Hi Ace fans !
I was wondering if someone used Panama males in some crosses and how was the result ?
Any links would be helpful.
Peace, HJ.

Greetings,

Panama is an amazing tool for breeding, her potency, vigor, yield, resin production, mold resistance are usually quite dominant in her hybrids ... i have been very happy with most panama hybrids i've tried so far.

Just so you know those seeds are regular stock and it is only the newest growth that has the pinkish color.......

Thanks for the info! all of you guys have beautiful plants!

Welcome beachside,

It's very probably going to be a colorful pheno (pink pistiled or purple pheno). Please, keep us updated with pics when she is flowering. Good luck!

Hello everybody,
Panama have indeed a very great potency.

From my exprience over 8 plants and 2 indoor session, i can say their is generally short red pheno and longuer green pheno. The production and vigor of reds are lower than the green, but the high is really more powerfull.

A friend try the red pheno with my vaporizer (aromed) and he felt in an anxious/paranoia state when he goes in society. This weed is not for beginners and it's very mental inducting, however i feel something more compare to the green pheno. I think it's what dubi call "dense effect" ; it's not really in the body like an indica, but i think the effect of these red girls could be compare more to a sativa dominant hybrid (high CBD for a sativa ?).

Dubi, you said in the malawi topic that you test the "killer malawi" by a spanish team that make chromatography. It will be very interesting (if it's possible) to know the result of these ? Have you test other strain (especially panama) ? Could you give us an idea or appriximation of the THC and THCV in the panama ?

Have a great day.

Thanks for share your Panama experience xinox :)

My experience is similar to yours, i find the red phenos to have a denser effect than the green ones, they are usually more resinous too. Green phenos have a more euphoric clean effect, depending on the moment i prefer the green one or the red one, that's why panama population was not simply selected towards just one pheno, different grower/smokers would prefer one or other pheno depending on their own taste, needs etc ....

This plant amazes me time after time...how would she do at 47N? Could i pull it off?

Maybe is a bit too far north for Panama but like Bear Riot comments depends on your micro climate and when the first frosts comes in the year. It has been grown in cold rainy climates around 43-44ºN so it can be probably finished correctly at your latitude. It's quite mold and rain resistant so the first frosts of the autumn would be the limit.

How do you guys judge them to be ready to harvest?

In my experience with Panama I've yet to really see very cloudy trichomes let alone amber ones and I'm at my longest flowering ever with one right now at 12 weeks and one day. I'm trying to decide if I should cut it or not because I flushed it long ago and now it's losing it's green deep into the buds at this point.
(all green phenos, I've yet to get a red one)

Hello de145,

Use the same criteria to harvest, some people prefer a higher rate of clear trichomes to cut their sativas, others like their plants with trichomes almost fully amber. There are many variables that affect the maturing of the plant and every grower has different taste and criteria to decide when is the best moment to harvest. Guess you need to harvest at different moments and judge by your self when is your favourite moment to harvest panama.

VERY impressive Don Dump ;) The dark leaved pheno is usually the most resinous and i think you found a very good one! Enjoy her! :tiphat:

PD: Does she come from a standard or feminized pack ?

Does the pink coloration come through in the preflowers? I was hoping for some pink but my preflowers are very white. I sprouted three Panama seeds and gave two to a friend to grow out, they have white preflowers as well.

If my memory serves...highly questionable...it was about half way through flower when the pink showed.

I must admit, green pheno are simply as beautifull as the red. Initially i only want to keep a red as mother plant, but i deceide to keep one more :)

Just after i first tried one of my green pheno, i run into my house to see my grow room to look at my cuttings of this panama...i said "you, i'll never leave you" !

She have a very powerfull citrus smell, a beautifull, very long lasting and euphoric high that i love, but also very warm without anxiety or agitation... and to finnish, she's not so long (11 week is enough for her i think). A keeper for me :)

I let it go 14 weeks and it was *still* not very cloudy, no amber to speak of and I just couldn't leave it any longer so had to chop it. I guess I just got a very long running one.

Dubi, does anything other than genetics affect how long it takes to ripen the trichomes in your experience?

That is one beautiful looking plant. I will be crossing my fingers and hoping for a good green pheno mom this upcoming grow.

:yummy:

Any tips on spotting green phenos during veg? I am severely limited in the number of plants I can flower by my license so if I can spot the green ones before flowering them it would be tremendously helpful in finding a good mother plant.

Hey everyone, I have 10 feminized Panama seedlings just starting to bud. So far they look very good, they are strong healthy, heavy feeders(for Sativas). The group are under 1000 hps and 1000 mh. grown from seed. Also a copy of each seedling beside the mother in bud as an experiment to see the strains clone to 12/12 potential. I kept clones of each as mums for the time being as well. Ill post some pictures once i get a real camera! Im sure these will be budding for a while anyway! Does anyone know how much these plants stretch indoors? I topped them all multiple times and budded them at roughly 1 ft tall 3 weeks ago. 9 plants are now about 3 ft. except 1 short phenotype(2ft). How long do they typically stretch?Like Nevilles Haze type stuff,or worse?Im up for it anyway, I can deal with lanky Sativas. Thanks for any input! Dr Freedom

Hey I just came back to my greenhouse after about ten days gone...initially my Panama was showing white pre-flowers, but now they are very obviously pink, to my great satisfaction.

Panama Indoors

Here are some pictures of my Panamas all in bud, they are under 1000mh and 1000hps. There is 10 seedlings and 10 clones of the same seedlings as well . The seedlings are 23 days into bud, the clones only 12 days. Some of the seedlings are starting to show those pink pistils. Sorry about the quality of the pictures. By the time these ladies are finishing up,I will make sure I get some good pictures!
