Mister D's Vertical Redemption

Keep salivating over that Romulan D, if it is Joe's cut its loud from what I hear. Wish I was in medville at times just for the genetics alone. Can't have it all in life if guess!!

Hey gang been more or less swamped 24/7 the last few weeks. A good friend of mine, and the head grower at the spot I designed recently, died of a heart attack. I was asked to temporarily fill his shoes while a replacement could be found. Apologies for the lack of updates. On a happier note the room has been humming along just fine. Loving the CMH's so far, noticed reduced stretch, and closer node spacing. The plants have grown bigger than average leaves, but not any more in quantity like I've read about many times before. Still early to tell, but this is what I've noticed thus far on the first run with them.

On to the pics!

Harvested the horizontal flood table.

~22 feet of dry romulan from one 4x8 table with three 600's overhead. Haven't weighed it yet, but I did ok considering the ph mishap.

From these......

Then I took down the destroyers. Grade AAA shit, but this pheno doesn't yield. Sadly I only got this pheno out of the first pack. Upside is I have another pack, and all of this is going to my stash .

Been having some struggles with the drip system. Got it to work decently by added two 500 gph pumps to the manifold, but I want it to work on gravity alone. I think I can accomplish this by installing a larger manifold. If that fails i'll install solenoids on each feed arm. Like all things new, the learning curve is steep. Horizontal gravity water feed is baby shit. Anyway I know you guys come to see the :kewlpics:.......

Somewhere where around 4 weeks

Not sure why some of the leaves look slightly yellow, they aren't in real life.

I know it's sideways. Loaded that way, not sure why. Someone pm'd me with doubts I was running 4 lights?.

Oh and getting CMH's was an awesome reminder of why I switched to digitals years back, HEAT! Two of them heated my space by an avg of 8 deg F. So I removed them, and all of my ballasts from the grow area. Should have done this right from the start, but I was being lazy.

Now the run up through the ceiling

Not sure if it is or not. I was told by someone that should know it isn't, but honestly I don't care. No attachment to a name, the plant stands on it's own. You won't find this plant available just being in medville. Very few people hold her. However there's many elites to be found in the seeds sold at our own seedbay/boutique or whatever your preferred seed bank might be:biggrin:

Got to say it really hit home for me too bro. According to my docs I should be dead already. So how much time I have left is up in the air......... Just got to keep the ball rolling as long as I can :comfort:. Bills are paid, but I want to make sure my girl is cool when I pass. No rest for the wicked :headbange. Lucky for me this room is merely a bonus, something to add to savings or pad the blow when unexpected expenses arise.

Sorry about you friend. Happens to us all, glad you are taking care of the women.

Thanks man. It's been a rough couple weeks. Craziest part is he's younger than me, and was much more health conscience than I've been. Guess it's true, the good die young........

Sorry about your friend.

Nice harvest. I'm about to chop my first horizontal when I finish up my last final.

:tiphat:

Care to offer some insight as to why multiple solenoids isn't a good next step? I know you've gone rounds with these style drip setups <---- Putting it mildly . What's your current plan of attack in the octagon? Harvest is ok, looks to be about 2/3's of what the racks did first run with the same lighting though.

I forgot to mention earlier, the best part about CMH's so far. The smell of the plants (all romulan) is a good 20% stronger than normal. With my huge carbon filter I normally have to get really close to, or rub up against a plant to smell them in the room. The smell from the current run in the racks smacks you in the face as soon as the door is opened. Nothing other than lighting has changed, and 200 extra watts of straight hps wouldn't do that i'm certain. Won't say I recommend them just yet, but they are having a very promising start .

Hello fratello , sorry to hear about your friend, one of the few down sides of getting older....:comfort:

Was waiting for some personal conclusion about the cmh run . Even in my limited setup i have noticed a huge improvement on the terpens profiles and potency when mixing ligths spectrums and uvb, smells better , test better and is more potent than without. Kudos to you

I was suggesting you skip straight to multiple solenoids, not avoid them. It will be the only way to consistently get even flow to each level. In an open loop with valves, the bottoms always get more solution than the tops. Always. I avoided multiple solenoids b/c of the greater probability of mechanical failure... However, my timer/solenoid combos have been operating flawlessly. You know, the $20 battery operated ones. :D

My current irrigation system in the octagon uses 6gph micro sprinklers on a single manifold above everything. I use 1 500gph pump in an elevated res to pressurize the system. This is the closest I've got to even pressure, and it still isn't perfect.

Individual solenoids with valves to make adjustments... But I'm done after this current grow in the octagon. I'm going legal.

I noticed years ago that adding different MH in different proportion to HPS (2 HPS to 1 MH seemed to produce the best result, bulb choice had the biggest effect) has yielded some very positive results. I have couple grobro's that have been using the CMH for a couple years now, and still tout them as the best thing since sliced bread. So far i'm seeing exactly what I was told to likely expect. I'll continue to share my impressions as time goes on :tiphat:. BTW fuck getting old!

Lol man I just realized I miss read that. Keeping an eye on 3 gal. of boiling acetone all day costs a few brain cells ;). The solenoid idea seemed like the best route to go in my head, but we know well theory and reality don't usually match up quite as planned. So just curious, do your solenoids work with very minimal water pressure? Everything I've found in the lawn section requires a min 10 Psi to open. I got a pressure gauge to see how much pressure i'm getting out of the upper res. Havn't had a chance to hook it up yet, but i'm obviously getting less than 10 psi. Congrats on going legal, trees are much easier/less time consuming. Yield potential is close once dialed, but sog will always take the cake. Though one has to balance time spent in the garden with pursuits in the real world. There is no legal for me, and 98% of potential employers look at my record and ask why I even bother......... Lucky for me I love my job

My solenoids are ball-valve, not suction, and operate with 0 psi. Another thing that prevented me from going this route was having to wire all of the solenoids to various timers. The battery operated solenoid solves this. This is the only way I would do vert SOG again tbh. That and if I wasn't worried about ruining 10 years of schooling... lol... My circumstances are different from most. Its time I start using my brain a little more.

Mucho appreciation bro :tiphat:. Will look into ordering some for testing. Wiring doesn't bother me, but I am pretty ocd about things having a clean look.

You're smart to move towards being legal. A real college career is not something to jeopardize over growing dope. Besides, you can't put a price on sleeping well at night. Smart men know life is a bit like chess, always planning six moves in advance.

Oh btw, my 300 dollar solenoid, still works fantastic

Guys he's old... He gets lost, forgets where he is.... You just have to be patient, and be careful not to startle him or disrupt his reality. I don't know that his body can take the stress.
