Hi Dubi thanks for response.

after reading this thread two times I thought CBG Panama was bred more 'tropical', longer to finsih, lower yields with fluffier buds. but maybe Charlie had his Punta or Pello Rosa in mind. no more stupid questions I promise :thank you:

Very nice looking plants... looks like HUGE leaves. What kind of medium is this?

pretty sure these 5 are all female. possible there is a male fooling me though, not really much sign had to look close. just tiny preflowers on them. still waiting for clones to root, going to be another week before I flip these

Well done Don Dump :)

Your panamas are growing healthy and happy ... i'd start flowering soon to avoid excessive height, she likes to stretch strong in the first month of flowering. Best wishes!

Finally had room to flower this organic double serrated leaf Panama out of a fem pack. I'm excited about what she will do, most of the sugar leaves are completely full of trichomes already. Clones root in a week too. :thank you: dubi!

I wish I had your luck. I've just harvested my first two panama standard from seed (10 and 11 weeks, all green phenos, didn't get any red phenos) and the trichomes were severely lacking on both. The sugar leaves had trichomes so sparse you could count them even though they had surprisingly big thick buds for a sativa.

I grew an Orient Express at the exact same time and it was completely the opposite, covered in innumerable dense trichomes.

I quick dried some popcorn samples from all and the Orient Express was very powerful, way beyond my expectations.

Neither Panama gave me much more than a mild buzz. I'm very disappointed with them so far. I hope it was just that fact that they were the popcorn buds and I can get something useful out of the top buds once they're dried properly.

Time to start a new round from seeds and hope for better phenos next time. I guess the orient express is probably more foolproof than the Panama, it's probably not as "wild" as the panama seems to be.

I hope I just had two bad phenos and things improve with future ones.

I just wonder how many seeds it takes to find a good pheno of these?

Sorry about your luck de. I have only started two Panamas the first has plenty of trichomes and large buds with a very strong effect. This one looks like it will surpass that. There is magic in these seeds I urge you to keep looking.

I second that suggestion. I have 3 from fem seed 4 weeks into 12/12 and have entire fan leaves covered in trichs. These are really impressing me.

Wow, ok, I have an update to make: My earlier disappointment has completely melted away. They were definitely not very dense with trichomes as I said, however I think I could have gone longer possibly in flowering and now that they've dried properly for a week and I've had a chance to try some of the top bud I have to say it's very impressive. Completely different than my first experience with it.

I would say this is strong enough that you could share a very small doobie with a friend and be good for most of the evening.

A little bit trippy and very long lasting effect with a surprising amount of body stone to it at times. Not the dull indica type body stone but an electric wires in the body kind of thing. Very nice high.

I don't know what happened with that first test on harvest day but this stuff is very powerful.

I can only imagine what those dense nuggets must be like you guys posted - crazy man! :)

I'm definitely going to work on perfecting my technique with these, very worthwhile.

I'm looking forward to sharing this with some more friends, I bet most of them have never had anything like this.

This was the type of high I've been looking for for ages now. It's the kind of stuff we smoked mostly way back in the high school days when everyone used to grow outdoors and I'm very pleased to have found something similar.

You can't buy weed like this around here, haven't been able to for years I don't think.

It is a strain that definitely does better with some cure. I have some 3 month cured and I literally almost never smoke anything else.

I agree Panama is my go to jar. Especially if I am feeling under the weather or some physical or even mental pain, this strain has excellent medical qualities. A warm cozy body effect accompanies the splendid mental expansion.

I think I could grow Panama from seed for a long time and be very happy. I didn't get a pheno with pink pistils, but I got some lovely tasting strains. Now to decide which I want to keep.

So...made some Panama bho from bud. A brief but intense panic attack followed by for real hallucinations ensued. You got to be kinda careful with this stuff :abduct:

Hello everybody,
Panama have indeed a very great potency.

From my exprience over 8 plants and 2 indoor session, i can say their is generally short red pheno and longuer green pheno. The production and vigor of reds are lower than the green, but the high is really more powerfull.

A friend try the red pheno with my vaporizer (aromed) and he felt in an anxious/paranoia state when he goes in society. This weed is not for beginners and it's very mental inducting, however i feel something more compare to the green pheno. I think it's what dubi call "dense effect" ; it's not really in the body like an indica, but i think the effect of these red girls could be compare more to a sativa dominant hybrid (high CBD for a sativa ?).

Dubi, you said in the malawi topic that you test the "killer malawi" by a spanish team that make chromatography. It will be very interesting (if it's possible) to know the result of these ? Have you test other strain (especially panama) ? Could you give us an idea or appriximation of the THC and THCV in the panama ?

Have a great day.

How do I determine correct ripeness for Panama? Generally I harvest my indica hybrids when there are almost uniformly cloudy / opaque trichomes but before there are any amount of amber ones.

Can I go by that method of judging ripeness with Panama?

Y

YosemiteSam

Take them to 20-30% amber. You will not regret that decision. This is not an indica experience at all...even that ripe you will be amazed, the high will be euphoric, and very up. For me the pink hair pheno finishes 10-11 wks, the green pheno finished 12-14 wks (and is freakin amazing).

Thanks Sam those timetables are a bit of a relief; I have a green pheno and it's at 11 weeks and it's just starting to go opaque now.

I was reading up on this and found that some people judge the ripeness of the trichomes not by color but by the firmness of the trichomes as they slowly plump up and eventually get as fat as they will ever get and are (supposedly) at peak thc and ripeness just days before they start to sag over.
