Wholesale pot prices plummet. Now there starting to get better

your right about the "elite" pheno.....they can be found.....it just
time.....and proper enivornment.

^to add to that, elite is such a pompous word (and I am a french wine lover saying this lol). it's fucking cannabis, and you can take land race shwag seeds and grow enough out and you will get an "elite" pheno. I know because I have grown out thousands of those beans and gotten many great plants that were potent as hell. Most of them have the genetics you just have to give them the environment they want to succeed.

Sorry but if you can have a half an acre greenhouse with state permission there is no reason for the prices to stay so high.

hey newbie....every month there is someone new here who has NEVER OPERATED A LARGE COMMERCIAL OPERATION who comes on here bitching about prices and who "cant wait for legalization" because then all weed will be 20 dollars per OZ and everyone will share blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.....

it costs 100k a year in management, labor, and materials to operate a 50 acre vineyard LEGALLY in wine country.....AGRICULTURE IS AN EXPENSIVE AND LABOR INTENSIVE PROCESS, weed doesnt just grow itself like most of you idiots think....if you have a special variety that helps you corner the market and be different from competitors, THERE WILL BE MORE HOARDING you can garuntee it...

anyways if someone is gonna pay the money to buy land, set up greenhouses, sacrifice quality of life to garden day after day for a season, risk time in prison cultivating and selling his product, you can be damn sure they are gonna milk as much $$ as possible from their products..

even if weed was legalized there would be so many sin taxes, permit fees, etc that the price would have to remain at a certain level, may not be as high as blackmarket prices but it will still be comparable to other sin products like alcohol...

anyways have fun with your closet projects, people like you can grow your own bud and smoke it and not have to pay a dime to producers....well for everyone of you there another dozen people who love to smoke weed but have zero time or patience to grow it and will have to purchase their herb from someone else...

clarify how your bud was "free"

are you living in your moms house not paying any electrical bills or something?even if i threw a few plants outside in my backyard or in a local park and got all my soil and supplies free, to cultivate it, is NOT free.....

you are not factoring in rent/mortgage, power bills, gas driving back and forth to guerilla spots or hydro stores, and most importantly TIME.....i dont know about you but my time is worth a fuck more than the minimum wage of 10 dollars an hour...growing good cannabis takes almost daily work especially in larger amounts....even if you had a little test cab in your moms house paying no rent/electricity/nutes or nothing...just your time alone to cultivate, trim, etc means it has inherent monetary worth..now you throw in people who actually gotta pay for shit like power and nutrients, it is NOT free not even close....

your pompous holier than thou attitude pisses me off....we have bad karma because we are cash croppers? sorry buddy but you are fucked in the head for thinking that...IT IS BECAUSE OF POT GROWERS/CASH CROPPERS THAT MARIJUANA IS EVEN READILY AVAILABLE TO THE AMERICAN POPULACE, and because of increased marijuana usage and tolerance that the public has shifting positions that may even lead to legalization. your head is so far up your own ass, please remove it and try to see the bigger picture.......you're an arrogant one if you truely think that people who grow marijuana for their living have bad karma...you have no idea the sacrifices people have to make to bring this plant to the masses...

Lol @ bad karma & free pot

Thats when you know a thread is going clockwise around the drain... When the free weed hippies start rambling about 'karma'....

Awesome

Prop and others, very well said!

I'm getting sick of these anti cash cropper folks. The fact is that cash droppers have risked their ass more than anyone. If it wasn't for cas croppers most of the country would be puffing nasty Mexican brick weed or beasters. Obviously there are some assholes. Folks that spray eagle 20 in flower etc.. But most of the cash croppers I know care about weed and they just care about keeping this industry mom and pop. Just about everything has been outsourced and corporatized in America. I'm willing to stand up and do it right,!fuck just doing any old legalization !!!

Yeah man, jail time is a serious deterrent, I mean bummer, man... I agree that if you take risks like that you should get paid. It is work and hardly glamorous. I think the most successful are probably those that really are just farmers at heart who happen to grow dope.

I believe that my "closet" weed, though not free, will at some point equal or surpass what I am able to buy. Right now, mids is what I am producing while I figure out the strains I am running, but I get to pick what's in my garden, some of which will certainly be unavailable elsewhere.

Summary: I am pretty happy with my lower cost closet weed, but say more power to you farmer/capitalist types.

well said.....id say easily 3/4 "cash croppers" ive met from IC are good people.....most of the gangster idiots who use too much gravity and spray floramite in flower, and flood this country with beaster crap are NOT on ICmag...most people on these forums have a true passion and love for weed so "newbie" is naive for his comments, but this shit aint new it happens all the time always some newjack who grows in his closet and isnt making any $$ whos gotta spew ignorante worthless perspective..

anyways back on topic....smokers are wising up to shitty commercial weed...today i was at a brokers house and a 1600 dollar pound of indoor "gravity grapes" was still sitting there from 2 weeks ago, straight rockhard flavorless nugs covered in hair...nobody in norcal wants to touch that nasty shit, i wouldnt even pay 800 for that crap just out of principal. but other high end indoors were going for 3+ and most of the good outdoor was 15 for the cheapest blue dreams and 18,20, and 21 for a variety of high quality outdoor/greenhouse OG and Sour Diesel, a couple random shit @ 12-13 but usually popcorn, inproperly cured, etc... If you want to make a daytrip up north to the mountains tickets are cheaper but thats your basic urban pricing at the moment...

