Marijuana Linked With Testicular Cancer

Any definitive proof that combusting and inhaling carbon cures cancer OR that it "inherent"ly doesnt cause cancer? How does my good friend, who never smoked a cig in his life, have lung cancer after smoking cannabis for 55 of the 67 years hes been on this earth?

I never stated which form of cannabis use. But the use in aforementioned post was in relation to the consumption of cannabis oil. Inhaling cannabis WILL NOT cause cancer as well. Perhaps your friend had been subject to second hand smoke, lead paint(prolonged exposure), any chemical dependent environment, etc. To say, without obvious research, that cannabis caused your friends cancer is quite an uneducated assumption. Just Google "cannabis cures", theres TONS of testimonies and scientific research (independent/non-government). And if your "one of those" that only believes the government, PM me. I have government studies that conclude the same things im saying. They're just not given the publicity to shed the light on truth to the mainstream media.

I know this is a bit anecdotal but I've been smoking for 28 yrs and roughly 5 yrs back I had both nuts run over with an ultrasound due to an unfortunate injury.Let me tell ya' the ultrasound exam hurt waayyy more than smashing my nuts up against the gas tank of my snowmachine! Anyway there was no cancer whatsoever.I also had all kinds of blood tests to rule it out as both nuts were a bit tender...Regardless, I'll be damned if I know what to believe anymore.I also know a non smoker with stage 4 lung cancer, the shit happens. The body crumbles...:tumbleweed:

All the guys for this study also worked in autobody shops painting cars, as house painters, as x-ray technicians, smoked cigarettes, took steroids, scrapped electrical waste, and so on.

although exposure to various environmental factors may also be involved.

if they can't answer this question, the study has no validity for me.

i.e. it is just as likely that environmental factors are causing testicular cancer. or using tooth paste. or having sex.

I live in a large city where gas fumes rule the air. I don't think my cannabis habit will hurt my lungs more than the pollution given off by cars, factories, cow farts, ext.

Actually the NIH testing is pretty widely recognized as solid science....might have to get the girlfriend to check my nuts for me......

Schwartz is part of NIDA-supported research to determine how drugs of abuse affect the cardiovascular, pulmonary, reproductive, and immune systems of the body.
It's not NIH who is involved in this study, it's NIDA! The National Institute on Drug Abuse. NIDA ONLY funds research that "proves" that certain drugs are bad for you. They will NEVER publish research that proves otherwise. That is their mandate. Also this study is from 2010. There's lots more research by others since then.

The association between marijuana smoking and nonseminomas, but not seminomas, is difficult to explain, says Dr. Dey. The rates for both types of cancer have been rising, and subnormal fertility and certain environmental exposures during puberty—such as chemicals that affect estrogen and androgen production—are risk factors for both.

remember this?
...Dey suspected that the two trends might be related, although exposure to various environmental factors may also be involved.

So... off-hand? I'd say it's not the cannabis that gave them lung cancer. Cannabis can help them get rid of it though. :)

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:
my thoughts also.

NIDA study....with no real results.

Pretty typical. Publish an unsupported hypothesis while implying that it's fact. Look at the whole history of pot prohibition.

They're always grasping at straws.

This one line instantly made me skeptical:

During the past 50 years, the number of new cases of testicular cancer reported annually in the United States has nearly doubled. So has the percentage of the general population who report having smoked marijuana at least once.

Sounds like a scare tactic. Its like theyre saying 1 time use could significantly increase you chances of getting it.

Wheres the test group that was studied and documented over the last 50 years.

Its a case of correlation through coincidence.

What a load of bollocks !

yep these sorts of studies are a complete joke..

as well as being hypothetical on the pathway, mice are not people many things kill them that have no effect on humans and they usually use incredible doses/per body weight of refined crap, therefore its more about fear than education or knowledge, they make no account for factors that often accompany cannabis in people which is smoking tobacco and, dare i say it, poor diet and lack of exorcise maybe in the majority of cases, some people it is how they even can excorcise but the majority of people who smoke live a more horizontal lifestyle..

the rise in testicular cancer will be lifestyle based imo if they had the intelligence to get a psychologist to categorise the people that happen to consume cannabis and get testicular cancer they will find other things that are linked in their cases, i'd put my money on tobacco.. cigarettes alone double your chances of loosing your nadders.. lots of other pollutants are finding their way into us as well on a few fronts that are good for causing it..

and i dont get why or how a cannabinoid pathway could eventually cause cancer if everything else is running normally..

but it is obvious the study has been payed for to specifically look at cannabis,, crucially that is not the unbiased work of scientists nor is it scientific, it is propaganda from the church of "science"..

Don't understand how. I had one of mine checked and the only sensation was the cold gel they use and embarrassment.
