Do you have any sort of light leak? Some of you're cola's look off, like a few of mine did once when i had a light leak. Got stretched out cola's with strange single bladed leaves running all the way up, although some grew normally. The one's that had the single bladed leaves never bulked up like they should have...

i think your canopy looks fine, some growers level everything off before switching to flower, i let the side buds overflow not like they are blocking light anway, but your canopy looks very healthy to say the least these bud should last you a while !

My dehumidifier's LCD screen turns on and emitts a rather strong light. I never noticed before because it's on a timer. The LCD screen is right under the left side of the screen, under the group of tall branches.

Holy shit. Could this have been enough to prevent a proper night cycle?

Anything other than pitch black darkness is going to really delay flowering, especially ripening. I knew you had a leak when I looked closer at some older pics, those cola's look like they are trying to revert back to veg.

I had this same stuff up on a Arjans Haze #3 grow I was really excited about....they wouldnt ripen in the end even after I fixed the leak, ended up tossing them in the trash, wouldn't even bother using it for hash....

If you're going to grow on like a champion, I would recommend looking for boy parts in there....light leaks will do that too.

I feel for you dude, such an easy mistake to make....

I'm surprised. Plants that grow outside can't spend their nights in total dark all the time, surely? What about moonlight?

Clearly my buds are ripening since I've been following the trichs and they're growing.

I remember now there was a towel on top of the dehumidifier, which blocked the light. I took it out 3 days ago.

Hopefully those 3 days won't be enough to ruin everything.

3 days of recent light exposure wouldnt be enough to cause the reveging that I'm seeing, is it possible at all that a dull glow was coming from it the entire time? My light leak was about 2mm big and was not even direct light

I used to wonder about outdoor plants too, I think all is relative to what light intensity the plant receives during the day cycle. So say an outdoor plant wont be bothered by the light at night because the suns light is so extremely intense and theres such a big difference. But indoors we use much lower powered lights than the sun, so the difference is much less....

That's just my theory anyway, I'm sure there's plenty more!

No, not the entire time. That is certain.

I put the dehumidifier in 3 weeks ago, so at worse it's been 3 weeks of possible exposure, but I remember putting a towel on top of the LCD control screen to prevent light leaks. It had become damp so I took it out for washing but forgot to replace it. This was about 10 days ago at worse.

I've just checked my books and apparently moonlight CAN and DOES affect flowering. Many cannabis plants outdoor display hermie signs, apparently.

The good news is that good genetics are supposedly capable of handling a little light stress, and I checked all 47 branches coming out of the net for signs of male flowers and nothing so far, so hopefully the crisis was averted.

I should probably send you a sample when I harvest if all goes well for catching that!

Now that the leak is removed she should power on, 10 days isn't too much in the grand scheme of things. The worst thing that will come out of it is that you will probably always wonder if it could have been just that tiny bit better. I know I always do!

Well, between that leak and the nute burn a few weeks ago, this grow went very far from perfect, but I suppose it was wishful thinking to hope for a flawless first grow.

Serious says 70-90 days to maturity, I'm 12 days from 70. So technically I COULD flower for another 32 days. Did you ever grow Kali before? How long did it take before harvest?

Definitely would not stress at all for you're first grow, many could only wish they had done as well for their first attempt!

The Kali mist pheno in my current grow I have never grown out myself before, but my friend has run it for 12 years and tells me to expect 100 days to maturity, or around 110 days for what he would call the perfect harvest time. Mine is a pre-2000 cut though, I have a feeling that you're version finishes up a tad bit quicker.

I emailed Simon, the breeder from serious seeds about the Kali Mist, seeing as its his personal fav to smoke and grow. He tells me that the Kali is at its best before any of the trich's have turned amber, so I will follow his advice as I'm sure he knows best!

Long flowering sativa's just have some sort of feel good vibe about the high I swear, a very far cry from the indica dominant stuff that's on offer in my area.

