Anyone use apple cider vinegar?

Something about roasting egg shells and apple cider vinegar.....

Is this what you are thinking of?

Mix 1 part crushed oyster shells (or egg shells) with 3 parts apple cider vinegar and let it steep for 2 - 3 weeks.

The vinegar will extract the calcium from the shells in a concentrated form. Mix 1/4 cup of the vinegar with 1 gallon of water and apply to your soil.

And you can heat the shells in the oven until black and brown and then crush. Distill them in the same manner as above for calcium phosphate.

For an herbicide they use 20% vinegar, and in my experience, it has limited use. Works on some things, but is only a top kill except on seedlings or very small plants. It burns the weed mainly by having such a low pH. Shouldn't have ill effects at a reasonable pH. As you said, Scrappy, go light. Good luck. -granger

I don't pH a goddamn thing.

I do use apple cider vinegar/garlic/ginger as a foliar to combat PM. If you buy the organic kind, I guess there are BB's right in the bottle.

What do ya have a pH meter for anyways???!!!!

no-one should be made to apologize for owning a pH meter.

A useful tool, its good to know the pH of your water source for instance

Owning a pH meter doesnt necessarily mean you are obsessed with pH.

Mmm.... sounds dank funtimes i will be trying that.

Has anyone used that calcium phosphate recipe btw, its not exactly in line with the rols paradigm but sounds interesting.

I'll switch out the molasses for blue agave nectar and add some chiles for a freaky seafood glaze...maybe something like some big shrimps...

Haven't tried the calcium phosphate thing. I rinse off my egg shells, smash 'em and toss 'em into the worm bin sometimes though.

Good thing you're a grower. You've already got epsom salts on hand. Good luck. -granger

full strength Dijon... I could drink it. add a little fresh tarragon and wild orange blossom honey... with duck fingers... it's so good.

heavy duty mayonnaise... now that's a condiment that deserves some trash talk. imagine a bowl of it just sitting in the sun, getting all clear and gross...

pH of my tap water is around 8.5 and since a few months i've been using apple cider vinegar to reduce the pH and it gives a good reaction to the rock dust in the soil.I don't if it is RAW.Nothing on the label about it.

Keep on growing :)

Checked the label but the different brands sold in the natural health stores are unpasteurized.

Keep on growing :)
