co2 oil

I'm reviving this thread with some legit information. I own a CO2 extraction facility on the West Coast.

Here is my setup.

Here we are filtering waxes out and distilling off our ethanol used for winterizing.

Thanks for sharing bro! Purdy setup and nice looking product!

If that is the ~1200 psi, you definitely have my attention.

I see a vacuum flask for a boiling flask. Are you running the ethanol recovery still under vacuum?

Exactly, we distill under vacuum to allow for much faster and lower temperature distillation. For extraction, we have run the entire gamut. From 40 deg to 100+ deg co2, 800 psi to over 4k psi...

The oil pictured was from cannatonic and remedy, two CBD rich strains. It tested at 54% CBD 36% THC and was extracted around 1200 psi.

looks like one of the smaller ksfab units. I keep on looking this way, it seems to make sense. Start up would be a little spendy, but it the long run it would really work nice. A friend of mine in CO makes A LOT of AA out of CO2 extractions ... and says he pulls a ton of wax in his filter. Do you notice this type of system pulling a lot of wax?

I'd love to hear the variable you have found to work well on this unit :tiphat:

can get a raw product from co2 extraction or do have to dissolve and winterize it?
im sorry if that doesnt make much sense ,like i said first co2 setup ive ever seen.
you are definitely providing top quality medicine to the patients!

This is the raw co2 oil direct from the extractor...

HAHAHAH thats AWESOME DB! Looks like a sick raccoon was trapped in a washing machine after a really rough night of drinking and Taco Bell. But it suuuuuuure comes out nice after the winterization. Kudos !!

Rt on ... looks like what I thought, the co2 makes a lot of wax. What % of wax comes outta that last dish? Kinda curious on your mods of the system ... maybe at least an idea of additional cost?

thanks for sharing

EDIT: Forgot the wax question... I have seen as low as 8% and as high as 30% waxes removed during winterization.

We've made a bunch of changes to the flow on the low pressure side of the extractor and added a couple filters. We are trying to prevent oil from recirculating into the pneumatic gas booster that recycles the CO2 around. Maybe $2000 in parts for the changes.