Sorry to derail the thread.

Sorry to derail the thread.

NotSoNewbie..
Its not making money thats negative, its what you do with your money, and ones relationship with money. Your karma could just as bad for giving away herb when you could turn that "profit" into something positive and more meaningful. With an intelligent and open perspective, you can see the miracle and blessing it is. You could turn a quick profit and then start a non profit that feeds people. You could rent land and grow food and give that away for free.
You dont have any idea on how many people survive on the cannabis industry. I know many a single mom who put in MAJOR trim hours to give there kids a good upbringing and put food on the table. You know anywhere a single mom can make up to $400 a day with a small child?

So many good points on that topic. Thanks to those who took the time to educate NotSoNewbie. Hopefully he actually reads these posts with an open mind and learns something.
If it weren't for the culture of people who risk their freedom and make so many sacrifices to provide herb for people the alternatives would be terrible. People would be relying on imported black market herb grown in foreign countries, with no info on strain lineage,no proper drying or curing. No freshness or quality, just bales of hay like smoke already starting to decompose, probably sprayed with harsh commercial pesticides. I grew up smoking that crap, that why I started growing my own.

When I decided to grow for other people as well as myself it was mainly because I loved growing in my closet and wanted to grow more to share it with others. A plus side of that was a little extra money for new seeds, soil, nutrients,or to pay myself for the time spent on the plants and to be able to continue growing. I was 14 or 15 at the time, how is that greedy? How is that bad karma? I think the more you grow and the more people get to enjoy your herb the better a persons karma.
If you never evolve to have the desire to grow more than you can fit in a little grow cab or closet, you must not love growing cannabis as much as the rest of us seem to. Cause we all want to grow a lot.

As far as the market goes. If your a likable decent person and you grow high quality herb you will be compensated fairly for it.

I know for a fact that that grey skull is no joke. he has some of the best weed anyone will ever smoke. If he doesnt want to share it it's his own business. I am all about spreading around my good cuts. you know why? It is because I hope someone like b.o.g. gets a hold of them and perfects them. I am just a luck box when it comes to popping seeds. seriously, a super luck box. those guys actually know what they are doing. I would be happy to buy it back after they worked with it even if I gave it to them for free.

Shit I wouldnt even grow if it was not for B.O.G. When I was 16 I illegally got on overgrow dot com (my screen name was "foam"); BOG and that circle of people flooded the forums with information and I was able to learn from them. As far as I am concerned they can have all my strains for free..... forever.

Charging money for your work does not count as hoarding either. Some of these breeders spend years stabilizing and perfecting their strains. they grow out thousands of plants in the process.

The only down side to hoarding you strain is that if you lose it it may be gone forever. If they chose to take that risk with their own strains then that is there own business. who are we to judge them. live and let live Newbie

Respect to the all the breeders out there!

I don't have a dislike against cashcroppers. Use the economy to your advantage all you can! And keep it to yourselves and build 13 houses on tropical islands whatever. If you're risking jail time for growing a plant you deserved all that. I just hope you can enjoy it long enough after such a stressy job.
BUT when people do LEGAL big scale grows and complain about the prices they get for bud while they can still get breakeven with their investments and costs after 1 or 2 grows... Fuck your shit, seriously. Any other legal industry out there, you'd need to do 10 times as many runs or more before making profit. And then it's also blood sweat and tears, working long ass days 6/7 or 7/7 for much less profit. And much less interesting and fun than tending a bunch of plants. Seems like a dreamjob.

Even on the west coast, it's still 3000 to 3500 a p for well flushed, cured, AAA rare strains. Life is good for people with skill.

One more thing while this rez fills.

I noticed that most people get over worked or sick of work when they'd rather be somewhere else. One of the most difficult parts of running this is coming to terms with the fact that you have to be there. It's hard.

When I used to work at a spot for 3 hours I would wonder what my friends weredoing, what the score of the game was, how the snow at the resorts were...etc. I would drive myself nuts with anger and jealousy.

I slowly came to terms with my work schedule and don't get bothered anymore. I have to work. I have to finish this job. I have no choice but to get it done. Eventually, you stop being jealous and angry and accept that you will be there for 3 hours. It's up to you if you're angry or happy while doing it.

If you can just master that mental roadblock you can do much more than you think you can.

^^
That's the one part I think most folks in this field get caught up in "the networking" as some like to call it.. I'm not in a med state so it was a bit easier for me to adjust.

Sleep, work, get medicated... An do it all over again.. Prices have gone through the floor on the east as well, only way to keep up is to put in more work and put out more product :joint: :tiphat:

when I went to denver last, I talked to the guy who owned the biggest disp in town for a couple hours. What he told me is meds are 2000 per unit doesnt matter what kind, how long they take, anything, its all just 2. Anybody hear anything similar?

Another guy there told me bho wholesales for 7-10/gram...

Where are you getting 35 for indoor? I travel all over the bay area when I am not working and I just DO NOT see these prices at all???

I find this very hard to believe, several of my 25+ year grower friends who regularly bring total dank fire to market are just sitting on their packs, I'm hearing here in NorCal.....24-28....OCCASIONALLY 3 and that's if you have a real long term relationship and/or are ok with waiting for a 60-90 day consignment.
