You must have fuct up pretty bad in your RDWC huh? :)

Yeah, a huge root mass, warm temps, and not enough flow = fuct up sht! But for a while it was a very productive. It blew away everything else out there. Until one summer when I got the rot...

The problem I had was a heat (ended up buying chiller when I got a lil root rot), a tight space, and all those fricking hoses. It was based on the popular versions many use w 3/4" returns and 1/4" feeds. I actually had two systems given to me after I set mine up and they basically identical.

Now with that said, I probably will build a quality UC system w large PVC returns and a huge non-submersible pump. It's more about not having to deal w media that makes me wanna go UC than increased yields. Cause coco is awesome when put on drippers.

I was just checking to see if I have the equipment to do just that lol.

Nothing worse then beautiful roots turning into shit coloured mush...worst thing in any hydro...bar none...:tiphat:

I have a few questions. how often do yall feed ur plants in DWC? curently I have fed the plant with some superthrive. but I plann on feeding it some pure blend pro grow in the next few days.

I am low on $$ for my garden. so what is somthing that is cheap but still works great.
also I used to have some metabolic grow formula. should I get some of that stuff agen. or something like it.
and how often should I be adding cal-mag or epsomsalt to the bucket the plants in?

thanks for ur input on this.

i'll let mine go all veg with never adding nutes just topping of .maxigro would be your best bet for cheap and reliable nutes.I always use a little cal mag about 2 ml per gallon, seems to work for me .I have epsom salts on hand case a mag propblem shows itself
I cant believe that things living on super thrive

the big plant are 3 weeks from seed, the ones right rear 2 weeks, the little ones are one week.the big ones i believe were started about the same time i made my first post here

Ionic, they have a grow & bloom and for hydro it's probably the best bang for buck. Many on this site will back this up...although I use GH.

Can't remember what FloraNova Grow costs a quart off hand...but it was pretty cheap, a simple 1 part, and a bottle last forever.

Pour water, toss in nutes, stir, PH. So easy even I can do it.

:yeahthats

Maxibloom is a good one part method for nutrients.

I believe you've bitten off more than you can chew in this particular setup.

Did I understand that you were going to try and start over if you cut clones off of the present plant?

I would advise against wasting time on a possible male... Is there any reason not to start over from the beginning?

I know what's seeming easier, but I suggest you take the route that may seem harder.

Are you still set on DWC or what's the story with my original suggestion of handwatering soilless for one run?

If I don't have a female mother to cut off of I usually don't try to go into a DWC.

I have but I learned.

Males need culling and if all your plants are tangling roots you'll have a horrible mess and broken roots.

I'm just trying to make it a lot easier later...

#1cheesebuds,

do you have the bottom of the cups your growing in touching the water in your dwc set-up?

i have limited experience growing in dwc but i had ~2" from the bottom of my net pt to the surface of the water and enough airflow via air stones to make the surface bubble and keep the 2" layer moist, not wet.

peace

Healthy looking roots, but like LEX UK pointed out, is that mite damage? Hard to tell but it looks like something is munching. Or maybe thrips?
