a work in progress matey, got a few reaching for the stars myself, but they work out ok. have you got small fan running between light and top of plants, will strengthen them up.
as the above post plus the next post,,all is well sinister,,relax,,give some love to your babies,,you have done fine buddy,,a little stretch ,,no probs,,you have packed them up with some bits of root riot to give them support and they are responding to your care with there lovely healthy colour,,nice one,,peace and safe growing s2

watered them last night (20 hours ago) just had a look at them nothing happening up top at all...slight bit of light green discolouration on the leaves but exactly the same as they have been the last few days with no new growth at all....

I have noticed some new roots coming through the bottoms of the 3" cubes though. Out of the 19 I now have 16 with roots out of the bottoms. most ive seen is 4 roots coming through least is 1 root...the roots are getting a little longer through

do you think I should give them an EC of 0.8 ionic grow tomorrow?...tap water is 0.4 so will be giving them 0.4?..got some water thats been standing a couple of days so should be pretty well dechlorinated

Whatever you do, don't put them in the system until the bottom of the rockwool is covered in roots.
In future, you need to keep the light down low over the seedlings as soon as they are "above ground". Envirolights are great for seedlings and clones.

Thanks Harry...I was going to wait until they are well and truly rooted before thinking about putting them on the table for sure....I didnt expect them to shoot out the cubes like that to be honest...they flew out within about 18 hours

I am hoping once the roots have established they will start to move up top like they should be...They are big buddah original cheese...looked on the net and they seem to have mixed reviews. the last time i went from seeds was like 18 years ago and threw a load of k2 seeds in cubes of which a lot came up male...I made a couple of good mothers...one hell of a smoke though on completion I remember me and a mate gave it a try and cabbaged us completely lol

hiya,,sinister,,the nebula fluorescent i was using wasnt giving me enough light coverage, ideally i would have added another nebula lamp but these connisseur beans tore out of the seedling mix so quickly i needed to move them under a big 600w duel spectrum after only a couple of days instead of the usual 10days,,i was careful not to burn such young healthy girls and some others were just popping there heads over the top,so made the decision to risk a bit of stretch rather then burn and kept adjusting lamp every other day and making sure i had good airflow,,now they are in big pots going great guns and will post some pics soon,,i hope that explains it for you sinister and good luck,,peace and regards s2:tiphat:

still no activity up top which is worrying me now as its been 13 days from the seeds going in to split and im sure they should have more growth than they currently have...There is however more roots coming through the bottom of the cubes

They seem to be healthy.

Roots = growth In other words, the stronger the root system the more up-top growth you get.

Also, if you are keeping them really wet, the roots dont need to develop to get the water they need... so they (the roots) will grow slowly.

I use plugs in nursery 6-packs and only top-water once. Any water added after goes in the bottom of the tray so the roots seek it out.

Ill also add that I dont know squat about rockwool... Im a dirt guy.

those are about 5 days from the seed cracking,i use rapid rooters or 1.5 rock wool .with the same results .I do prefer RW biggest key is pre soaking in 5.0 ph with real lite nutes IME
this shot is about 2 weeks from seeds cracking.all these are pretty much documented from day 1 here on ic .i believe i popped seeds last week of oct .

those seedlings are under a 400 mh as well ,2 weeks 600,3 weeks 1k ,Dimmable ballast .NowI just put them under a 1k at a safe distance .Then move them closer daialy

If your 3" rockwool cubes are going into NFT,I suggest Plenty of roots emerging from the bottom of the cubes before you drop em in your nft or onto rockwool slabs.

A good tip is to place some perlite in the tray under the blocks to prevent roots drying out.

Happy growing!
