Is OGK still the most sought after cut(s) on the boards? ?

Last night I got to do a little trading of OG samples with a buddy of mine. I gave him some Tahoe OG grown by one of my guys and he had some SFV OG and pure kush he had done. I have to say IMO the Tahoe and the SFV look A LOT alike. There are some very small differences in look, but to a untrained eye they could be mistaken for each other very easy. The smell is a lot alike also, but different and same with the taste, but its VERY easy to tell they are closely related. The pure kush on the other hand had a completely different look, smell and taste, a very great look, smell and taste, but different from the OG's. Not 100% sure what pure kush it is but was told they are pretty sure its the hollywood91 cut. Ill be running them all in the next few months so it should be a "Kushy" around my place in 2013:woohoo:.

well since you asked mack... lol

emerald triangle popped them, found GOLD (because Zoo's eye is legit and he knows how to breed how to put a, b, and c together to create something sweet) and proceeded to base a seed line or 4 or 5 off of what they found in the limited number of beans they were gifted.

bottom line is emerald triangle seeds i using Zoos gear under different monikers for their own gain and not sharing any proper due with Zoo.

Is the Lost Coast OG the only winner that ET got from Zoo's beans or do you know of others?

ill have to ask Zoo when he gets back...
I thought I heard him tell me there we 4 or 5 strains they released that are based on his breeding work.
but i get really high alot. i could be wrong.

btw im not saying all their stuff is tainted... just saying they arent classy folks. and they arent talented enough to do all the work themselves that they claim. lol

for whatever that is worth.

hahahahaha

my guess is that it's probably just the Lost Coast OG... definitely one of the backbones of their line. i didn't get the impression you were saying ET lines are tainted... quite the opposite. it definitely is too bad that they didn't give Zoo the props he deserved, but imho once you acquire genetics they are yours to do with what you please. while it's dishonest to pass someone else's work off as your own, once you acquire genetics you have the right to do with it whatever you please (unless you made some sort of agreement in order to get those genetics in the first place). nothing wrong with standing on the shoulder's of giants... it's how we got here in the first place.

That aint how it works...fuck those guys

this could be said of a whole lot of breeders these days ...
cant count how many have created a line from single packs of my work or even a single cutting..
hence the reason i will never offer a seed for sale ...

its a shady business..on one side you have people bitching and complaining that you arent "for the love" and just handing out your strains left and right...and on the other side you know that just handing out rare coveted things will let some other pollenhacker cash in on it instead..

They (ET) tried to make up by offering him a 2 page article in weedworld magazine. but they wanted him to rave about ET, not tell the truth about the genetics

I want to say Weedworld owns emerald triangle seeds. <<< that is second hand info though and I cannot confirm it completely...

im not a fan of the magazine, but if could be lolsy to see some one from high times pulling their mouths of arjans dick and and give zoolander a page. would deffo buy that one.

You are basically giving those people exclusive rights to make money off of your work by not selling it yourself. A better idea would be to sell it and make it widely available. Otherwise, you are just contributing to making the stuff desirable because it is rare. You are enabling those people to make the money instead of you. If your shit is super dank, make it available to everyone at a good price.

Anyone who comes up on the beans can simply selectively pollinated or openly pollinate, and start "making it their own".
Which it is. AND IT ISNT. not at all.....

Its their version and use of the breeders vision. Their take, so to speak.

**edit: doesnt matter what generation the seeds are from F1. NOT AT ALL. **

In music, if you borrow some riffs or something and use it in your own song, you have to give credit and royalties to the original writer. And if you don't, you get taken to court... Kinda like what happened with the Verve and their track "Bittersweet Symphony". Its a bad ass song. But they ripped off the Rolling Stones. And it was settled (not decided by a judge or arbitrator... mutually settled out of court hmmmm) 100% of the royalties from that track go to Richards & Jagger.
Keith Richards nailed it when asked about how things shaked out with the royalties:
If The Verve can write a better song, they can keep the money."

too bad we cant litigate plagerism in regards to seed breeding.... the fear of losing money is sometimes the only thing that keeps people honest....

what a shame....

to get things rolling the right way again....

got some triangle and legend and unknown and louis xiiv going on.... but intuition tells me valley gonna hold onto the crown.
but ive been wrong before and heard nothign but good things about legen & triangle both.
the louis is way viney. BUT... its very vigorous.

anyways, here's a Valley OG pic
I love this plant. I see some folks starting to acquire it more and more.
Its my favorite og to grow and smoke thus far....

