Plant a tree, clean up a park, start a garden, or at least take a walk!

This is a great excuse to do something for posterity.

We only get one planet.

No matter who you are you are bound by life to love it.

I'm going to do all of my suggestions and top it off by pulling out litter from a river with grappling hooks.

Maybe I'll save the walk for last.

Go make today different and make a difference for tomorrow.

Love is free.

Superb suggestion Mr. M....and it's going to be 68 beautiful degrees in Portland today and the sun will be shining too! I'll have to see what kind of activities are scheduled for the day around here, but taking a walk out in nature doesn't need a schedule so I'm certain that will be done.

Happy Earth Day.. sounds like Birfday

Its my old mans birthday that weekend. I always get him something for the garden, and often help out with his trees and or gardens. A new favorite family activity is trimming our apple trees now that they are getting to be 20 feet tall.

On another note, I trying to get our shit together to reduce both my girlfriends and my own commutes to work. I used to live 4 miles from work when I was single. Relationships and school have really made that hard. Compromises between people often leave the world out of consideration. Sad

Exhausting and I never even made it to the river.

Well I did but I only burned myself into oblivion...

This dab's for you heros out there.

You know who you are.

a geographical anomaly, being in the same country yet two different worlds, at least at the moment. I'm still struggling through the winter up here, bad back n' all I was out with the ice chisel again yesterday.

This was a picture of yesterdays snowstorm, another 5 inches of wet n' icy fun. :nono:

1st leaves on trees will be in about 30 days or so.

Shame on me though for not starting an inside garden in anticipation of fair weather.

I always start my seedlings indoors around January or March depending on the plant.

Some have to wait to go into the ground.. such as my pumpkins.

It doesn't sound like you have much of a growing season there S4L!

I would opt for the "save trees by hunting beaver" method of giving back :D

I think I'm going to finish what I didn't do yesterday today.

And think of those of us that can't go outside for fear of freezing solid!

I murdered my girlfriend and stuffed her in a trunk in memory of Ira Einhorn, the 'founder' of Earth Day.

It's not easy to be green.
