3 weeks and getting beautiful

3 weeks and getting beautiful

Hi everybody, update time with lots of photos and latest news from the garden for the 3rd week behind us. First of all, the temperatures are much higher now with the led light shining in both modes, day temp 25C and humidity around 50%. In the 6 hours of darkness it drops to 19C. This sudden jump in the conditions plus the transplanting to a probably too rich medium last week made the leaves grow swirly and curly and to make matters worse i have burnt the smaller Kumaoni and few others with the neem oil, evidence here:

But the canna plants are no roses and all of them came back strongly in the last few days, check them out:

CBD, still not fine but getting there

Flo is actually doing great

Flo runt still lacking behind others

Vanilluna, really nice

more to come...

Kumaoni

Kumaoni

Kumaoni1 the bigger one has a little seedling growing along her, no idea what it is... could be finola hemp, english hemp, some Nanda Devi i tried to germinate a while back... difficult to spot in the photo ... i will probably transplant it when it gets bigger

Kumaoni2 injured badly, hopefully will recover soon

So to summarize the last week, the kids had a lot of adapting to do and i have even added to that stress with the neem oil shower, but nevertheless it seems that they responded to the new conditions and will grow vigorously from now on. :ying:

The Kumaoni land race are the tallest and smell very citrusy already, the Vitality have the most developed secondary branches, Vanilluna and the bigger Flo have both beautiful shaped leaves, CBD girl looks little swirled but is actually growing faster than last round's Alpha and Beta.

The grow bags with living mulch are taking up the space in the grow room and putting the humidity up (which is a good thing), some seedlings are starting to grow but still very tiny.

Will update soon again, probably when i will top some of the plants, take care until then:dance013:

are you spraying neem going in to lights out? it looks like you may find that is the solution to 'burning' plants w/ neem oil

thats what happened to me anyway and i find turning lights off solves that issue {which i did learn here BTW}

I'm Excited for You!!!

I'm Excited for You!!!

Usually I take a step back when just a couple seeds get sprouted of something.
...But those Vitality phenos look great great great.

The sativa leaner is definitely reflective of what I found in my 'red' kalimist f3 pool.
-especially the red veins and pink/purple stem pigments.

The 'red' kali has two main pheno/branch directions. The 'red' and the 'pink/purple' (imo)
...That's not to say u can't find a 'blend' of the two, because I think u did here in this instance bro! Usually the pink/purple pigmented phenos do NOT, have red venation at all. Just smooth, pale-yet-deep green blades, with much more side branching than the pure red stem counterpart.

Also, the sat dom plant u have reminds me of some oaxacan leaners I've seen in the Niagara, and in a few F13! Needless to say....if it's a girl....she won't be far from what I intended, as far as having a high which rings true to the mexican sativa side of old ;)

Take care! Nice Grow :)

Hello xmobotx, thanks for that, will not repeat that mistake, today i will give them little less concentrated drench with neem oil, no foliar, just watering the plants with the mixture to allow the plants to absorb it through the roots. :tiphat:

Thanks for stopping by Mr. Alkaline, will be hoping for that sativa leaning pheno to express itself in all the pinky/purple/red colours it has to offer and praying for the pistils to show up. Especially because all the other plants from DJ Short are more indica hybrids. To tell the truth the oaxacan candidate has little bit less branching than the indica one, that one is the best plant in the garden hands down right now with Vanilluna straight behind. :thank you:

Will be topping few of them soon, yesterday i tied down the biggest Kumaoni, today will do the same to the other Kumaoni. The girls are now growing at a higher pace, have been listening to some Yes, Doors and Queen in the last few days to improve their mood:rtfo:

Updates soon, carpe diem!

Vitality and Kumaoni

Vitality and Kumaoni

Vitality1 the biggest, most side branches

Vitality2 sativa dominant hopefully a girl

Kumaoni together

Kumaoni1 just a landrace beauty

Well the problems i am having with the deformities of the leaves are hopefully a thing of past, will be watering with a rain water from now on, i know the ph of my tap is fine, but probably the water is too hard, too much sodium or just chlorine did not have time to evaporate, even if i always water with a water that stays for 2 days put...

Now for the sexing, checked with loupe and it seems Vanilluna and Vitality2 have the preflowers on, not sure if male or female as of yet, will wait few more days, gonna be inspecting all the plants daily. The Kumaonis are the most advanced but being in the 5 litres pet pots do not seem to show maturity yet...

The smell coming from the Vitality1 is just the most beautiful rosy parfume sweet stink, really nice, the Vitality2 smells very similar but more acutely. The Kumaonis are very lemony, indicating the presence of linalool terpenes, medicinal plants with higher CBD content as well i hope, great vigour, wishing one of them is a male.
The smells of Vanilluna and the two Flo plants is difficult to discern because my nose is still filled from rubbing the Vitality, lol... Next time i make sure to smell them first, but until now the led light made them grow very short and with no space between nodes so it was difficult to get on their stems to find out.

My wish now is for Kumaoni1 and Vitality1 to be males and the rest become females, but this is in the hands of Mother Nature...

Enjoy your weekend and updates from cloning time hopefully in a few days, bye

Transplanting and spraying with neem oil

Transplanting and spraying with neem oil

Hello everyone, so yesterday i have sprayed the plants with neem oil and in the night i transplanted CBD, Vanilluna and Flo1 in the grow bags. Have a look:

Flo1

CBD and two Kumaoni in front

Vanilluna in back, Vitality1 in front, Flo runt left, Vitality2 right

and all together

Everything seems fine, i am very happy for them. Today in the morning i went to harvest some natural fertilizers, so here is the kelp and nettle tops i locally resourced, lol...

Thanks for watching and have a nice day!

i like to wild harvest stuff for my compost pile ~here i can find nettles but no kelp though i will go down to the river and get milfoil

havent been doing too much as far as FPEs ~seems ilke jaykush liked them for getting started but felt soil would kinda come into its own after a while and you wouldnt need to make many additions anymore {at least for a while}

defo can make for some strong fertilizer though & you cant go too wrong feeding plants to your plants {but you do have to go easy it gets strong once fermented}

looks like you may be running a touch wetter than they might like

aloe {like aspirin} will help them recover from that neem burn BTW

i like the effects of a barley sprout rinse {i soak barley seeds overnight, throw that water away, then once i see some sprout tails, i rinse 'em and use that rinse water in my next watering ~timing is fairly key like plan about 14 to 18 hours min before your next water ~its pretty flexible as long as there's sprouting going on it works ENZYMES}

32 days from seed

32 days from seed

Hello everyone, new update today...

Thank you xmobotx, i did not use the nettle FPE yet, made it for the rootbound Vitality plants but I have already transplanted them today, so no need now. All the plants except for the unknown seedling and the Kumaonis (they are in 5l pots) are now in the grow bags. I let them dry out last few days and after the transplant they got AACT with EWC, kelp and aloe vera juicy leaf plus a spoon of unrefined sugar. I made 1,5 liter of it and then diluted that to 1:3 with water, so each plant got around 350ml.

The temperatures now go up to 23C during day, 17/18C in the night, humidity went up as well, up to 70% in the night, around 50% lights on. Here are the plants:

CBD, resumed normal growth, will top again soon, confirmed feminized girl

Flo1, big question, thought it was a male for sure but now it seems i can see even pistils, so we will see what it becomes

Flo2 confirmed girl, had to stake her, but grows nicely now

Vanilluna should be a girl as well, hope she branches faster

more to come...

Kumaoni1, no idea about sex with this monster, love the leaves and how it responds to tying down

Kumaoni2, girl for sure but i will transplant her just before switching to flower, now she has still enough root space

Vitality1, no signs of sex yet, looking down but hopefully will recover fast after the transplant

Vitality2 sure does not show sex either, hope at least one of them will be a girl

and all together

Well that is all for today, wish you all great time

i do agree w/ that MrA

sometimes; soul-crushing as it might be~ the most vigorous prove to be the males

tight nodes is a good sign but all those kinds of observations just make for educated guesses {although it just almost looks like i see a couple pistils in that pic of vitality 2}

sexing

sexing

Hello wildgrow, Mr. Alkaline and xmobotx, thanks for stopping by. The plants are now looking good after the transplant, will take photos soon.
The nodes are like that because of the led light and of course all the different genetics and the sex contribute to that as well, the Vitality plants are both much taller than the DJ Short gear, Vanilluna and Flo showed sex first (girls) and are more indica, so are shorter. The Kumaonis on the other hand i used LST and they were growing under the cfl light, otherwise would be really tall monsters i believe.

Would love to have Vitality1 as a male to collect pollen and Vitality2 will be a girl hopefully, let's hope you are right:thank you:

yes; it does look like there is a lot of blue in that light and it would seem the plants are confirming the blue heavy effect w/ their tight structure

i appreciate you sharing and demonstrating that~
:thank you:

Ahoj everybody, today's update from my indoor garden is here, lots of stuff happened in the last few days. First of all, here is the photo without flash that captures the spectrum of the led light well

The sad news are my pc fans, seems they died on me, so will have to buy new ones asap, one of them has to be mounted to the carbon filter because the plants are getting to stink, hehe...

Another thing that bothers me is the high humidity inside, will try to buy dehumidifier to reduce that factor, it really slows them down...

Some more topping went on, the Kumaoni2 got transplanted in the place of Flo1 who is a boy, unfortunately...

Flo1, first sure male

Kumaoni1, no sex signs yet, still in the 5l container, getting rootbound

Kumaoni2, confirmed girl, topped and transplanted, tied down

and here the unknown Nemo

more to come...
