Having stumbled upon this alternative hydro medium article I cant help but think you might like a little curve ball addition to your we'll stated conversation.

Sheep wool

Wool*from shearing*sheep*is a little-used yet promising renewable growing medium. In a study comparing wool with peat slabs, coconut fibre slabs, perlite and rockwool slabs to grow cucumber plants, sheep wool had a greater air capacity of 70%, which decreased with use to a comparable 43%, and water capacity that increased from 23% to 44% with use. Using sheep wool resulted in the greatest yield out of the tested substrates, while application of a biostimulator consisting of humic acid, lactic acid and Bacillus subtilis improved yields in all substrates.[17]

Thought ya might get a kick out of that...
Always wanted ta raise me a perty little sheep... Baaaa..

hey FF are you now doing the blumats and donuts anymore? i really enjoyed those grows. made me wanna try it out with my spare 600w and see what happens compared to my 600's in horizontal grows.

I've still got the blumat donuts going on the other side of the basement.

It is the Rhinos Run in Circles thread and I'm flowering now.
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=248637

This will be my last run as it is a winter only opportunity.

These 7 PPKs will be ran in my sealed room..year round.

I've switched my donuts to Jacks + CalNit and already loving the difference. Mixes up so easily and is a nice crystal clear Koolaide blue. Plants seems to be loving it too so far, but still think I'm getting a bit of accumulation because I'm experiencing a little "rams horn" on the very tops. Because of this I'm back to wand watering with lots of run-off, but will be going back on blumats here in a day or so.

In the process of taking down a little joint effort then I gotta tackle trimming my current tree room.. then its on with the PPKs and they'll get my full devotion all summer long.

:woohoo:

tagging in..

dripclean? i'm not that familiar with PPKs so not sure if it has an application here for your 'accumulation' with the jacks.

with the ppk, operated properly, which is with the medium kept wet but also well drained, you will never get a salt accumulation.

if you are experiencing a display that you would normally feel is due to build up you should increase duration and/or reduce interval.

it could also be high ec.

or nitrogen hooking. is the ec trend rising or falling?

hey, G4F! i strongly suggest you duplicate the build in the "big plant" thread if you want monsters! it supersedes all previous builds of mine. if you are doing a big room look at highlife45's plumbing scheme, too.

Sorry.. combining my threads and mixing shit up. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm not experiencing accumulation with PPK & Jacks.. I havnt fully started my PPKs yet.

I'm speaking on my coco donuts room. Plants looking beautiful right now, but seem to be getting some clawing/rams horn at the upper most part of the plant. No tip burn however...just like a straight leaf and then the tips sharply hook under. This is a sign of excess nutes correct? I'll post some shots in that thread when I get a chance as to not clog up this PPK run with irrelevant content.

shiiit... 4 pages and no build? What is this, the float valve thread? I bet my non-existant system gets 50lbs before your non-existant system. :moon:

eh eh now. You pipe down.

Sorry.. you're just going to have to use your imagination. 50lbs is guranteed though. This isn't my 1st rodeo. I have 1000 of these PPK rooms going. Sorry no pics. :shooty:

I've got epic fucktons of trimming to do yet. Took me 3 evenings after work to take down a 4x8 tent with 3 600w... ugh.. Yield is likely pathetic as well.

I've been avoiding even looking into my 7 tree room (which was supposed to get started this week). I'm going to try to have a normal weekend and get started on Monday. Its going to take me forever.

I did do some reservoir/controller work, but dropped my laptop with my SD card hanging out the side of it and now my SD card is fucked... along with tons of vacation photos never put on the hard drive. The card itself looks OK, but the top plastic "lid" is busted off and now the card isnt reading. I'm an idiot and was fucking with the exterior of the card once it was busted up, but still reading at the time, and now it wont do anything. :wallbash:

Will have to grab another and hopefully my friend will be able to retrieve my travel photos from it.

but really, I feel ya... I have tons of larf from the headband I just took down. I've never had this much larf ever. The buds are airy, so I'm not going to have shit for weight and it takes forever to trim... Hopefully it comes out more top-heavy on the horizontal tables.

Its horrible doing what we have to do...

^^^^^^^^^^^^I bet you he does better than with the blumats in a PPK

Ya don't seem very confident for a betting man. I took a look at your plants and I can tell your shit is going to smoke harsh, but hey...at least they look green eh?

...just like a straight leaf and then the tips sharply hook under.

I saw the pic and have mentioned VPD to ya before :tiphat: The discoloration scattered throughout your foliage and upside down hook looks like a sign of over-watering-excessive transpiration-excessive mineral buildup IN THE PLANT-lack of humidity-temperature too high-too much airflow...Plants are like living systems, man...Put the pieces together or you'll end up chasing your tail over minor details...or ya can just copy the guru for perfect weed...Looks like you truly got a green thumb the way things are, but ya can make it more complicated and fuck shit up if ya want...with yas imaginary friends.
