Reflectix has an "R" factor of 9 I`m pretty sure Incog , as to where the newer product Prodex is R-15 , but not familiar with Orca`s "FLIR" blocking abilities....

There`s a thread round here somewhere bout that high dollar shit they sell at the hydro whore stores that supposedly blocks all the heat signature , but insulation is the biggest factor with cloaking grow areas.....along with.....

Complete dialed environment that allows the grow area to appear exactly like every other room in said house....I always grew in basements for added insurance with reflectix on walls , ceilings , and everything that wasn`t green , and .....

Never had problems with heat signature per my handheld laser thermometer , but it was no "FLIR" device.......my locations always registered the same as the other houses in the neighborhood , cuz believe me I checked at random on a semi-regular basis and especially after dark......and then....

At the insulation supply house there`s some shit called "radiant barrier" that ain`t cheap , and yas staple it to the backs of the rafters in the attic for added insurance , so many ways to skin a mule....that said....

You`ll be fine with the reflectix I`m pretty sure.......

Peace....DHF.....:ying:......

well if you want maximum reflection and dont mind paying the extra cost, then go with orca. Otherwise reflectix is fine.

Ouch!! That shit's expensive... I got a 100ft roll of the Reflectix for $40..

But room with be insulated as well... mainly using reflectix for reflection properties... I like Orca, but it's costly with multiple rooms... maybe I'll upgrade once a couple more harvests are pulled.

Hey Shred , that`s the prodex product from insulation4less , and thanks third coast for the correction on refllectix`s "R" value , the contractor I saw installing prodex down the beach from my place told me reflectix was R-9 and prodex was R-15.....but...

I never used anything but reflectix in my rooms with dialed success as well as having insulating and soundproofing properties , and orca`s been proven with light meters to be better than both other products as far as reflectivity back into said grow areas , so .....

Good luck Incog.....Getchas a laser thermometer to help put your mind at ease from flyovers and handheld devices drivin down the road.....

At least it`ll letchas know if you`re hotter than the surrounding neighborhood homes around said grow location......

Peace....DHF......:ying:.....

I just happened to be at the store yesterday and saw the reflectix display, that's the only reason I knew that.

A 100 foot roll for $40? At my local Menards it's $140 for 100 foot. I went with the Orca on my new room cause it was only 30 bucks more than the Reflectix.

That's what it goes for at my local hardware store, too. I like it because it insulates as well as reflects..win win

Raytech`s the standard of the industry and costs out the ass for the best ones , but I bought a cheapie at a Contractor supply house locally , and there`s plenty online if yas do your homework and find the distance they`re accurate up to....IOW...

Temp differences @ 25-50-100' from the resistance , but the laser models do well distance wise compared to the plain infrared.....

Just saw pm.....I`ll holler back after some groceries and chill time.....

I will add that Orca is awesome if not needing insulation value. It does a bit better that reflex and is washable.

Of course if you can get reflectix for $40 a 100 feet...
