expansion time..... nice femora, that's exciting aint it?

yes, oh yes!

Im eager to get going!
But also a bit concerned that it will be a minor hell to dial in the watering and that the screens will be hard to build proper..

Well, I guess we all will know how it went in a few days...

You are making the leap. I look forward to your results.

Okay lads.. I need some advice/help on this..

I feel like im in a kind of "situation" over here. I really cant tell when to put these ladies into flower. Nor can I really tell how to decide about the sucker-branches... What stays, and what goes!?
Ive had a good 10-hour read on the subject, been readin about tomato-plant-prunuing, looking at youtube-vids, CB-forums, books on the subject.. but I still cant tell what to remove and what to leave on the plant(!!)
I belive I could handle a tomatoplant like a Chuck Norris makes a roundhouse-kick.. But this CB dosn't make any sense!

I dont want to let alot of yield go down the drain just cus I flower em to fast.. On the other hand I dont want a unmanageable jungle going on in those boxxes.
And I really want to fill in those 30-36 inch of canopy-height..
The plants are now between 8-17" (20-42 cm)

On this matter I can only refere to the expected stretch from this scrog-grow, and its friggin hard to tell!

At this pic I had 3 days left to 12/12-flip.. And on the last page you can look at the filled out the more then well filled screen..
picture.php

Ive had some help and sorted out that youre supposed to remove 3-4 inner nodes closest to the main-stem.. but this shit going on right now.. i dunno.. Im almost afraid of those monsters!

Here's some pics for you to look at;

one of the twin-heads;

And here is one of the Euforias I topped during 1-finger-leaf-state
picture.php

It will be really interesting to see how they will preform vs the non-topped.

And last out.. The monster that kind of gives me a feeling of "I have noooooo idea what I got myself into!"

picture.php

I figure that its all looking great.. I just dunno how to handle this to make the most out of it.
The dial-issue gives me a friggin chill down the spine.
So... Please give me a hand here.. It feels like they are exploding out of my hands, and I dunno what to do next. (Lol! I feel like a retard..)

I'd rather let them go longer still femora.

To you they may seem like monsters already but I'm sure their root ball is still not well enough developed to support creating big buds.

I would want to see more well developed, multiple fingered leafes before switching to 12/12.

Removing just some upper nodes does not seem clever to me to do btw.
Better cut off the main stem (including some upper nodes) and let them focus their energy on the lower nodes instead.

Try to let them look like 'normal plants' before you put them in flower iow, and trim off everything that looks 'weird'.

Wierd stuff will give you hardly anything at all, whereas healthy, normal looking stuff will bring the odds in your favour of getting a decent harvest outa them.

Im getting a "trim-plan" setup in my head, and I feel way better about the whole setup now..
Ill check them out every second day, and I guess Ill aim to flip in a week-10days.

It feels kind of shitty to miss this much on the harvest to next run-timer... But what to do.."dialage is everything", eh? (*poke poke* DHF) :)

Ive built the frame to the 2 new flowerrooms, and I think it will work just perfect!
I still have to care for the tables to keep the girls at, and the recirculation solution, but its just a few hours of work to sort it out.

What about taking clones from this vegging monsters.. Will they keep on exploding branches just as their parents? And is that a perpetual option whenever I find a strain I wanna work with?

I am doing this. I am keeping a mother of each breed that I work with.
I am just getting going, and expect that some breeds will be bumped out
by better breeds. I am happy to have AK-47 and Somango to start with.
....must find camera. :0)

Take care,

JD

Glad to hear! Is the mother as crazy with poppin' branches like them #1 cuts?
Do the new cuts go back to "regular" veg-growth anytime?

nice grow keep up the good work

Thanks! :tiphat: Hope I'll see you around!

Glad to see you are doing SCROG... best yield, IMHO... What are your temps (high and low)?

~beez

Heya!

I had some temp-issues. For a few weeks I was down to 8-20C, sorted it with a small heater and got it up to about 16-25C..

Whats that.. like.. 46-68F
and 61-77F

Hey,

I took about 35 AK-47 clones and 15 Somango clones.

I put them all into 2 gallon smart pots, and I just put two of them
into the Mothers Area (7/24 on for a bank of four T-8s).

I found the AK clones to grow very typically, with strong central
stalk dominance. They are going from lollipop to budsicle very nicely.

The Somango mother is more all over the place, but this is how
Somango seems to grow.

I must find my camera. My thread is suffering! :0)

Take care,

JD

Smokerapport;
Euforia: The taste is great, as is the smell! Its a bit sweet and candylicious.
The high is well balanced from a puff up to Snoop Dog-high. Id say 50/50 on head/body with rushes of energy pumping throu you.
You get a, guess what, EUPHORIC high! ;)

The more you smoke, the more temping that couch will seem... but youll still be able to get around but the time-perspective drops to 10%(?) of normal.

W W x The Ultimate:
The taste is really smooth, and the smell is not so intense. There is hints of something sour in there, and puffs of sweet honey or candy.

The high is more indica then the Euforia. Id say 75/25 body/head.. Its just heavier somehow, and the couch will call for you like a Siren at the sea!
Smoke alot and that Siren will for sure catch you! ;)

Its also a good painkiller. I guess thats inherited from the WW..
The energyrush from the Euforia is something like a painkiller too, but it drops and you get those loose limbs when the energy runs out.

Well; I hope you all enjoyed my thread!
I wanna add a special thanks to everyone that gave me a hand during this show! Either here, in PM or in other threads, Noone forgotten! :tiphat:

Stay safe and enjoy!

Sooo... Finally its time to bring closure to this grow!

I can't really express my dissapointment at the yield.

I ended up with 300 grams (0,5g/w), and shitloads of trim/popcorn.
Truth be told, I thought about toss away my plans on expansion and just stop this shit and start growing cucumbers and tomatos(!!)

Sir, please don't let this bring you down to quit :(

One grow may not be as good as the last or next, but doesn't mean its complete failure and the end...

I'm pretty sure you have the potential to knock yourself out of your own socks. Maybe these strains were lacking the yeild characterisitics sought or a possibility of something unseen on your end.

I say you sit down, smoke your sexy looking flower, and go full circle on everything so that you can determine if there was a weak link in the chain, or if it was the plants themselves, because if it wasn't hte plants, this issue will arrise on your next grow and that will probably make you quit.

:comfort:
