Here is a security related question, I know I can get an informed answer from the crowd that populates this thread.

In terms of "odor creation" are we dealing with degrees of differences or is it all the same? Cutting stem vs clipping leaves at the petiole vs trimming sweat leaves?

The relationship between security, odor, temperature, and plant trimming of course revolves around relative humidity. Carbon filters don't work so well when the humidity is too high and I realize this thread is full of cheapasses who get it done, but maybe a dehumidifier would be worth the peace of mind..

As far as pruning, when we take foliage off, we take the auxin hormone away as well and the imbalance signals the plant to grow more roots. What the hell is everyone growing anyway? Roots? Leaf? Buds? Mold?

They are not that GMO spider mites you get in cali either. These are the originals, the best. Most growers can't get the easy to kill ones anymore. I do my best to spread the love though and hand them out freely for all to enjoy.

I just learned how the process works in a clone and I guess it's no different with a mother besides the auxins are stored secretly, somewhere... Thanks bobble:ying:

People like Ichabod are why I'm going into the ladybug business:sasmokin: ...Must grow more cannabis... to feed a growing population of beloved spider mite arachnids.... for which will be used to weed out the weak ladybugs bitches with poor genetics... So that I can breed some badass aggressive ladybugs... You better believe it man. You'll know when you cross my stand at the farmer's market...:shooty:

So I've been collecting the parts and pieces to put together my new upgraded PPK system, including 3/4 inch drain lines and my tractor supply tops. I believe I've found a local source for Turface and plan to go grab some in the next week or so, how many pounds does it take to fill my big tops? Never seen the stuff, unsure how much I need, but I want to grab enough bags.

Thanks again D9 for all you've added to the community, and thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my question.

P.S. I know when I put this together I'll owe you a thread D9. I promise I will.

i'm trying to get to it. i'm finishing the room now. i have screened and cleaned the first load of pure turface and it takes most of a bag to fill one. i would say 3/4 or so

i'm screening dry with aluminum window screen first and then a slightly larger mesh stainless kitchen strainer.

after getting the fines and dust out i washed it heavily.

this opens up the pore space nicely and greatly reduces bulk density so it is much lighter in weight than a container of straight turface would be.

my initial test with this and the three tailpieces looks good for drain speed.

i think i'll start the new thread in the hydro section with some kind of catchy name this time so i don't run people off before they even look at it.

my camera has not been cooperating and is not making itself available all the time. it's been traveling.

Me too...Me too.

I've collected up the 7 Gal tubs from TS, as well as all of the lower 3 gal buckets. I mistakenly grabbed the longer (12" maybe) of the 2 tailpieces offered at Homdepot so I'll like have to chop them down.

Sourced some Turface which is labeled as All Sport for the local John Deere. They claim its their private labeled brand similar to MVP. Hope this will work. Guy said its bigger then their other stuff, but still somewhat small compared to what I was picturing.

So yea locked and loaded.. have refrained from drilling to see what you whip up D9.
Thanks for your contributions!
