Pets that smoke?

One of our dogs, a border collie which is a bit mental, has been fascinated by smoke since she was a puppy - she will chase it round the room and jump in the air to catch smoke rings etc...

the other two dogs actively avoid smoke like most normal dogs tend to - has anyone else got a pet that very actively seeks out smoke?

i tried to snap the dog chasing smoke - unfortunately crappy phone camera plus manic dog meant this weird result - looks quite cool, especially as Aphex Twin - cliffs just started coming out the speakers visible in that shot...

I took home an 11 month old large pit mix with neuro issues who tries to go way faster than he is able to unless medicated. He has better balance and doesn't bull his way through knocking things over when he is mellowed out :) Its like he is cross-eyed and either needs glasses or has bad brain to leg communication without a buzz. The vet says there's no other discernible problems than the neurological issue. He gets to live the dog's life though; sun, food, trees & plants to piss on, and a soft pile of blankets to sleep on whenever he feels like it. This pooch needs to smoke!

I had a ferret that would follow the joint around the room, hopping from one persons lap to anthers. My current dog licks the smoke

Aww I remember my cat rat bastard would hear the bong bubbling and jump thru the window if the door was shut, and sit at your feet and purr this massive rumble untill you would fill a tube he would then put his lil face in the mouth peice and I would blow thru the down stem, he would close his eyes and just breath normal breaths as the smoke would pass his face
Fuck I miss that cat wish one of my cats now would smoke with me.
They just eat the leafs in my veg room lol
But my lil dog just sneezes but won't leave lol

When my cat wants a hit, he lays on my chest and gives me a couple head butts. I give him a hit of very diluted smoke. His purring gets louder and deeper. Followed by kitty munchies and a nap on my lap. This only happens during my morning wake and bake.

Love 'em while you got 'em. bg

My Pit will sit right in front of me and watch me burn until I give him a few shotguns LOL, never fails no matter where he is in the house when he hears the lighter he comes a running like a junkie LOL ...he does have whats like a dog's version of IBS, so I guess he needs it just as much as I do! He even eats better than me, wth? ....the vets got him on a Holistic diet and everything!

now that's a familiar refrain - i have shaky hands due to a medication am on and so use a rolling tin. the specific sound of that tin over anyone else's normal tobacco tin will have the collie running in from anywhere in the house...

Depends on the smoke.

My animals didn't like it until I figured out how to grow 'clean' meds. You know, the stuff that tastes like you're inhaling hash? lol

Cats, dogs... they love the smell and will climb in your lap or on your shoulder when you're toking. You puff some local crap in their face and they would snort and back off shaking their head.

Little brother used to talk about some kid's cat. The kid would put it under a shoebox on the bathroom counter and blow smoke into a hole in it. Said that after a while... the cat would jump on the counter any time the kid went into the bathroom.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

I have 3 dogs, 2 stay away while I smoke. The 3rd and smallest of them, loves to sit in our laps while we smoke. We rarely blow it in her face but she seems to enjoy the smoke.

I also have 2 cats that are always trying to eat my plants!

anyone who blows smoke into an animals face is a clown and im calling bullshit on you guys claiming your animals try to smoke with you, mostly the dude who said he blows thru the downstem while the cat puts its face in the mouth piece.

ive known many stoners and many stoners with multiple pets. ive had pets. none of them have ever seemed to "want" the smoke.

"yeah bro, whiskers knows whats up when he hears the reggae chunes. he rolls his own joints and one time he got so high he ate an entire pizza, man. i swear im not making this up my cat is a total pothead"

yea ok guys

hey feyd - no bullshit

you havent seen my dog tilt his head to the side and wag his tail when you ask him if he wants to get high
he knows whats up
you havent seen him leading ME to the laundry room after i have asked him if he wanted to get high... thats where the bong/volcano usually resides... smart dog!
when the boys come over, the b-dog wants a piece of the action!

my boxer used to follow the joint around the circle...
^^^^this was when i wasnt getting high yet too. sober eyes witnessed it.

