Had my first experience at a California Hydro Store today...

I hate when people say strain.. I like cultivar the best (we're not talkin bout fungi here..).
But I feel like a douche saying it correctly, like I'm trying to point out that they're wrong
I can't help it! It's like when I ask how you are and you say good. Then you ask how I am and I respond, "I'm well." Sometimes I just want to say, "I'm good, too" so they don't feel bad.

Strain is a term that I've seen used for microbes, and IIRC I've seen some orchid people using that term. I also recall seeing it used somewhere else, but I am truly drawing a blank. How helpful, eh?

And I just read the second part, and... I do the same thing! I do good (deeds), but how am I doing? Fairly well, or well is my answer. However, last week I told a good friend I'm doing good for the same reason. That's hilarious.

Irregardless of the semantics, I believe it's due to the fact that folks take the English language for granite.

Your mileage may vary from store to store, and employee to employee.
Most of them are retards, but I have developed relationships with a few. Even have the opportunity to swap "strands"... Lol

I don't think it would offend your friend if you said, I'm doing well, thanks.

Just do you. Treat people as you would want to be treated. No need to judge. Basically, we are all idiots. Might as well try to enjoy life and be kind to one another.

I had a friend that insisted on calling resin glands incromes. I don't know where he got that and corrected it every time he said it. To this days pot plants produce incromes as far as he's concerned. and yup. He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. What was that rude remark about the South? lol

I have a friend who swears that you need to check the tricones before harvest. It seems like the English language is going through a dumbing down phase.

Dont talk to those fucking people about weed at all.. I am convinced 90% of the hydro-shop owners are some sort of fucking scab assed punks who wish to wage war on Americans by "narcing" them out.

I was in a hydro shop the other day and one of the guys working there looked like a fucking cop and I was being perfectly polite. I didnt ask anything about herb, and still the mutherfucker kept mad-dogging me. I almost called him out, I have a concealed carriers permit. I was worried he wanted to hurt me, I was not sure why he seemed as mad as he did at me. I don`t even know the guy.

I'm not in Cali, but a pretty cool place. Most of the guys at the hydro shop around here do it for the discounts( 1-2 days a week. I'd do it) Most of em hit it pretty hard. I rarely leave without a dab of wax or a sample of some of their produce. But there are a few idiots that work there.

That being said. I know what I'm getting when I walk in, and know how I'm gonna use it.

Or he was a member of PETA, and he doesn't appreciate you clubbing seals? Lol...
Really though, not sure where you are, but every location is different. In my county, I can almost guarantee that the majority of the employees, and some of the owners are MMJ friendly. Hell, in my county the fire chiefs have stated they don't concern themselves with pot farms, or indoor grows, as long as you have a licensed electrician do the wiring.
After all, it is legal, and as long as you are compliant, what is the difference between tomatoes and cannabis?

And for some, it is a tax shelter of sorts. One manager I know runs multiple rooms, but works just enough to keep the IRS out of his life. It is not likely a coincidence that they don't open until 10am, to allow for morning gardening to be done before coming into work.

exactly!! I grow Moruga Scorpion peppers and tomatoes, and my 6 medicals.. :rasta:

anyway, i think a lot of farmers live in the area and they need to worry about commercial grows or something. I seriously think those fuckers are cops at one big hydro-store in the Chico, CA area.

That wouldn't surprise me in Chico. Still a lot of "Old Boy" shit in that neck of the woods. Like I said, each area will be different ;-)

I recently visited a couple of Hydro stores for the first time. I guess the stores around here cater mainly to big time growers packing HID's and flood tables and all this kind of stuff. It's clear that "Hardly anyone uses the powder" and that "LED technology is not effective" among other things... These people sell the stuff, but that doesn't necessarily mean they know what's going on in the real world. I guess I was disappointed. I expected a higher level experience, but now think that the only time I should bother going to one of these stores is if there is a good price on something I need or I am desperate for something that can't wait on the mail.

Went into the local hydro shop the other day....the sales staff were like "where have you been"...."have not seen you in a long time".....what's up?.....I almost told that their prices are outrages ....and I only come in when I need something small and quick.....for everything else...I order it on line....about 40% cheaper..........perfect example is 4 liter hygrozyme ....$135 + tax at local grow shop.....online $98 delivered right to my door...anymore I just have everything shipped to my door....way cheaper and real easy.
