i remember, at a hydro show, a flatbed tractor trailer full of solar panels for sale. if i remember correctly, it was in the neighborhood of $40k? and it was enough for 10k worth of lights......

That would also destroy the hobby grower. Unless cheap turnkey solar systems are developed, it would deter a lot of folks from signing on.

yeah and then you would be growing for free for the rest of your life...........

unless of course you waste your money on those bottles of shit.... then you would still have to pay for that.

let's put it this way, using any renewable energy to power your grow will be a huge investment but will be an even bigger reward...
