I wouldn't worry too much. If it concerns you, duct tape can be applied to the holes if any appear.

I never sealed mine totally. I just leave the flap hanging. In fairness the room it's in is darkened somewhat, during the human days.

on edit; I should add that I used Reflectix for the front and back of mine. Did NOT use Panda. Had some of the Reflectix already. Used OSB for the sides. But mine is only 4' x 30"s or so. Apples and Oranges, but with the room dark and the t5s on, you could surely see it wasn't sealed very well. lol

It had 4 Ak47s in it until the flip, only bloomed two in it. Lolly popped, and flat topped with 2.5" x 4" fence wire (wishing for 4"x4" fencing). Made right at a pound off the two, dried with a light trim at harvest, plus whatever the trim weighed. Not much left to trim, as I kept it well trimmed in bloom.

You might look at shower curtains for white, heavier stuff.

It pin holes like a bitch. I use it in my doorways as another layer of protection other than just using the door. It has little pieces of silver tape all over it. That's how I cover the holes. I would like to also know of a better material so that I may use it next time. However I have a 100' roll of panda so I will have to run through it first.

You can get shade cloth from home dePOT .... Try anything above 60%light blocked ... Goes up to 80% .... it will do the job because it's such a huge light change that even if a little light comes in they will still bloom without issue ... And on the plus side it's very durable, breathable and can be easily rigged to the inside of a greenhouse.

I disagree. Needs to be much darker than that.

The thicker gauge panda works fine, just dont let it gt snagged on anything.

You can rig up the panda to a reggie tarp and youll be good too.

The best material imho is the breathable dep fabric some suppliers are carrying in the 707 and you can find it also diff websites i.e. www.foreverflowering.com

thos breathable dep fabrics work great and result in dense flowers. Recommended especially if you have a hoop getting hit with a lot of light while its covered. I prefer to wake up early at 4 am cover, then uncover around 915 or so...b/c it gets good sun till the evening and warms up like an oven. When covered early morning it never gets more than warm by the time the panda comes down

Passive carbon
I may be wrong, but I don't think so
Solar roof exhaust, then passive carbon
Imo

Great suggestions

So is light leaking really not as crucial as indoors?

Pinholes wouldn't be a problem, if shadecloth isn't???????
Are these real world suggestions
Or well researched suggestions?

Saw blackout tarps on tarps dot com

Yet to check farmtek and northern tool

There are 12mil used billboard, uv resistant, poly tarps for sale online hella cheap
But sound heavier than snow

Maybe spray glue 2 layers of panda
If its the more affordable option

Ill be future depping
May as well invest in that piece
light, flexible, opaque..........
Hmmmmm

Anyone reading this
If you can invite more opinions, please do

Pin holes...unless it is REALLY fucked up, shouldn't be a prob-- You get more light from the stars and moon than you would from that--
Why were you considering Panda, instead of some 6-mil black plastic for half the cost??
Here is a pic from a couple years ago, I blacked out a quarter of our GH...you can see the plastic shoved to the sides...I used ropes across, then attached the plastic to the wall, and taped pvc to the middle and outer edge of the plastic, to make it sit better on the ropes-- Worked just fine--:tiphat:

Pin holes are a huge problem go with the shade cloth or the real stuff used in greenhouse.

There is a difference between the reflected ligth comming thu the cloth compared to a pinhole.

im liking the idea of a 6 mil black plastic drop cloth. I found some at home depot and lowes and was actually thinking about getting one today since its payday...

and forgive me if you think im high jacking the thread, but i was gonna post some thing VERY similar myself. What im wondering is IF you get that drop cloth and say it comes in a 10' x 50' roll. i wanna cut it in half and glue it to make a 20'x25' shade. what would be good for this type of plastic to attach it to its self?

Regardless of what you end up using, I would definitely recommend you use two layers. You can get OK results with a tarp full of pin holes, but you will get better bud-set and therefore better yield if you totally block out ALL the light. It matters just as much with dep as it does with indoor - light leaks of any kind during flower will have a negative effect. If you are going to all the work and trouble to grow a dep, don't half-ass it by using a tarp that lets light in.

The breathable blackout fabric is probably the best way to go as it will help with humidity build-up. However it is also one of the more expensive options. Two layers of 6 mil black plastic will do the trick just fine and is very cheap comparatively. Whatever you do, do NOT use shade cloth.

ok but with using the drop cloth, the kind you can get in clear OR black at home depot or lowes, whats a good way to join 2 smaller peices together end to end to make a larger one?