It's hard to trust anyone in this seedy business. Too many vultures out there chomping at the bit to profit off of other people's hard work.

There is certain strains I wont even talk about because I don't want to hype them up for all of these fly by night seedsters to capitalize on hype.

The shill's are hard to stomach too.

Hard work is hard to come by these days.. intricate stories of soldiers rescuing long lost seedlines from the secretive Taliban during a fire fight caused by pent up sexual frustration in an American reconnaissance unit from a nude photo of lady gaga etc. Not just anyone can come up with such awesome tales.. ya gotta have talent for that stuff. I say the person who invents these "legends" deserves every penny they can get for their "legendary" salesmanship in the seed business. A true entrepreneur so to say, ehh Obs? LOL I applaud thee!

Ok folks, we did such a great job of keeping this thread on topic and cordial for quite some time. Let us please get back on topic which is OG, not who created what seeds or who sells which seed. Ultimately there are tons of OG knock offs out there, and truly very few of the OG crosses available in seed really stack up to the old school cuts. Most people making OG crosses are looking to keep the taste, smell and effect of OG and the crosses just can't do it. I am not badmouthing anyone or the work they have done, and plenty of the crosses are fantastic varieties, but they are different from the cuts and there is just something so special about the old school OG cuts (Tahoe, SFV, Larry, Fire, Valley and a select few more).

While I agree there is something special about the original cuts, and some are so hard to get, it's more like a game that us collectors play, the more work people do with these lines, the more consistent the results are in seed form. As it has been stated, the OG is a great breeder. Even without the dad having OG in it, most og cuts will produce relatively high OG leaning hybrids.

Personally growing Scott's og from seed, I am very impressed. It is the first og I have grown from any seed company. Every plant I have is OG kush all the way. All slightly different, but every single one would pass as bomb og kush. Not saying they're as good as the cuts I have, but they are all worth running again and exploring. I have seen in state results test Scott's og at 24.6% thc as well. I have one that looks like it could be that super strong pheno. The resin looks noticeably different. They aren't the cuts used in making it, but I have those too, so who cares? Moonshine did a great job working his male.

You know I respect you , but I think that is a bad reason . Imagine if others thought like that the community wouldn't be where we are today . There are several folk now who make their gems available some which are pure an great breeding material

How about Sams when he came to Holland he spread his stock an bam the majoirty of what became big names an made folks a lot of money an is still in heavy rotation today was because of him .Nevil falls along those lines aswell

I'm not telling you anything you don't know we all have our feelings i respect yours . But think about this if you haven't already you could change da game is the mist of OG .From what i recall had some unique stock which seemed top notch it's time for some new flavor

My just spare change

Kosher Kush
Day 64

This is my first run with the Kosher Kush, and she is 2 days from harvest. So far she reminds me of OG leaning towards the Tahoe OG side of the OG spectrum. Very intense fuel and pine smell, with very little but still present lemon fuel undertones

She is the most vigorous OG I've ever grown and also the heaviest yielding OG I've worked with. I have only smoked samples a friend grew and I really liked it, so i have high hopes for this plant

AFOAF sourced the cut long before the S1's were released, and it was sourced from personal acquaintances of the DNA/Reserva Privada guys....and it's the same cut that a local MMC in town has won many awards with...with that said, I assume it's the original cut and not from the S1's that are now being sold.

Hells Angels OG Kush
Day 51

I've had this cut for a while but never got a good run off of her due to a broad mite problem I used to have. This is my official first run of the Hells Angels OG. She a bit finicky during veg, but she is still turning out nice. She is very chunky with nice nug structure. She reminds me of the Ghost OG in terms of smell, but grows much nicer than the Ghost OG in my garden

I will chop her around day 65
