Ya don't seem very confident for a betting man. I took a look at your plants and I can tell your shit is going to smoke harsh, but hey...at least they look green eh?

Wait a sec, you could tell from a picture how my smoke is going to taste? Hmmmmm...... please enlighten me. I have never had an issue before, people look forward to my buds saying they are the only ones around that actually taste good. A proper flush goes a long way.

I've been listening to a lot of johnny cash while I trim... Just picture a guy in a hazmat suit with a pair of fiskars jamming out to "ring of fire"...

It's not as easy to keep things 100% when you're running more than 1 light... If I had 3 plants to watch over, please believe i'd be all over that shit. Haha... FF has admitted to having trouble keeping his plants happy. We can't knock it out of the park every time.

Back to my own fuck tons of staggered trimming...

I'm reminded of two things here:

1. There are a million ways to say the same thing.

2. IQ or intellectual ability is not always a good indicator of social ability.

Catman, your knowledge is well appreciated, but damn home skillet. I'm sure it'd be even more appreciated if it were bundled with a bow instead of a shit smear.

Thanks silver. I am good at taking constructive criticism if that's what that was, just don't know why he brought up my thread in here besides the betting thing with PPK's and blumats.

If you think this about my grow catman then why not say something after you looked in my thread instead of smearing me in someone else thread? I don't mind at all I welcome the opinion and we can talk about it, but I think FF would mind if we took it up in his thread so if you want to discuss your thoughts about my grow bring it over to my thread.

sorry FF for the sword fighting in your thread I apologize for catman as well.

1. There are a million ways to say the same thing.

And a million ways to take them...

2. IQ or intellectual ability is not always a good indicator of social ability.

LOL. I'll take that as a compliment.

How I live, people in glass houses shouldn't cast stones. If one of the million ways someone sees me is doing such myself and I know I'm not and I got more stones...AND if they try to stone me in the night...I may retaliate. An eye for an eye. Don't get it twisted because I had more stones.

besides the betting thing with PPK's and blumats.

sorry

Yas the victim and the savior...whom started it. Love it :ying:

If you think I was starting something by that comment you are fairly wrong, more or less stating the obvious, also to comment on my grow in someone else thread stating something that has nothing to do with said statement is a little childish and selfish. If you feel so strongly about the topic why not try it out and draw your own conclusion. Personally and this is my Opinion I think blumats cannot compete with the PPK's for one big reason they are user friendly and not only because you worked up an understanding on how to use it, like blumats with the runaways like tons of people have with them. If you cannot contribute why open your mouth? Thats right because this is the internet where even the little guy can act tough, karma has its way of coming around my friend and I always know where I stand with Karma, do you? I am sorry FF that is my last post on that matter please continue.

No worries over here..

Kinda was asking for it jumping the gun starting this thread before I was ready to fill the system, but.. its my light at the end of the tunnel as I've said so that I've got something to look forward to after trimming once again another far from flawless coco grow.

I also wanted a placed to post my PPK ponderings without cloggin up D9s thread with questions he's likely already answered somewhere else.

Kinda expected this thread to fall deep into old posts and bring it forward as I've got updates, but if anyone has positive discussion to contribute, have at it.

As I've always expressed before.. I don't have problems with the operation of blumats (no run-aways or dry ups over here), but I do feel PPKs will well outperform them simply because PPKs are more full-on hydro with the ability to frequently provide fresh oxygen/nutes to the root zone as opposed to "maintaining" a hopefully ideal moisture level in a coco/blumat scenario.

this is also my opinion based on my very limited experience.
I think the only thing that can compare with a ppk setup, is a fast hydro ebb & flow set-up. I have grown lots of different ways, and the growth rate on my properly set-up and dialed ebb and flow with rockwell, has smashed everything. :moon::woohoo:, there i said it. Now i'm prolly gonna catch some shit.......

I'm sorry to bust someone's balls in your thread, but if you do a little poking around on google...you'll find a system just like D9's PPK (aside from being the perfect weed growing system of course) and the reasoning behind it's design which is to more precisely measure and administer nutrient solution. Nothing more...nothing less. Want more precision? Lose the medium (aside from the solution itself.) Adding an extra reservoir (and having them plumed as to introduce oxygen into the solution) and drip lines to feed, while having the other part of the pair set to simply give them properly pH'd water...too simple to sound successful, eh? Hopefully maintain a level? That's what multiple carrots and a ...tensiometer... are for. If you want your plants to be over-watered, roots deprived of oxygen (where the hell do you think gases go when you flood...saturate...a bucket...with a fluid)? Drown'em and then makeup for it by rinsing with fresh solution...fucked logic in my opinion:laughing:) and growing new foliage as the old dies instead of bud...just turn the dials too high homie:ying:

LMAO. Did you notice what happened to your green karma bars below your avatar? I like how they become a lighter shade of green as yas get more of them. Reputation probably doesn't mean anything though... how could anyone look at someone's rep and cast judgement upon content if a cat can't catch a clue how buds smoke in conitrogenast with a hue? :blowbubbles:

hey FF, do you think if i used jacks and that if i had an RO and turned the rejection rate down to where my water comes out around 100ppm that i wouldnt need the calnit? or should i just stick with low ppm and add in the calnit?

I honestly have no idea DH,

I've just following D9s suggested dosage of a 1/.67 ratio.

I'm only using a truncheon so I've been mixing Jacks still I hit .7EC and then adding CalNit until I've achieved 1.2EC.

I have however hit with .8EC jacks + CalNit to bring up to 1.3EC
.9EC Jacks + CalNit to total me at 1.5EC
Hopefully this is accurate enough as my truncheon doesnt allow me to hit every point exactly. .7EC would simply be bouncing back and forth between the .6-.8 readings.

I've hit my Coco plants with the in this ratio and they were loving it, but I am getting some downward claw now so i'm either a bit high or I've got accumulation happening. Flushing with straight RO to drop run-off EC and then immediately applying the 1.2 solution. Hopefully that sorts me out and I havnt caused too much damage. I've been having a lot of trouble growing this Rhino where other strains looked great with the same juice. I'm thinking they are really finicky or really light feeders.

My pH lands in the high 5s in RO water w/ Jacks + CalNit.

I'd be interested in knowing the answer to your question. Only having to use one easily dissolved powder would be sweet.

hey, dh! you must have the calcinit. without it your npk ratio is 1-1-4 approx. and with it at .66 it is 3-1-4 approx.

i don't use jr peters calcinit. i can get yara brand at a local farmer co-op for $28 per 50lbs. all calcium nitrate is the same ratio 15.5-0-0-19 with 19 being the calcium. cannabis uses a lot of calcium.

just specify greenhouse grade as that is the most water soluble type.