now i will admit this photo was staged...
but Bubby was legit high.

i just can't believe it! my dogs have hated smoke. i will smoke a cig outside while i let my dog out and she sneezes and goes away even if im holding it behind my back or holding it up.

ive also seen people grab their cats and blow smoke into its face, the thing just turns its head and starts pushing with its legs because it wants to be put down...ive seen people blow smoke into their dogs face, the dog didnt take a deep breath or inhale, just sneeze and look confused.. but i have seen someone blow smoke into a dogs ear once, he didnt seem to enjoy it too much and when i left the dog was just sleeping.

so from my personal experience, seeing these assholes blowing smoke into an animals face and it obviously doesnt like it, ive always kinda thought it was a shitty thing to do and made me pretty skeptical that people have pets that love weed smoke.

but then again we have monkeys that smoke cigs and steal peoples mixed drinks... im on the fence about this

i still think you guys are clowns for blowing smoke into a dogs face though, that seriously is not good for them and it's not like theyre asking for it

pets have TWO types of behavior, instinctual & learned. instinctual behavior would normally tell an animal to flee from smoke/fire, learned behavior on the other hand might attract your pet to you when you get stoned.

when you get your pants on, grab the house keys and the leash your dog KNOWS it's going for a walk and will act excited, but let's say instead of walking your dog you BEAT it every time with that leash it would run away from you anytime you grabbed your pants; if you did the pants/keys/leash thing but then sat down to a long casual breakfast every morning BEFORE walking your dog it would have a near zero reaction to you grabbing your pants. Learned behavior.

Finally, you sit and get stoned at home with your pet(s) present, you're very likely @ your mellowest, sitting in your favorite chair or couch and almost certainly willing to share those mellow vibes with your best furry buddy, it's no friggin' wonder your pet is attracted to you when you get high, YOU (whoever you are) have mistaken this learned behavior as some sort of acceptance or even yearning for cannabis by your pets.

If every time you got high you sat and glared & yelled at your TV set for an hour your dog wouldn't come near you nor would it run from you knowing your anger was being vented elsewhere, it would have ZERO interest in weed.

But if you beat that dog with your bong do you still think it would still come running for a 'hit', I don't friggin' think so, it would run the other way when you reached for the bong.

OK, so now you think your buddy wants to get high so you buzz him up while he's sitting near you, he makes some faces, licks his nose and squints his eyes while you already being stoned laugh heartily. You've now LOCKED him into your world, if it's one thing animals know & understand it's human emotions, laughter and joy are contagious so expect your animal to greet your bong with this learned behavior and wanting the reward of your best love after putting up with having smoke blown in its face.

Your pet doesn't want to get high at all, it only desires the extra love & affection it gets based on your rituals. Learned behavior.

stop getting your pets high, they really don't have any choice in the matter.

but hey that's just my .02 worth.......

still how I see it.

my dog has a condition known as panosteitis... horrible growing pains. how do you treat it?
maybe you can tell me what the vets have neglected to.

i like your avatar of jesus....
maybe you can save me

we feed him 'leaded' butter and get him high to deal with the pain.
pain management isnt good for them when they're hurting?
id be a clown for letting my friend suffer

ive seen him in pain, depressed, not eating, just laying. fuck that noise dude. paint my face call me a clown.
wheres the bong
"cmon dog wanna get high?"

would you like roaming around in pain?
probably not. something tells me you try not to.
and if you knew (or were conditioned.. since im talking dogs) of a way to ease your pain, youd fucking do it. right?

if i was just simply getting him high and letting him run into walls or hurt himself, THEN thats seriously not good for him.
thats like drunk stumbling and shit. irresponsible.
but in moderation....

now, i will also say not all my dogs liked to get high.
my rottie hated the smoke. ran away when he heard the lighter flick.
so it kinda leads me to believe some animals ARE MAKING A CHOICE...

but fuck it
im gonna get high with my dog and play some ball in the yard.

i know i know... dogs dont really like playing ball too....
