ok so how far can it go?

in 6 months APPLE has lost $200 some odd dollars... nothing lasts forever

and BITCOIN is obviously way over inflated now

if it were so easy to make money on the stock market we have lots more rich people

it's not...it's called gambling...gotta know when hold'em know when to fold'em

chef it isn't over inflated, people believe in it because of that whole Cyprus BTC ATM that they are putting out. It will be real interesting if some other small countries start to pick it up as a currency. IMO we are just seeing the segue into a world currency, not that this is going to happen any time soon. People are realizing that the government controls us through the fed and their interest rates. If people stop using government issued currencies it increases our freedom of exchange, also BTC cannot be taxed right now like income. Interesting times we live in for sure, never has the Earth seen a world like this.

Stoner4Life, i suspect it has something to do with the leaked Offshore-data.
There are a lot of very scared, very rich people right now trying to hide from their countries IRS.

No apology required here, but your recollection of Occupy being pro-Democrat or pro-Obama is 180 degrees off from my recollection of it. I recall Occupiers coast to coast telling the establishment Dems to fuck off when they tried to co-opt the movement.

YMMV
Has more to do with the frustration all over the political spectrum IMHO.
Our western politicians obviously think that democrazy means asking us every few yours if we want to get fucked in red or blue.(Or green, black or red in my country).
They shouldn't wonder when the answer is "Fuck YOU!"

What will be funny is when people go to take their "riches" out.

Hello tax man....

Or hello prison for tax dodging.

Oh but I'm sure every person using bit coin uses tor properly, uses multiple anonymous wallets, and would never use the main exchanges(which have the most liquidity and keep your info of transactions) to get their money.

I love a decentralized p2p currency, but it needs inflation to serve long term, preferably tied to energy and hardware necessary to create a coin. Iow, the base should be allowed to grow, but it will require large amounts of energy and expensive equipment to mine coins, therefore creating a balance between the value of the coin and the resources used to create it. Still not perfect, but definitely not inherently deflationary. And still not a store of value.

Otherwise, hoarding, lost coins, deflation, and manipulation will rule the day.

Trading is legal, but you absolutely by law must pay taxes on any gains you realize by speculating in bitcoins.

Now that all your transactions are on record, have fun avoiding the forensic accountants at the IRS.

And missed boat? According to the proponents I still have plenty of time. I mean I'm seeing 6 digit estimations, so I don't think(at least by these guys numbers) that I've missed any boat.

What I do know, is that my stack of metals isn't going anywhere, is recognized literally worldwide, from banks to third world shop keeps, and can't be hacked or destroyed by emp, or caught up in the interwebs.

I think people underestimate the ability for governments in collusion with tier 1 internet providers to majorly fuck up your day....

Just to clarify, not everybody here is in the USA. I've got no issues with declaring the earnings from my bitcoins anyway, as i should, it's all above board.

Just what the elites wanted, a transparent, global, electronic currency?

I love the anonymity of cash.

Another thing to consider is this, in the event of a collapse, when capital controls are in place, cash is king.

What I mean is this, when the government uses its control grid to monitor and limit the flow of funds across borders and out of bank teller desks, cash on hand is king.

If you can't convert your bitcoins to local currency because all the exchanges are closed, the banks won't let you access your account, and they have money sniffing dogs at the borders, the only answer is to have your cash on you.

Just like a bank run, if hyperinflation ever actually started, capital controls would be put in place. The flood of dollars onto our shores in the physical form would be severely limited, your plastic cards would have spending caps, account withdrawal limits, bank holidays, and rationing of fuel and food.

I keep all cash outside of the banking system, as well as my metals. What I would be/am investing in is getting productive, arable land, getting of the energy grid, food grid, and banking grid.

I love the idea of bitcoin, and if your tech savvy enough, willing to deal with some shitty cash bitcoin conversion timeframes, and are willing to take the risk, then by all means go for it.
