HARDWATER? SOIL?

Been having problems with this cheap soil mix i tried this run.I was watering with hard water aswell and not sure if it was from the hardwater or the cheap soil i mixed up.
Ive never had a problem with hard water until the move.So i never had to worry about ppm problems, just watching the PH.At this time i have no ppm meter but ive been flushing with PH balanced RO water from the local grow shop.Guy at the shop had now idea what it could be and he says he's pretty good at that type of thing. He said if they grow out of it dont worry about it.I have a couple 2' tall plants in flower that look fine but the smaller plants look pretty bad.
Any ideas what it could be,i learned my lession this rip and from here on out i'll stick to what soils i know.Peace lemon

Hard water is not bad for cannabis. In fact, everyone who uses RO water puts the Ca and Mg back in there before use, making it "hard" again. The problem inherent with hard water is that it is also accompanied by a high pH. That is most likely your problem.

You said you use cheap soil... I'm guessing that means it probably doesn't have good pH buffering qualities. You might want to try adding some dolomite lime to your mix, or at the very least, pH adjusting your water before you feed or water them.

I have liquid rock for water, where I am, and I use hydroponics. My plants tend to love my water, as long as I fix the pH first.

Hope that helps.

Ya i always check my PH just not my ppm.So i Know its not in the ph,unless it is high in the runoff which i will check at lights on.I dont always use cheap soil just this round, but i have learned my lession. But ya ill be adding some lime to see if it helps.I jsut wanted to get peoples ideas. Thanks for the time.

I would have to disagree with the first response. I am currently recovering from the hard water issue myself. You have to watch the ppm and ph but results will depend on the makeup of the hard water. I have sulfur, calcium, iron and a bunch of other nasties that put my tap water at over 900ppm. So feeding was pointless as it was just too much to take up. Started out looking like burn but then progressed to complete necrosis. The leaves were rusty it was so built up in them. Def a good choice on the ro water. I never had issues until my last place. In a new place now and things are looking up after a good flush. Good luck!

^ Well, I was really just thinking of hard water in terms of the actual chemistry textbook definition, which is water that holds concentrations of Mg, Ca, and/or Fe. But you are right, there could be high concentrations of other elements in there as well, bringing your starting ppm right out of the tap way too high.

In cases where water supply is questionable, I recommend purchasing even a cheap $25 ec meter to know where you are right out of the tap. Also, you could check your municipal water supply's water report to see what their actual analysis is.

damn dude thats nuts, water that hard you won't be able to feed water won't hold the nutes right with that amount of micros in it! holy shit!

anyways, that looks like magneisum issue but I know nothing about your grow no information so icant tell you how you got it until you answer these questions, when you ask for help it's best to post everything about your grow, we don't know if your growing in hydro or soil.......

Stitch I understand there is alot of Q's that could be answered.
Which i understand,I've been growing the same way about 7yrs now.The only things that have changed is I moved to a place with hardwater and I tried making a new cheap mix.So I know its in the soil or from the hard water I watered with it for a bit until i noticed the yellowing.
I just thought someone might know if its from hard water or not?

Its not the strain, environment, nutes ect.I know its hard water or this soil mix.
