I hit 1.3. Based off the guy I copy's recommendation im running about 10% veg nutes as my system is perpetual until next harvest where im switching to a better veg plan.

Hopefully ill have a greener plant in a few days. It did green since yesterday so hopefully the drop in ec wont screw up the progress.

Ill post pics either way in a few days

why is so big difference between r/dwc and flood & drain tables EC? Because plants get as much oxygen as they want?? or because roots stay in air?

Just do it in one mega stress( do all things that makes plant stink and get angry) or try to do everything smoothly without any stress. Example same temp water as room. Not to big ph/ec swings. Better to keep plants l hotter and warmer(humidity is the key to transporation) for few days. Because plant now only defending himself and trying to figure out wtf did wrong. Could you maybe provide photos of changes ? Would be interesting to see, cheers

In flood and drain the plants are only in the solution for 15 minutes every few hours, whereas in dwc the are constantly submerged.

Think about it like this, you have to eat, you can snack all day on little bites of food, or you can sit down and have three big meals....

1.8 ec is nuts.

You can run that ec in flood and drain, but 1.2 ec is pretty ideal for rdwc. Lots of experience from lots of people, myself included....
Yeah rdwc needs less nutes than most other types of growing. Also what are your res temps? Generally 65-75 is good. Roots like about 70-75 and more chemical reaction takes place where things get rolling but DO in water drops pretty big after 72. Also pathogens are pretty much in check below 68-70. These are not brick wall temps for what was mentioned but there is a general range for the sweet spot. If your res is at 75 or more then like I did got a chiller and I keep it about 70-72. If you have a small res then quart or gallon bottles of ice should work. Dump 10-15% to allow for ice expansion (about 9%).

Its hard seeing 650ppm for a plant on week 5 of 10. Im doing it it just feels weird.

Truth be told my ppm was 1250 or ec 2.5 when I got my meter months ago. Looking back no wonder those plants fried.

She lost her interveinal yellowing, she started to look better before I lowered the ec but I could tell she is happier now at 1.3

Thanks everyone

Problems again this time in veg. I switched to flora nova grow at 5.8 ph and 750 ppm 1.5 ec. Plants are yellowing so I am going to boost ppm as I was told veg likes a highwr ec than flower. Since I was also told to run veg nutes in the first few weeks of flower at what point do I lower ppm?

Wow 1.5 is high IMO.

Do you top up your tanks with 1.5ec or same EC as the buckets are running at? Also how do you mix your nutrients and ph acid up? Like what order and either straight to tanks?

How big are the vegging plants?.. I've never run higher Ec in veg than flower. I'm no expert but I keep it simple I can keep healthy mums on 1.2 and I have awful tap water

Current plants range from new clones to month old 15 inch high 12 inch wide plants. They end up about 3 feet tall and wide before going to flower.

I should measure 6/9 lucas cause whatever ppm that was was working for me. I only stoped using it when I stoped running lucas in flower and stopped buying those nutes.

6/9 lucas seems to be 1.2 ec from what I read. So I lowered not raised ec. 1.2 seem to come up alot. I shouldnt have waited to try the less is more idea.

I used to run recirc RW and RDWC at 1.8 and never burnt tips. I have found however, you can go lower w same results. I now do DTW at 1.0 - 1.2 EC. But would do 1.4 -1.6 if back in recirc...

Nute burn is depend on the plant size, mature, genetic, humidity, temp.
If humidity and temp absolutly correct youre plants need more nute!If humidity too low and temp too high you give less nute becouse plant need more h2o to upp humidity.
I use 1,2-1,4 ec max in veg and 1,4-1,8 in flo (soil). I only have little yellow tips but its doesnt matter.
