I think the Lab test is for impurities...finer qualities are judged in person...

funny part was a few days before the Cup...Tony asked if Gypsy would be there....I thought that was kinda funny...I said.."naa dont think so brah"...lol...
think tony is still stuck somewhat in the 80s...heh...was a great time..and would do it again anytime...

Yeah The testing is done By 3 judges for every catagorie + the lab resulst.

Let me first say there is one guy at the HT that deserve's respect for the way he runs things and that's Nico, he a straight cat. I wont say anything about the others....

You get the Box with entry's 5 to 10 grams of every sample, You get 5 days to test them all.

They have a online scoring system you log in to, and give score's 0 to 5, you can fill in 1,25 / 1,75 / 2,0 etc.

You score on Visual, Smell, Flavour, Burn (flush), effect.

when you fill in the score on one of the points it right away goes to the current place its at, which works great, would be agood one for Icmag awsell.

Then afther trhe 5 days you come together with all judges, and nico, and talk about your 1 to 3, combined with labv results, and then the talking begings for your 1 to 3.

My 1 to 3 where pretty differnt then the other 3 judges, And i manegd to keep my number 1 on number 1, but that meant i had to let them Put there number 1 on place 3.

The indica number 3 that apperantly was Bannana Kush (it was chocolope) was there first and in my eyes was a hybrid so i did not realy like it in the top 3.


But the number one Skywalker 600 was very nice treu indica power and the smell anf flavour reminded me of my own Biker Le Blanc. Smoked the whole sample pack ha ha ha.


depending on the quality of judges i think HT got a pretty good system, they also try to get judges as far away from the spot the cup is at, so a lot of judges where from cali and EU.







PS gaius, i dont realy remeber what i put in , Mostly sativa dominant one offs in the sativa packs and same for indica. I do know i put in AG13 X Biker in the sativa packs.

very interesting KG. thanks for that insight. did you see the online voting system we had going this year for the ic cup? i bet you have a camera full of crazy shit i'm glad they had such a down to earth and honest guy as yourself as one of the judges. interesting idea to have the judges come to a consensus about the first three places. do tell though, how useful were the lab results? i was looking into getting our samples at least tasted for the basic thc and cbd content, but then the guy i was recommended to do it, didnt have time and wanted to sell me a bunch of testing kits, lol. was already way too busy without having to learn how to tests near 60 samples. but did you find it useful info to have as a judge? i mean in my experience the pure thc level doesn't seem to mean very much once you have above 15%.

FOr me THC is one of the less intresting things from the lab tests, but i do know, that in my catagorie the first 3 where pretty close in THC testing, and then there is the thing that many labs get differnt results, so the US test numbers for me are just a indication not treu numbers.

Had a blast, really good vibes the whole weekend. The crowds didnt bother me they actually added to the environment plus no one was tripping, people from all over the country vibing and spreading love. Met some real certified legends and all had good energy. Meeting DJ Short and Adam from TH Seeds were worth the whole trip truly two good souls, peace to all that attended.
