Cannabis and Meditation, Anyone?

seems like people like laying down on their backs and meditating, too.

I did the same thing today actually...just for five minutes...I just focused on my breathing the whole time listening to the fan go around...I didn't actually quiet my mind, which I don't think I've ever done, but I did get very relaxed, clear headed and pain free. It felt awesome and lasted for a while, too.

I've only been doing this for a couple weeks or so now, but every time it feels so good and i get nice and relaxed with a clear head to focus on whatever. It's just an amazing feeling that you can achieve with a little focus.

Dude, meditation is how we connect with The One. It is your perfect universe where love and the Self are united in purpose to reach out for The Deity. It is always there, always present, always and in all ways.

Namaste! Amen!

A lot of people mentions meditation in connection to having a specific purpose relating to ones life.
This is in opposition to true meditation.
Thinking of nothing, whether you are high or not is what it is all about, this is when you disconnect from desire, hate and stupidity, represented by the cock, snake and pig, biting each others tails in the centre of buddhist mandalas.

If you meditate in order to achieve success you have moved your conscious nowhere. This is why I have never come to terms with mindfulness, though I do appreciate that a bunch of "leaders" can chill the fuck out, and wont be a nuciance to their family and coworkers.

Compassion, honesty and awareness is a truthful desire and hopefully is a result of contemplating on the world that turns, whether your desires are a part of it or not.

Meditation is the act of quieting your Self enough so that the underlying fabric of oneness and love may speak for you.

Do away with the normal voice speaking, reasoning to you in your mind. You do not meditate to acheive success, but as a surrender of your Animal Mind. What remains in that state of nothingness is not 'nothing' but more appropriately Infinity/Everything.

Would your back accept simply sitting upright in a straight-backed armless chair? That works great. I have a really sucky back and that works for me. (off topic but pot cuts my opiod use way down). Ymmv.

I tried tai chi and my back really protested. Maybe if I'd kept it up it would have improved matters but ouch! The instructor said I should continue but I didn't. Probably bad decision.

As someone commented on pg 1, I would agree that yoga is equally good for your body as meditating is for your mind. Thing is (of course) you have to stick to either, time and dedication wise. I like doing yoga high, but I need to do it somewhere other than my bedroom to prevent my mind from wandering like crazy.
I like really intense yoga, something pretty strenuous. never tried bikram.

Nothing I have ever done has made my back feel better than even the occasional yoga session, I really need to get back into that.

It's the physical aspect of the movements combined with the mental visualization and intention that creates the magic. We have to be able to 'think' something first before we can 'do it' and that visualization is the key to that 'doing it'

Consider your right hand. When you tell it to grab the coffee mug, it simply 'does it'. You do not mentally control each specific muscle into each specific configuration during the task. You have done it many times before, and know what it 'looks like' (visualization), you simply 'think' the action and it occurs.

Mind-control really guys... Amazing stuff imo

I find it's more peaceful at night, so I'm going to begin doing this practice at night...just too much going on in the day and a lot of noise.

It is interesting that even at only 5 minutes of breathing and relaxing you feel like you just took a powerful drug.

What is that 'feeling' that starts when you're done? It's really awesome.

I found some really good music to chill out with tonight, too...something called 'chillstep'...it sounds lame, but it is really good..it's like Enya.

Today I am grateful for my godson who is going to be a Top 20 drafted player for the National Football League. He's a great guy, studied REALLY hard in college, plays excellent ball, married his college sweetheart and is going to be a Daddy in August. It's all good and I am going to focus on this goodness as it reminds me that life is precious and we have to squeeze out every single experience and savor every consequence.

bump....

been meditating on a much more regular schedule, without having any "official" training and such... the main thing I've noticed is that it really does get easier. I've always been an insomniac, lots of anxiety if you wanna label it as such, but now I can more or less talk myself into sleeping and relaxing my crazy brain. Another thing I do is listen to guided meditations they are usually helpful as well. relaxation meditation etc (youtube and I have a short 15min app)

I used to meditate sometimes and remember how peaceful it made me feel, but I could never do it stoned. My thoughts would wander much further and often and I might fall asleep. I guess that's why I don't do it except for a few moments here and there when I'm trying to calm myself. Caffeine really hurts it too, which is another one of my vices, so I haven't meditated in a while.

I like metaphysics and meditation
Buddhism and napolean hill, NLP and The Secret.

Just saying, those things can be interesting. They're like push-ups, and only work if you do them.

I think pot is great for spiritual work, soaring, meditating, being mindful and mentally evolving. Self reflection, astral projection, reaching a higher self and sense of being, relaxing and being at peace with nature, cannabis.

Natures cure, because it chills you the fuck out.
