You can do it like Gas suggests or with just molasses. It really depends on if EWC is already in your mix.

Just mix it up and apply it.

I figured make a light tea...ASSuming he has compost/EWC as a component,he'd only need the liquid to contain a bit-o-life eh....molasses watering would work. Never even think about using molasses for anything but ACT anymore.....trained.

:) what is the toothpaste brand? i use an ayurvedic brand called auromere which I can find locally - it has neem and peelu as two major constituents I believe. interested in the shampoo...currently my shampoo policy is none lol, dr bronners in the hair once a year or once every 6 months maybe

lol i had a kid tell me the other day "your hair always looks so good, how can I get my hair to look like yours?"

"just dont wash with anything but water for 6 months..."

shoulda seen the look on his face lmao

I love that stuff!...If that's the toothpaste brand I'm thinking of...think it has sodium lauryl sulfate...which I think has some kind of controversy surrounding it's use. I still love it~

i'm sure i can find coconuts down here somewhere...just need to go on the hunt. how much do they run you per coconut?

dehydrated would always be a great backup though, so please report back once you have come to a conclusion. good to know that its working so far...

random question of the day - a few weeks ago i did a topdress of EWC, then a bit of kelp, crab, and neem on top of that. about 1tsp/gal for all of the amendments, and at least 1'' of EWC. some of the plants are showing what appears to be nutrient toxicity after this...haven't done much else besides watering with either seed enzyme teas, aloe, ful-power (at 2/3 recommended dose), coconut water, pro-tekt etc. - nothing overwhelming.

was this too much of a topdress? I scraped the visible amendments off the surface once the signs appeared, but things arent necessarily improving. new growth looks amazing and plentiful, its just the old growth that is dying and curling up etc. it's only happening on 1/5 of the plants. would love your take on things...

i guess the real question is, how much should I flush????

EDIT: gas, i love it too - i know what you're saying about the sodium lauryl sulfate. i believe it says on the tube that it is derived from coconut or something...but still sketches me out. doesn't have fluoride though, so i'm game...

i'll check the tube when I get home to confirm...maybe i'll do a bit of research on the stuff..i hate when i think a product is great and then there is that one ingredient that gets ya

Something like 85% of Ayurvedic concoctions contain Neem oil - that's how ingrained this tree was and is in Indian culture & medicine. It's also the main form of birth control in both India and China and the two compounds which are extracted to make this medicine. That's where the very slight differences between Neem & Karanja oils comes in - different forms of Nimbin.

The neem tree is one of the original "7 Holy Plants of the Ayurveda" which predates Hindu writings and even in the Sanskrit writings it's clear that the cultivation and harvesting was already established long before even this ancient text. The Hindus believe the tree to be a manifestation of Goddess Durga and in some Hindu branches they believe the tree to be the Goddess Neemari Devi

I've seen other references that the bow Lord Krishna carried into battle told in The Bhagavad Gita was made from neem tree branches.

Thinking of making my own damned toothpaste w/neem.....
What would the component be as the base...calcium carbonate? From coral?

Hey Coot~ I've read the Bhagavad Gita....still speechless about the contents 5 years later.

Check out 'neem oral health' - tons of information.

BTW - some of the local landscape supply yards are now carrying 'pea size' lava rock from the Redmond District - $2.00 for a 5-gallon pail which is cheaper than the regular source.

Edit: Sorry for the head turn. I was hoping the tapatalk app had updated the photo glitch. It actually rotated the 2 photo's that didn't need to be rotated.... and then it did not rotate the 2 that needed it... wtf

Anyways, I like these products

Probably too much for the topdress. You'll be surprised how effective a simple topdress is.

Hi! Double Post here!

Here's something to fill space......

Our lives are anecdotes of non-freedom rushing to rationalize functionalism and vexing its simplicity

He's the only guy I will do business with. When you buy 10 lbs. from him, that's what you get - 10 lbs of worms. Not 10 lbs. of bedding material with some worms in it. He weighs the actual worms on an old Ohaus Triple Beam. Seriously.

He charges $8.00 for a bucket of vermicompost and a half-yard is only $95.00 - around $7.00 per c.f.

Delusional......

Yep - best possible price and you will get 10 lbs. of worms. Not 10 lbs. of bedding material with some worms in it. Ask anyone who has done business with them - a class guy and operation.

The vermicompost is off the chart as well and priced fairly. A bucket is $5.00 and a half-yard is $95.00 - around $7.00 per c.f. I wouldn't sell it for this price. I wouldn't sell mine at 10x that price.

Thanks....I perused the site and was wondering if this was indeed the operation N.of the river....cool. Perhaps I'll make it that way soon eh...

..still good in my book...for adult redworms, hell yeah. Compared to the ass clowns at Yelms that's great.....1 lb. of juveniles was way too much the final and last time I was there..

For the lowest-priced vermicompost (the $8.00 one) you will get cocoons and worms. Enough that screening it with a 1/8" mesh is worth your time.

I split a yard with another gentleman and I ran mine through a harvester - at least 3 maybe 4 lbs. of actual adult worms and hundreds and hundreds of cocoons.

Check with him on cocoons. I know that he has them available certain times of the year and if I have my worm stuff down, this would be one of those times. It's worth inquiring about anyway.

Are you guys talking of the guy in Camas? If so I am looking to pick up some more worms soon. Price sounds good and not paying for bedding is another plus.

There's an OTCO (Oregon Tilth Certified Organic) compost that is $19.00 for a half-yard and $26.00 for a yard. That's less than $1.00 per bag. A good material for worm bins......

It's about 1/2 mile from the dim sum place

Organic fruit, vegetable, leaf, and grass compost

god damn I wish I was in the PNW....seems to be that all the amazing resources are somewhere near where the columbia runs into the sea...$8 for a bucket of vermicompost!!! I'm paying $17 down here and I thought that was a decent deal. same feeling as looking at the price list for concentrates lol. :cuss:
