golden tiger

Any body had any experience with ace golden tiger ? I finally got around to cracking a pack yesterday. Will be just using as a test and seed run.

no one ?? ok well they all popped today looking very thin and land racey. wil get a pic in a few days. might make this a lil diary. gonna be doing an open pollination as i just want a couple thousand beans for next yr. i will be filling the hills and creeks with the beens to make some wild tigers. for those who dont know what golden tiger is its a pure sativa landrace from ace seeds.

Sorry mate haven't run her so it looks like it's up to you to show us how this sativa goddess operates under the OZ sun :good:
Best of Luck getting them to finish mate I think your going to need it as they are a seriously long flowering genetic :D
:plant grow:

Thanks boom prolly will need that luck.I will be restricting there size by using small pots this will also quicken the process a bit. In saying that they are only 2 weeks longer than my Thai x Jamaica. Im fortunate to be able to flower well into June . But just to be sure I've almost finished a bush greenhouse if they need it. Lots of rain around so they off to the ebay hothouse til the sun comes back. For the record 12/12 sprouts. Nice one ACE.

Hi mate, I believe billy blog ran GT somewhere near you, and rated them very highly...this seems to be the consensus. It's one of the few commercial strains I'd consider running. I look forward to seeing your grow....peace

Cheers bushweed. That info about the heritage of one of the parents id like to hear more. You can pm me if u want ? Or share here. They looking nice for 4days of crap weather since sprouting. Also love your tree's mate.

Ahh we'll no-one told me not to recount this tale:biggrin: but the story I heard is that the Meao Thai was sourced in Oz, by the chap who originally handed Kog the Old Mother sativa, and also handed out some 78 Thai stick that also wound up in Spain. Could be the 78 and Meao are the same. I guess what's important is that the Meao is prized for its clean uplifting high, where the potent Malawi provides the body...good purchase I reckon.

I'm running my second female indoors right now. I have sprouted 5 seeds so far. Three were male, and two were female. From what I can tell, the first female looked different than the rest. It was the lankiest and had the most subtle smell. It turned out medium quality for me. I've kept this individual until I find a better one, or I try it a time or two more. Sometimes it takes me a few grows to dial in a strain.

One of the males did not smell very much until it got older. Then it got a strong PEPPERY, metalic, musky, and a hint of fishy smell! Except for the fishy, it reminded me of Thai Stick from the old days. I'm keeping this male until I test its daughters.

My second female is about 3 or 4 weeks from finishing.

This one has been very enigmatic in its expressed aroma. At times it smells of carrots, leather and cinnamin, and once I got a whiff of kerosene. I'm more intrigued with this one.

I have read Dubi, from Ace seeds, mention that this strain loves the heat. I think I need to experiment with letting my grow cabinet get hotter. I generally use less fertilizer than most people, and I try to keep my temperatures 75 degrees f. or less. What do you think?

Best of luck with yours. I'll stop by this thread and let you know how my new female individual turns out. I've read how many people have been shocked at the intensity of the high of this strain. I'm not giving up.

Best of luck with yours.

I've harveted 30% of the Golden Tiger last week, and I'm getting very close to harvesting the rest.

Here are some recent pictures:

The aromas have continued to be complex and enigmatic. Carrot smell has gone earthy. I'm noticing a leathery aroma along with honey, spicy, and a hint of kerosene.

The resins look complex also. I see clear, translucent amber (sparkly), mostly cloudy, but no opaque amber yet.

Cheers,

If you are growing the GT indoors I would suggest taking clones and growing those out instead of the seed plant. The seed plant will reach six feet or 2 meters in no time.

I have some that has been curing for about three months. Smell of chocolate covered carrots is what I smell. The two I kept go 14 weeks. Definitely well worth the time to grow.
