my guy likes to grow a winter beard. I HATE BEARDS. but when I get used to it and start to like it ... time to shave it off for warm weather.

A full beard is much better than those devil looking thingies on their face nasty looking gag!!

Even clams need to keep their beards nicely trimmed.

I do the winter beard thing - or goatee - but usually more of a Sean Connery type beard. Never more than a soul patch any other time of the year.

My girl thinks its sexy as hell. However, the short trimmed whiskers of the 'stache rip her lips (ya, all of them Sat X RB) up. So now Im sporting an Amish - no 'stache.

Take your time with it. You can always trim more off, but its a bitch of a time trying to glue some back on.

Yep. That just looks scruffy as hell, I think, and feels as though your beard is eating your neck. I don't know that I'm a "beard expert", but I've worn one continuously for about 3-1/2 decades now. I trim to the junction point of my neck/underside of the jaw, right where it breaks from the vertical line of the neck.

A neck beard only happens when you do not cut the neck line right. You cut it too high and you get a cheek line, you cut it too low and you get a neck beard. The best way to cut a neckline is to stand in mirror with head level then start cutting all hair you see on your neck and stop when that's complete. Then tilt head up and look to see where a proper neckline should be.

I go 2 fingers up from my adam's apple in the middle then follow my jaw line back on each side. Keeps it from being on your neck, but also keeps it from looking like your beard only grows on your cheeks.

I used to cut my neck line too short. Now I know better and use a U shape from my ears, the low point being my adam's apple.
