with all due respect ojd and truecannabliss, i recently grew out several Secret Recipe plants. the plants looked very good during veg and flower, but they never gave much smell when you'd rub a stem or squeeze a bud to get a wiff. i gave the plants the benefit of the doubt and let them finish.
the night i took the first SR down i was anxious to sample some of the finger hash from trimming. i could barely tell that i had smoked anything at all. no potency from finger hash? so i hung them to dry to get a better impression of the bud. the bud was so weak it was again difficult to tell that i had just smoked something which was suppose to be so strong and potent.
now that the buds are dry they have absolutely no smell. the smell is actually like dry straw or grass clippings from the lawn.
no smell! no potency! and what looked like a good yield has dried up and shrank to the point that the yield will be low.
i wasn't going to say anything about it and just move on, but that really wouldn't be fair to anyone else who had a similar experience with this stuff.
now, here's what i have to say, and i hope it is accepted in the good nature it is offered. Secret Recipe cannot be the offspring of two plants like original sour diesel#1 x chemd-bx2. maybe some seeds got mixed up. maybe one of your growers mislabeled the seeds. i have no idea what went wrong here. but the SR i grew was trash---no smell, no flavor, no potency. its nothing i want to smoke or offer to a friend. the grow was a waste of time and effort.
at one point during flowering i snipped a small sample bud and tried it through a vaporozor and it seemed to give me a little glow and the flavor was decent. this was a 30+ something day sample. i never took another sample until the plants were finished at 65 days of 12/12.
i don't want seed replacements or any other kind of compensation from you on this matter. i don't care if you believe me or not. and i don't have pictures that document my story. i say again: the SR cannot be sour diesel#1 x chemd-bx2. no way in the world.
if i had pictures of the grow they would indicate a great looking plant with large buds and heavy resin. this whole ordeal is bewildering to me. i've never seen such a beautiful plant that turned into some of the worst smoke i've sampled in many years.
like i said, not trying to stir shit or start a fight, but these plants (other than looks) have nothing going for them at all. they wasted my time. they wasted my space. they wasted my money. i wasn't going to report my sorry results. i would hope you'd want to investigate this a bit and look for what went wrong here.
once more: Secret Recipe cannot be the result of combining the sour diesel #1 and chemd-bx2. no way in this world. this stuff should never have been released for sale. it might have been an honest mistake. doesn't matter to me. the results for me would be the same. i'm the one who lost in this deal.
