What U think of big facilities growing tones of cannabis each year to provide the dispensary, clubs or whatever? Seems like soon they will be plenty of those huge "medical marijuana" growers in the USA. Lets face it, soon or later it will probably be legalize in the whole USA. I have a feeling when this day come, a lot of mid-classes grower will regret!

It is obvious that big companies such as MERCK or MONSANTO will get in the game. They supported props 19 and it seems that a few of those big names are pushing to legalization. I can imagine their lobbies going to push new rules and laws, make it quiet impossible for the mid-classes people to be a "medical marijuana" grower. Seems like they are indeed going to make it legal, yes, but not for the mid-classes to profit from it!

When U think deeply about it its scary i swear, if they take full control of it then its fucked up for real!!! I can only imagine them having a special label, U'll not be able to bring the dank to dispensaries anymore. Urs will be illegal and will probably worth shit in the street market no matter how dank it is.

am keen to ask of SamS perspective with respect to such

indeed great genetic library

cannabis to extinct most all pharmecutical and fuel and textile, with remainder to include various botanicals

chant down synthetic
chant down patent

I think it will be like beer. You have the big names, Miller, Bud, all using poor ingredients but producing large amounts of consistent product. People buy it because of huge marketing campaigns and it tastes good enough to throw back quickly and get drunk. I can see big companies doing the same thing with marijuana: A consistent product that gets you nice and high, but ultimately tastes meh and is not that interesting. But it's cheap.

There will be room for smaller, microbrew-type growers, who grow specialized hybrids (or pure landraces) for connoisseurs who are willing to pay a bit more. Actually, seeing as the genetic diversity for cannabis is greater than the diversity for beer and wine, the potential for specialized growers in the market is even greater.

^ That.

No matter how cheap and plentiful Budweiser is, I will never buy that shit ever. Even though it is much easier and cheaper to go to the corner store and get some cans of old milwaukee, I still somehow end up driving all the way over to the local micro brewery and giving them lots of my hard earned cash. In fact, most of my friends do the same thing.

Cannabis will be the same way. And the morons and teenagers can smoke all the Marlboro weed they want to.

Well thats the point, a lot of small grows don't make big money but rather make enough each grow to have a decent living.

Well that may be the case, but even so this is something that you know is coming, but not tomorrow, so start planning ahead.
I figure we all still have a few years left at least.
There will probably be steadily declining prices, but still enough to make a decent living off of, while transitioning slowly into whatever your next thing is going to be, go back to school, start sending that resume out, or begin planning your legal canna related business now, so when the time comes, you'll be ready to go.

Lots of time for a person with a "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst" attitude to get ready.

Probably not. We talking about "medical MJ" here. This is exactly why MERCK and MONSANTO are interested. Its not everybody that will have the right to grow MEDICAL MJ, for supposed, sick patient.

Not because pills such as "advil" are legal that everybody have right to do those pills and to sell it to their patients. The medical road is the only escape for them, from reefer madness and having to explain 30 years of a lost war on drugs and the so many life they have destroyed.

When cannabis gets legalized, I guarantee you that refined extracts will not be. Yet, the number of people demanding something way stronger is going to increase drastically. So my advice is to start studying up on proper laboratory techniques and safety, and get ahead of the game by learning how to make acetates and other potent, isomerized oils.

Just a suggestion.

Thats OK for one person bro, but here I'm thinking of the millions of people that are the target. Due to the economical situation live its going to be harder, so if we lose this, we in a serious shit bro:)

Why are you talking medical mj here? When it gets legalized it will be for recreational use, not medical.

Because this is what its all about. Obviously Colorado haven't gave no license yet for recreational growers, I could be wrong but they still have the medical laws.

Its time to turn to the darkside
and go back to our roots - illegal sales.
its like riding a bike. not very hard.

basically to stay afloat we're gonna need to turn the clock back.
hop in the delorean, get too 88mph, and hold on.

now, with that, theres another complication.

every single clone thats being passed around right now and sold in clubs and on craigslist and all that shit... what do you think those big production giants are going to be pumping out? the same fucking thing. they are going to grow what the people have been buying. they are not going to try to create a new niche right away they are gonna take that niche thats there and make it theirs. they will eventually create their own private label buds. after some market research lol its just business and how business is done.

if youre making your bread and butter off of some clones that are readily available (commonly grown & passed) at the drop of a hat, well, youre fucked. I mean, you can still do your best to produce better qualilty end product, but your price point is sure going down the shitter with mass availabilty of said buds. sorry. I used to try so hard to think the opposite of that. NOPE. you might be able to scratch something out of growing the same ol same ol. but thats about all.

if you got something no one else has, thats the key. exclusivity is going to be the key to staying afloat for the small time guys. having your own niche to fill, to harvest revenue from, is how its going to be. if you have something nice and youre the only one with it, its only gonna stay nice while you have it. once it floats out the door consider it in the hands of monsato, or whoever else you want to label the bad guy. might as well let them drop a huge net into your stretch of river and take all your fish so you have nothing to eat...

its nice to share and stuff, sure. and the road to hell is paved with good intentions, too....
thinking has to change with the times....

just my thoughts and ideas while im sitting on a rock in the middle of the ocean.....

good luck everybody
