I have many of these in my backyard. They like to chill on my screen door. For sure they are lacewings.

Would it be worth snagging a few and throwing them in some rooms?
Would a predator bug like that carry bad guys on him? Common sense says no, but I had to ask before I tried this. They are cool little dudes thats for sure. Figured Id try, but have to ask the folks who also use predator bugs.

haha about oil heads. don't know about lacewigs but it sounds interesting. A few of them flew out of some vermicompost I got at my friends farm. Keep posted!

I am trying to get these in my rooms to control leaf hoppers. I started a thread on it in the organic soil forum.

Broad mites sometimes hitch a ride on white fly, dunno about lacewings?

It is the lacewing larva that munch up the pests, they are known as aphid lions!

oh, hmmm so its not the cool green little guys i have around, adults are what i have around in backyard. I suppose i can grab a few and throw on some barry white in one of the rooms.

About hitching a ride. I dont think so logically thinking about it. Wouldnt they just snack on them? But that was my main concern about grabbing a few of these adults.

Maybe throw a couple in and hope they lay eggs then you will get the aphid lions... What pest are you trying to fight?

Nothing significant. Preventive type thing. I see them daily so I figured I should give them a go. In fact, by my comp theres a screen for the window. They are on the screen as we chat lol. Cool wings.
