I would add myco after the soil has cooked, right before transplant. :tiphat:

I would bet that is a most excellent addition to this mix. With all the Ca and P you know some of it is going to tie up...the myco is what makes it soluble again.

I think it is a very good suggestion.

Hi Jenn,

I've played with a lot of different soil recipes over the years, 1rst year new soil mixes, as well as yearly additives. Here's a very simple mix that is well proven and I am comfortable recommending for those large outdoor containers. It gives about 50 cubic feet or just over 300 gallons (dry U.S), and fills a 6ft diameter container to a depth of about 18inches - perfectly.

25 bags black gold potting soil (1.5cf ea)

4 bags stutzman farms chicken manure (1 cf ea)

1 bag perlite (4 cf ea)

1 bag (50 lbs) bonemeal (steamed, not precipitated)

1/2 bag gypsum (aprox 1/2 cf) - Edit -> 1/2 of a 40 lb bag (20lbs).

Mix well, water thoroughly, let rest for 2-3 weeks minimum, transplant, and stand back :)

Best Regards,

Tom

hard to tell withot doing soil test I gues. I don't think I'll be adding any Ca due to calcerious soil. I'm sure WC and those manures have some micronutrient value. imo the best addition to my sandy soil would be bentonite clay and WC. but I'm sure stuff like rock dust, sillica dust or miccorhizea wouldn't do any harm. plus some foliar sparying with ascophyllum nodosum.

Yall have any suggestions for the biggest strains available from seed? Not concerned at all with finishing time, just pure huge size and vigor potential.

I would think sativa dominate hybrids is what you would be looking for as far as getting big fast

Yeah, definitely. I'm thinking a pure sativa would be the biggest possible, even if it doesn't finish. I've been thinking an F1 crossing of an old Haze with something like one of ACE's Thai landraces. Give it some hybrid vigor to bring out the best of each line.

Hi guys. I really appreciate the support and I can't explain how much it means, but this may be the wrong forum to discuss GRS in.
This is TomHills forum and we should be a little more respectful. Big plants and how we grow em.

Peace..

Ganj I appreciate your sense of decorum, but if business competition has gotten that stiff we're in some trouble. We discuss lots of breeders and lines in here and I dare say if your gear is making big girls your name will be dropped in here a lot.

I hear ya Mr.S,it's not stiff. All good,I was just trying to be respectful and not rub Tom the wrong way. He's someone I look up to and just didn't want him to think I'm pushing or promoting in his forum.

I'm also really stoned,all good.

Peace.

This is why I love weed. It makes people *more* polite and caring toward those around them. I'm out of rep to give but much love from one boy south of the Mason-Dixon to another.
