Anyone use apple cider vinegar?

Does anyone use apple cider vinegar in compost teas, adjusting the ph of your water etc... Apple cider vinegar is supposed to have a ph between 4.5-5 and over 30 trace minerals. Im brewing one of my first batches of compost tea with some EWC, molasses and White Widow soluble mycorrhizal inoculant and the ph is at 8.4. Im using some apple cider vinegar to bring it down.

Screw buying ph down, anybody do this?

Yes I did on occasion, as well as phosforic acid.

Both had equally good results. > very good results. ^^

Ive never used it for that purpose, but have used it for chemistry purposes, it is 5% acetic acid
Phosphoric acid isnt good, or organik.
Id never heard of the trace mineralz. wonder if lemon juice has anything goood in it?? it, also, lowers the pH of a solution

My girlfriend suggested it since we had some raw unfiltered unpasteurized apple cider in the refrigerator. The cider vinegar is basically fermented apple juice and has proteins and enzymes.

"Raw apple cider vinegar is jam packed with nutrients including important vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. It also contains live enzymes, apple pectin, and essential amino acids which are important for optimal digestion and energy.
• Vitamins-
Raw apple cider vinegar contains Vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6, E, and Beta Carotene.
• Minerals and Trace Elements-
"Raw apple cider vinegar also contains Potassium, Calcium, Sodium, Sulfur, Chlorine, Copper, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Iron, Silicon, and Fluorine.
It’s important to buy apple cider vinegar RAW! This is because raw apple cider vinegar contains a group of live probiotic bacteria and nutrients called the “Mother”. She’s the one that gives the vinegar its nutrients and beneficial bacteria, not to mention all if its health benefits."

I've never used it directly on plants but you can use it for pests in your garden, you can put some in a small bucket and gnats and flies will go to it thinking its rotten fruit and fall in the acv and die from the acidity. It's not an end all method to pests but it will kill a few..

no.

I use apple cider vinegar for cleaning garden tools and brewer equipment though.

I don't pH a goddamn thing.

I do use apple cider vinegar/garlic/ginger as a foliar to combat PM. If you buy the organic kind, I guess there are BB's right in the bottle.

What do ya have a pH meter for anyways???!!!!

Oh yeah...you'd be better off buying myco's from CT guy.

And myco's are worthless in a tea. Sprinkle that shit on the roots at transplant time or mix it well w/ plain old H2O and water it in.

I have a ph tester because i'm going to school for environmental horticulture and a ph tester is useful tool to have. It's nice to test the ph of my water, and i also use it to test runoff water from my soil mix before transplanting.

"Mycos are worthless in a tea"
The mycos are water soluble and is mostly bacillus or bacteria which would thrive in an aerated compost tea. Only a small portion is actually mycorrhiza and im sure its just fine in a 24hour aerated compost tea cycle. The White Widow was just some free sample packs from my local hydro store, i just threw it in

I used apple cider vinegar as my ph down during my last grow using coco coir and dyna-gro.

No issues.

I use it for my peppers growing in coco as well, and I've managed to keep those bastards alive and producing since last spring.

I also use it on MY salads with some olive oil.

Good stuff IMO.

I do a tablespoon mixed with some agave to sweeten it a bit every morning as a energizer lol got the tip from my girl

Me too! I cycle, mollases, honey, agave with mine..in that order. Each day it is a different sweetner..

Also use it mixed with numerous things as household cleaner..its literally all my wife and I use.

I've added some Bragg's to my watering before, which is unfiltered with a "mother" present.

Granger, there's a lot we can learn from humans about plants. Coot got me on that thought pointing out how similar humans and plants are in regard to the effects of Magnesium intake.
