This is the bberry smelling plant I wnat to cross to the cbxdb and the. To the pre 99 DJs bb sat aka o's this is the one I want to call Blue Berry patch because that what it looks like small nugs every where but some top notch shit and easy to grew I have no IDea where it came from but the smell even before all the bb I'm hitting it with is in real so Cingular soon (cbxdb x bb?) x pre99 DJs bb sat Dom = blue berry patch just look at the next pic of the whole plant looks like real bb bush

That male appears to be nice...has a really solid lateral branching that was absent from the Carolina Blue mom - so you are certainly seeing some of the added benefits there from the Digi Bx1 male. The plant though, appears to be very Carolina Blue in the leaves but also that over-lapping at the petioles and the some what shorter fan blade length, I think is a look at some Sour Bubble traits sneaking in.

I have to say - if you are getting strong blueberry smell from the stem rub, you should certainly use him. I imagine he'll breed a bit more indica and progeny may be a bit faster flowering. I'd also expect that he'd breed higher yield offspring - given his lean towards the Carolina Blue side of things. Makes him very interesting when considering pairing him with a couple of longer flowering more sativa profiled blueberry cuts..

So if I understand you correctly - you have a local blueberry cut you enjoy and want to pollinate it with the CB x DB Bx1 male you have found. From there you want to hunt a male to pollinate the pre-99 blueberry sativa cut. I think people will enjoy your "blueberry patch" very much. I really hope the male adds what is needed to set you in the right direction for you project.

In regards to your females - they both appear to be very Carolina Blue leaning. And yes, the 2nd one showing more Digi traits. A bit thinner leaves, the serrations and the noted better lateral branching. I really like the looks of your 2nd female. I'm not really seeing sour bubble in her though. Are you detecting any heavy blueberry smells from your females like you are your male?

Your #2(female) x #3(male) - Looks like it would make a really good F2 pairing actually.

Sorry that I'm just now responding to this post...been a busy few days.

thanks guys,
yeah they look pretty good for saying that its been pretty cold and they are under a low wattage LED fixture.
the leaves have that lovely 'fine' quality that i see in my blueberry cut, and the digi looks to have reduced the stretch quite a bit, which was a problem before.
lets hope they stay on track through flowering.....
gonna make F2s

VG - :respect:

Those look FANTASTIC!! I'm certainly glad we were able to make that happen! The only true shame is there wasn't more pollen to get a broader look at the plants coming off your blueberry mom - seems to REALLY carry the pull and carry the DJ traits into the next filial generation. The Digi is a fast flowering clone - 53-60 days - and for all of her thai influences, it really makes her a unique plant. You get the effects without the flowering times - one of the primary attractions to her many years ago.

Great job, VG - truly awesome!! Can't wait to see the flowers form! What kind of smells are you getting on them?

thanks frank! - yeah it is a shame to not have got more seeds but i am quite excited about making F2s and the variation they might bring between my BB cut and the Digiberry bx - especially as there are no issues with mutants etc in the F1s
the plan is to use all the males and females to make F2s and keep as much diversity as possible.
the other possibility is to bx to my BB cut... i may do both but it's the F2s im more excited about.
the hope was to bring together two branches of blueberry genetics that have been apart for many years - perhaps reducing some of the bottlenecking that must have occurred in the line over the years. looks good so far but we will see.

VG

p.s. i had a quick stem rub on one but it just smelled of 'plant'. i'll have a good whiff of them next week and report back. iirc my BB cut doesnt smell of Berry in veg.
