows and hear about the complex mechanics of making them work. Thanks for sharing yours.
At the beginning of the thread I really didn't like you because of how your tone came across, but about half way through you explained your position and I began to appreciate your sense of humour, you grew on me lol ;) Will definitely subscribe to the thread and watch the progress of your new build, should be equally monstrose! I have the videos you posted buffered to watch when I get a moment :D

I must urge you to re-read this post by NPKali, he makes an enormous amount of sense and asks very pertinent questions that I believe warrant similar answers (rather than a comment about him getting his google on which shifts focus from what was asked), I've quoted it here for your perusal, please attempt to remain objective as I am truly interested in what you have to say in response (You obviously know more about aptus than we do, having used them for 6 years, they're cutting edge for most):

Different classes of PGR exist. Daminozide and Paclobutrazol are two examples of toxic PGR's we are all familiar with.
The classes of PGR's are as follows

Auxins - Shoot elongation
Gibberellins - Stimulate cell division and shoot elongation.
Cytokinins - Stimulate cell division
Ethylene Generators - Ripening
Growth Inhibitors - Stops growth
Growth Retardants - Slows growth

Your results are very impressive Jack/Dutch Touch and I have upmost respect for you both. What I suspect is that inside the Aptus bottles are a potent mixture of cutting edge PGR's like BAP, Abscisic Acid, Carboxymethyl-Chitosan, and a few others. Probably ethylene as well.
Along with medigo sativa(alfalfa), ascophyllum nodosum(Kelp), Chelated metal ions, and root stimulators, most likely a PGR too.

By no means am I poo-pooing Aptus or insinuating each of your impressive achievements and successes are associated solely to Aptus products. Quite the contrary, the "nutes" don't make the man. But I am in agreement with Architect here, although his delivery may have put you off his point should have been received. What I heard him say is how is it 2 highly intelligent and skilled individuals, such as yourselves, cannot explain what components make Aptus successful and instead meet any inquiry with cryptic and uninformative responses?

If they contain mineral salts they can only concentrate so much salt

With all due respect Jack if you are indeed serious about your assertion regarding discontinuing use if PGR's are present in Aptus bottles, it should be a priority for you to find out. If its not your responsibility to know this, or find out, then who's is it? You must have a negative preconceived notion about PGR's to make such a statement.

I understand Architects point. For $30USD I can make 208L of bloom booster @ 1:500 dilution with all the accoutrements i.e. PGR's, amino acids, etc..
In all seriousness the question is; what ingredient(s) justifies the price? And if you know what is in it, then why not make it yourselves?

Great work gentlemen, Respect.

Hi Bud

I just buy longer power cords from my buddies hydro store and I have my light controller in the center of the room.

If one goes out during flower I just move my tables they are all on wheels.

I recommend solitek ballasts I have had great success with these my quantums are always screwing up.

Im going to try Gavitas or that new philips light next.

I will update my pictures soon on my new op we got delayed by the city but we will be back on track hopefully next week

Cheers:woohoo:

Hey man

I basically create a imaginary line and anything than rises above it gets topped and made into a clone. I prune in a way that gives me the 3 main arms and they become stronger and stronger

That scrog is a pain in the ass but if you have the time to do it then its the best I just dont have that time and I like to move plants around

Respect!

Hey thanks and I apologize for my attitude earlier in the thread and hope things are now going in the right direction.

As for the Npkali's post my only response is if it was so easy to make bloom boost for 30 bucks then why are other nutrient company in the world doing it or even Npkali himself?

There are no salts in Aptus only in Mass boost I have drilled these guys at the show and called them a bunch of times try to see if they say anything different. I can honestly say I have never seen and salt build up or residue anywhere since using Aptus. They have something different and because everyone only knows salt based regiments everyone thinks Aptus is the same. till you try it then you will never know.

If there are PGR's in then they would be found pretty quickly by the EPA or government bodies especially here in CA they are really clamping down on PGR's

If products are so easy to make and i'm speaking not just about Aptus here, but about any products t,hen why do we all still buy our nutes from Hydro stores?

If I could make them and save money I would but My ops are to big to make that gamble and experiments cost money. I'm with you guys if you know how to make them but something tells me its not so easy

I would love for all you guys to just try flora nova and Aptus in veg and make your decisions off that and I think you will find that all you guys will like it. I was the most weary grower out there till I tried it.

I,m willing to help any of you guys achieve your goals if i can but its pretty hard doing it online but not impossible.

I really respect all the comments on here and would like to thank you all for your input

I'm running cookies on one table right now so I will post those results up too

Thanks man!:tiphat::thank you:

hahahahahahahha

I would need a coach load of hand trimmers and it takes to long. trust me if I could hang dry it and hand trim I would its the best way and the only way but It screws up my cycles

Twister all the way

If I lived in the US I would love to send some aptus products to a lab for analysis, sadly I'm on the other side of the globe with no access to any of their offerings.
I just can't for the life of me figure out what the ingredients might consist of to achieve the results they seem to be achieving if not PGR's. Anyway, I believe I'm flogging a dead horse and nothing other than proper analysis by a qualified professional can resolve this, in time I'm sure someone will shed light on this.

Thanks for the response, and for the humility required to apologise for coming across as you did, I respect you all the more for that, a lot of large growers get caught up boasing about the size of their nutsacks and such:laughing:

Bless:thank you:
