Can someone tell me if everything I have learned in the past few years is correct? LOL Running RDWC w/ chiller @ 66 degrees F.

week 1-3 flower from clone:
85-90 degrees F with CO2
humidity 60%
EC @ 1.2-1.5, strain dependant

week 4-6 80-85 degrees F with CO2
humidity 50%
EC @ 1.2-1.5, strain dependant

week 7-8 75-80 degrees F without CO2
humidity low as possible
Flush for 10-14 days out of these last 2 weeks

Sorry for the rambling, but I have a hard time getting my thoughts out this way.

Sounds good. Obviously everyone has their way of doing things but you aren't doing anything wrong.

Thx for the reply.

Going to post some pics later today so people can get an idea what I am working with as far as resources. Maybe I could get more hints then.

My camera sucks. And I don't know if anyone will be able to see the scope of the box, but it's about 5x6x5. I tried to cram everything I could in there, minus a humidifier which I am working on getting together for next run. The two plants are Sour Bubble by BOG. 2/4 females from the 4 buckets. Killed the males, which is a shame because one of the males was a beast. Any tips/tricks appreciated.

So I guess my main question here is. Given that I will be growing Sour Bubble for a while, should I start converting this space to a vert setup or go sog for more Sour Bubble goodness in this space?

WOOOW you have a lot going on in there thats for sure! How many plants are you running? What size light do you have in there? With good exhaust you shouldnt need a dehuey. How do you plan to access the A/C and the wiring once the plant is in full flower? IMO I think we need to clean your grow space up a bit.

Hi there. Thanks for the reply.

Running a 4 bucket recirculating DWC system with 3/4" returns and 1/4" feeds with a control bucket of the same size (3 1/2 gal.). Ran the BOG Sour Bubble from seed and go 2 females, so running them for selection with clones taken from each.

Room is sealed. Check the right hand side for Hydro Innovations MiniGEN CO2. Ran the dehuey for lights of humidity control and it was cheap and I figured it would be plenty for the room. Though it does take up a good bit of space. Only growing for myself though so I figured I would have plenty of growing space. Thinking of going vert for next setup for assurance.

The light is a 600w on a quantum 600 ballast. It has it's own channel built into the box design to keep it out of the way. I plan on sticking a 4" inline and a carbon filter up there for next run and as stated above moving the light setup to vertical and leaving the cooltube setup intact.

The following pictures were taken from the side door, which is how I plan on getting to everything once we are in full gear.

I have about 10k btu cooling between the two A/C units. Heater is a little ceramic 20 dollar unit. Everything is on a seperate controller. One thing I would do differently if I could go back into the past when I was buying everything for this setup is just buy one controller for everything and pony up the cash upfront. Pain in the arse to be using all these seperate controllers.

Here is a picture of the electrical and controllers. Also the heater on top of the chiller.

And finally the 6" cooling the light. Overkill IMO.

Gonna be a nute change soon. I have been doing this every 7 days, but as of late I have been trying to wait until my RO water top-off system (float valve plumbed from a RO water res to the control bucket) has lost the same amount of water as the total volume of my system. Wondering what others are doing in this respect. Every set amount of days? Measured somehow? Thanks for the input.

Want to show a little bit of what I learned about growing in hot spaces.

After a few iterations of the design, I think I finally have an A/C box that will work just about anywhere. I simply installed a Titan Controls Mercury 4 to a 4" inline fan (could have been bigger but seems to work just fine for my needs) and put the temp probe inside the A/C box.

The A/C box covers both of my 5k window units and has drainage in the form of a custom made drip pan with plumbing. When the A/C box gets above 75 degrees (minimum operating temperature for the back side of most window units) the fan kicks on at a low speed, drawing air from outside into the A/C box. When the box's temp ramps up due to usage, so does the controller and therefore you cooling capacity for the box increases with workload.

Picture of the intake which is dual 4" uninsulated ducting. Could upgrade the design by adding insulated ducting everywhere you see uninsulated.

In the summer, when your air is hot outside, you can still cool the box efficiently, as long as you have enough inline fan power to keep the box in operating temperature (roughly 75f-120f). So long as your outside temps don't get too outrageous (over 110 degrees is a tough cookie).

Anyways just wanted to share some stuff I learned since I have been privileged to be privy to so much of it myself on this site. Hope it helps someone.

Here's a pic of one of the Sour Bubble moms in selection at the moment. I hope one of them turns out to be a keeper.

I am also considering moving the light because of the large distance from the plants. Wondering if switching to vert in the middle of flowering would stress the plants too much. Any thoughts?

Well, decided to go for it against my better judgement. I really don't want to hermie anything at this point, but I went ahead and went vert anyways.

Luckily if anything goes wrong I will still have backup material to work with. The big one in the bubbler bucket is the genetics from the plant on the right, while the freshly rooted clone is the genetics from the left hand plant. Still crossing fingers for good genetics.

Hopefully will have some pretty pictures of buds frosting up next update.

Have another question. Is there a specific vertical orientation I need to be concerned with when running vertical? Does the lamp (bulb) need to be base down? or base up? Thanks for your time.

Going to try and post some pics tonight. Have a question for the RDWC'ers. If im @700 ppm (1.4ec) and my ph drops instead of rises, I need to lower my ppm's, correct? Plants seem to like the vert.

Sorry for the lack of action. Work is obliterating my free time at the moment.

Here are the plants @ 2 wks maybe? So little time to tend to them that I am amazed they are doing as good as they are.

Still thinking of popping the rest of the seeds for selection purposes. We shall see.

I like those round bushes!

Thx man. I saw a noticeable change when I set my ppms to 600 (1.2ec). I am ashamed to say that I started all 4 girls @ around 1000ppm (2.0ec) when they first went into flower. Needless to say, they didn't need NEAR that much in a RDWC system. Girls are now drinking well and the ppms are slowly dropping as the PH drifts nicely (went all the way up to 6.1 before going down to around 5.5 now). Time for a rez change soon i'm pretty sure.

Have another question (of course!). Using liquid koolbloom at the moment. The bottle recommends dosing @ 350ppm (.7 ec). That would leave me with ~250ppm for everything else (Floranova bloom base and sweetener). Is this sufficient? If not what is? Is the sweetener hurting me?

Again, sorry for rambling and thx for all the help. :ying:

Sorry for not updating. Life is crazy and I am lazy.

Hope this will suffice. I think I found a keeper and I am now wondering if I should even try to find another pheno. Smells of Kush and is sticky as all hell.

Thanks. Hoping to chop within 3 weeks. Maybe less, again because I am a lazy stoner and didn't do jack shit as far as documentation this go round.
