No matter how great I think my yield is going to be, it always end up being about .75-.8. I've not been at it that long and considering I was told not to expect more than .5 when I started I'm ok with what I yield. More would be nice....I think co2 enrichment is in my future and maybe I will find my increase with that upgrade.

yeah^

good pro's and cons being weighed in here...Been thinking alot about that myself lately...

the one thing that i don't like about vert is the plants still want to grow upwards, and i know this can be overcome and managed (no disrespect to anyone who trains plants properly..) but i follow the plants in terms of what they want and in vert it seems like alot of wasted energy trying to force em sideways...

I hear ya Mr Clean! Im gonna end up sacrificing a little bit of yield per light going back to horizontal..but the pros (for me) just outweighed the cons. I fell in love with the look of a high plant count sog and the fat colas that are so easy to trim come harvest. Plus the turnaround after harvey with this new system is just a breeze.

But with runs under the belt and finding the right strain i think i can achieve some good numbers.

Well .,, I moved the vert system out and its now at a friends house full of veg plants in soil.. what a sight to see! He's got plants filled in all walls and on the floor getting ready for his indoor room and some going outdoor. He loves it!

The 2nd sog room build is now underway. I went with the Orca film thanks to Bldwst, and Mr D's advice. I also just ordered 2 adjusta wings. I bought the large ones, but am gonna run a 600 on one side and a 1000 on the other to compare. (i imagine a 600 should be fine in a large adjust a wing?)

heres some pics

Lol what is the vert forum gonna do with some of its leaders switching over to horizontal... I'm interested to see who the new cats are gonna be trying to fill our shoes... Or will they take sound advice and go for the simplicity of horizontal growing? Time will tell. :)

You won't see me buying more reflectors anytime in the foreseeable future  In fact i'll probably sell my blockbusters....... Not impressed :moon:

Lol...no worries... I'll get back to vert at some point because i know its potential. But what i have in mind for my next vertical endeavor is going to take a few bucks. Just wait till ya see what i come up with! Especially from what iv'e learned running this last v setup.

So for now i just need to pump out some product to get my finances in order. Don't hate me!!

No Hatin Bro.......Nobody ever said Vertical setups were/are easy......Just that once dialed , they`re unsurpassed in production potential with all the right elements put together for optimum results....

From the get I`ve ALWAYS said flood tables and flat setups were the easiest way to learn howta dial setups , environment , and strains........

Do what works for you my buddy.....Only the strong survive down here.....and....

It ain`t easy bein cheesy........Some get it......most don`t......at least we know you get it FHC , and you`lll be back dialin vert before yas know it.....but if flood tables brings home da bacon easier , then it ain`t rocket science huh ?......Regardless......

Plant numbers dictate yield.......horizontally or vertically....once dialed.....period.....

Peace.....Freds.....:ying:.....

Vert mother hunt with the top shelf of front down.about to be trellis'd After motherhunt round, then monocrop. I like vert better except for accessibilty but i am still working on my rack system tht will be in a bigger room and easier to dial. I had temp probs in this one at first till i just got it it's own AC unit. No probs anymore and we are on day 20 of 12/12.

I will prob never return to horizontal.

Peace!

You'll see no hating from me brother . Got to do what makes the most sense for you (those aero tables are damn sexy loaded up with colas). Can't wait to see what you come with next, you've definitely got the build skills to pull off something crazy :peacock:.

copied from my inquiry in plant problems. Maybe my vert pals can help me figure this out.

plants severly wilting after 12/12 light cycle.

These aero clones are 6-12 inches tall and have a nice root system.
They were vigirous and happy under 24hr t-5s.

2 days ago i moved them to the sealed flowering room under the 1k with the adjusta wing as high as it will go (3.5ft above) The room is running at 78-82deg with the mini split. I set the co2 low to start at 800ppm. humidity is 40-50%.

This is the 2nd day that i noticed they have a severe wilt by the end of the 12/12 light cycle? They perk back up overnight..but again after the light cycle they get that severe wilt and look terrible.

Im not new and have lots of experience. Ive grown this strain for 4 years, and never seen this before?

My first thought was shock? But i never seen this happen before?

Lumen shock and lack of adequate humidity by lights out comes to mind since they perk back up with elevated lights off raised humidity levels...but...

X can be anything my buddy when doin different things and such different setups , even with strains/varieties yas`ve run for long enough where yas THINK yas know em......regardless....

Keep us updated....Hope it`s nothing serious...

I was talkin to a friend. I mentioned that i had been treating them with avid while in veg. (for a few mites i found) (dipping them) every 5 days ...3 treatments.

He thought it could be that the plants were being suffocated from the treatment because i never gave the plants a plain water wash afterwards? Could that be the case?

But they looked fine in veg without the wash? maybe the high lumen, co2 filled room in flower is pushing the plants and some of their stomata are clogged.

Dude something crazy like this happened to me a few years ago when I used to run my vert flooded tubes.

I tried tons and tons of stuff...

Look at your roots first man. ALWAYS check your roots first in anything hydro.

Sounds maybe like pythium or some sort of root issue.

Now for me I ran through 300 different clones trying to figure it out. Cleaned the system with bleach multiple times and never could figure out what was wrong. Finally I tossed the system and built a new one and the problem was solved.

A couple of thoughts....

1) I would bet money its not the azamax/chems thing. Just doesn't make any sense.
2) Always turn off co2 when something is wrong. Co2 puts your plants metabolism in overdrive and if something is wrong it will just speed up the process.
3) Check roots. If coloring or feel is off or they are slimey thats bad news.
4) If something is wrong turn down your lights. Same basic idea as co2.
5) Possible offgassing? When things go bad quickly in aero and its not the roots or anything else obvious always look to offgassing.

More information and pics of plants and roots would help a lot.
Best of luck.