I've never had sativa dominant strains. Can't find them here. In fact, I've had some Chronic once, now I have some critical mass. Otherwise it's been the same one for years, Quebec M39, a strain found only here that flowers in about 42 days.

I AM looking forward to harvest, but goddamn. Overall it'll have taken about 130 days... that's a third of a year for a single harvest. Definitely not the most efficient growing method, but hopefully the rewards will be worth it

Wow that's great, so not only you're first grow, but also introducing yourself to sativa
I also had to grow my own to sample a sativa, its amazing how rare it is if you're not in the area for it.

I love an indica as well, so to put up with the spastic long flowering time it helps to have a couple of fast finishers to keep you entertained. If I didn't do that I would probably bullshit myself into harvesting early all the time, which would be a crime after patiently waiting for so long...

I'm a medical user (IBD), and when flaring I tend vaporize a lot (I make my own edibles or vaporize. I don't smoke. In fact I can't even roll) so the constant use of m39 made me really groggy. Thankfully I work from home so I managed the high, but being high during the day is not what I want. That is why I chose Kali Mist -- I read all the reports, and everybody described the effect as energetic and uplifting, which is exactly what I need during the day.

How are you liking white russian? I've never had White Widow (or WR) but I'm interesting in growing it. I have trouble sleeping, a good bowl of something potent like WW or WR would work great for bed time, and I'd stick to KM for the day.

I'm hoping that by August I'll be fully setup and growing the full 25 plants I am authorized to grow under my license. I'll be building my own enclosures. Two 4x4 under a 1000HPS each for flower, and I'll be using my two SS400W in a 4x4 for vegging. The 2x4 tent I'm using now will be transformed into a large humidor for curing and drying, and all I'll need is another small enclosure to keep two or three mothers.

Ideally, I'd like a mother for a good sativa strain, a good indica, and a good cbd-rich strain (I got seeds from the CBD Crew coming).

I smoke mostly with my other half, and whilst I love the Kali she can't cope with it some days. I find the high fairly mellow but not plastered to the couch mellow, while still be motivating and euphoric. The only times its put me in bed is when I have gone overboard and had to lay down just to get my head straight again, nothing else I can get a hold of can do that to me anymore!

The White Russian on the other hand is a funny one I think, although they are also pre-2000 cuttings so it may be very different now. The missus loves it because it helps her back aches and puts her to sleep, but I find it doesn't really have enough "oomph" in one area to really have an ideal use....Saying that though, smoking it over the last 6 months I've come to really love the "all rounder" high it gives me, and is kind of my go to strain at the moment for getting "stoned" not "high" if you know what I mean lol.

Also, I vape too and own a SSV. I won't rave on and on ( I could) but you will be pleasantly surprised I think, the Kali especially tastes incredible.

Thanks for the info! I'm surprised White Widow or White Russian isn't more hard hitting than you say. The THC content is so high, I would have thought it would put you to sleep right away.

I hesitated about getting the SSV, but in the end I got a log vape (Underdog). I also have the Extreme Q and the Solo. Most of the time I'm using a log vape+bubbler combo. It's as smooth as it gets.

I still haven't found what strain I'll grow next.

As far as my limited knowledge goes, I think high THC levels arent what you're shooting for if you want a strain that will help you nod off at night. Think it has more to do with CBN levels and possibly CBD, but I'm no expert sadly....

Alot of people I smoke with say the russian is very potent, but I'm sitting on an ounce a week tolerance it doesnt really blast me. You might really enjoy it though!

Edit: I really need to try attaching my bong to the SSV. I used to be a hopeless bong addict, anytime I smoke out of a bong I smoked waaaay to much haha! Now I have a bong in the house again my usage has gone through the roof and the vape just stays packed away....I'm starting to get the disgusting cough and tight chest in the mornings, defiantly time to get creative and start using the vape again! Only problem is my bong is a fair size, probably not the best for using with a vape
