Ive just lined my wardrobe with mylar, Ive been putting it off for weeks now and only done the doors but I thought as I just stuck my sshxbb in flower last week they would benefit greatly from the extra light! So I got the whole top half done will wait til I harvest the bottom half to do that section as the plants stink so much I dont want to take them out for an hour while I do it

I done the top and the sides, one bulb hasnt got a reflector so a lot of light was getting wasted noow we should be all good.. well better anyway

evening gents. finally have everything together, just have to wait about 12 more hours before my AACT is finished up to mix in and let it cook. wanted to see if you guys could recommend a good starting mix for the seeds / first few weeks in veg, enough for roughly 10 or so solo cups. thanks!

on hand:
-buffalo loam compost
-local EWC
-vermiculite
-coco
-lava rock

dogfish,

I prefer peat or peat/coco, vermiculite, and high quality ewc seedling mix. I've had problems in the past running coco as the bulk of the medium, but do like it in small proportions for the "spongy" effect it can create. Rock dusts for micronutes, kelp meal for K and PGRs, alfalfa tea when they are ready for some nitrogen.

if memory serves me correctly, a good seedling mix is something like:

1 gallon pumice
1 gallon peat
1/2 gallon EWC
2tbs oyster shell powder

if you want you can add 1tsp mycorrhizae per cup EWC, or you can just inoculate the seeds.

good luck!

I love when the fungus fruits! It feels like an old friend is back in town, and lets me know my soil has a good fungal population!

Look what enzyme teas did to this TGA vortex cut...lmao

lady can't even hold herself up anymore. this will be the last vortex plant in the garden...weakest stems I've ever handled - noticed that a while ago in veg. all the silica in the world couldn't help this one...

EDIT: why are some of my words showing up in italics? every time I type enzyme it turns italic. funky

I think icmag is now italicizing any word in its dictionary of contents. If you hover of the word... it gives a definition of it and clicking on it takes you to the full definition.

Very Weird, I don't like it... it feels like yahoo advertising or something.

TGA seems to be hit and miss for people 50/50 I guess that depends on what forum. I have ran lots of TGA from seed and personally have had great experiences but they don't yield like I need them to yield and the prices on packs are insane. Personally, I've been impressed with Bodhi's work.

Absolutely...
I want to also say this thread is special because of the chains it helps unlocks in relations to the commercialization of something that has no need for commercialization.
NPK value's, 98% watered down nutrients, blatantly deceptive advertising, attempts to "bottle" mother nature and sell her when you can find/create in your own backyard.
All done in creation to lead you astray from practices that have little/no costs that allows any garden to produce excellent healthy plants.
There is a even darker side to the conspiracy that I believe the companies had not intended but worked out to their favor.
I believe (call me fruitcake if you like...) by bypassing the natural food web (specifically microbes) and giving plants total soluble nutrition there is a lost balance between that plant/garden and the ecosystem. (Bad bugs and diseases love that shit) I'm starting to digress...

On the other side of the coin is the quasi-science and perpetually propagated myth's associated with canna gardening. Its not just the "underground" with likes of " 3 days no lights for the fatter trich's" or "place your seeds in a napkin", it also once again companies with their specific "kush" products or having NPK values close to what is reported for canna to sway growers to buy their dankdum makers from them.
Let this thread continue to destroy and hunt down those untruths and myths like the mile mites hunts down the FG larvae in my garden...

The original ROLS thread was the eye opener for me so it will always have a place in my garden.. Not to take away from this thread cause it gold in my eyes.. Its just hard sometimes to beat the original.....
