FRESHNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSS

FRESHNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSS

Hi, Im Budelight. Been hanging around this forum for the past few years reading, sharing occasionally and just like the title says, "here we go again"

I will be getting restarted with this addicting hobby soon. Doubling the environment from my last grow by moving from a 70w hps to a new 150w hps – CANT WAIT! Constructing a totally new space to grow – moved and starting fresh. 2 different location options to work with –will post pictures of them soon-

Thinking about getting this fan again: Soler & Palau TD-100 In-line Exhaust Fan
And hooking it up to a trusted filter: Phresh Filter 4" X 8" 150 CFM (701000)

:groupwave: :groupwave: :groupwave: :groupwave:

SAFTY FIRST: Make sure your "hidden" grow doesn't smell.

Just got my Phresh Filter!! Camera battery died though, so pics of the ladies will have to be after i get some charge...

Sooooooo. Yeah, i just kinda hacked at all the roots to get them separate as a phase 1 of moving from hydro -> soil -> vertical.

Here are the after photos and the thread i posted up while i undertook the phase.

:ying: Big thanks to the fellas over in the chatroom for moral support :ying:

Phase 2 - Completed

Phase 2 - Completed

Hey Errrrrbody,

Just transplanted the girls (hopefully) into soil. Coiled the roots around the center. Didn't pat down the soil too much, just enough to hold the plants.

All happy in their cabinet. Next to do is construct the:

Carbon Filter --Duct--> Cool Tube --Duct--> S&P 100x Fan --Duct--> Exhaust

Using the dual 24w cfl of the aerogarden still.

This weekend I hope to construct the cool tube with both a 64w cfl mogul I picked up and my 150w HPS bulb. First need to figure out how to fit them both inside the cooltube and gotta pickup a timer.

Wish me luck!

Man you were rocking that aerogarden! Have you done the transplant from dwc to soil before? I would think that would be rough on them, how are those plants handling it?

subbed, Im really interested in your vert setup and the ventilation system...the 150hps with remote ballast seems like it would run cooler than a reflector...The only thing I would worry about would be the humidity affecting the carbon scrubber...

How many plants are you going to run in soil?

Phase 3a - Completed

Phase 3a - Completed

Moved the ladies to vertical today!

1 - ojd's White Jones has already changed her branch orientation

2 - Nirvana's Northern Lights are also doing well with all the changes that have been happening.

3 - Group Huddle (Donut)

4 - Top down view

Havent yet cut the holes for the ventilation... next weekend is looking good for that project.

Nice set up, I am almost done with a new cab and have the S P 100 cfm fan. Two questions: are you using a contoller to run the fan on 2 speeds? And did you go with the phresh air filter like you were planning on buying? I ask because I bought that too. I was thinking of pushing through it for stealth and putting a pre-filter on the inlet.

Everything is chugging a long nicely in the closet. Plants have recovered from the transplant from hydro to soil without a hickup, vegging along and liking the vertical light.

Ive really slacked on finishing the build.... Need to find some time and pick a final design. Right now i am wondering if i should mount the fan in the center back top of the cabinet blowing out with ducting down to a vert hung hps (switchable to 64w cfl for veg) and then duct down to carbon filter sitting on the base in the middle.

Major problem is that the back pannel is lightweight/weak fiberboard (1/8" i think) and cant hold the weight of the fan.

Thoughts? feedback? reasons it wont work? other ideas?

Yes, that will work fine...you might want to wrap the fan up in sound deadening material and hang it with bungee cords...

On my old cab and the new one I measured the back and had Lowe's cut a 4'x8' piece of wafer board to fit and nailed and glued it. It really makes MDF cabinets sturdier and was under 15 bucks. Just a thought.

What it took to get there

What it took to get there

  1. Install Shelf System
  2. Measure and Cut Holes
  3. Attach Socket to Bake-A-Round Baking Cool Tube
  4. Attach Carbon Filter to Bake-A-Round Baking Cool Tube
  5. Then Just Plug it In!

1. Used a 36" x 12" White Rubbermaid Shelf from Home Depot. Mounted it with a 72" Track that i cut into 4 pieces.

2. Cut Holes in the middle as far back as my fan would fit. Hole in top of cabinet and wooden shelf.

3. Using a 4" crossbar I thread the wired from the Porcelain Fixture Socket through and tied off a knot to hold it.

4. Using a Dryer Dock Vent Hose Quick Connect and a papertowl, the Pyrex Bake-A-Round Tube fit snuggly into the Phresh Carbon Filter. Whooohooooo

5. Add a timer and off you gooooo

Holla webecat, I recon you could push through the filter - always been told and believed that pulling through them is more effective. I do have the phresh filter i listed on the earlier post. Love Phresh, never treated me wrong (you get what you pay for).

I am not using a contoller, may buy one of these light dimmers, but depending on your fan it may or may not work well.

Thanks for checking out my grow

John, i took your advice and stuck the styrofoam packing material from the cabron filter under my fan, the fan sits on it and it removed all the vibrations! Thanks bro :)

I just had a piece cut for the back of mine...you might want to think about it BeL...

Circumvented that problem by hanging a shelf from the sides that are made from 3/4" laminated particle board.

Any idea how to keep them evenly spread over the light? how far away from the light should the plants be? The glass doesn't t get too hot so its working great!

:thank you: :thank you::peacock:
