If yas`re gonna DIY it GMW , my thoughts about the undercurrents is overkill is underrated......

Bigger pumps , bigger flow lines , top off rez tanks to keep solution level from droppin and risin constantly causin cordroot formation......and you`re right......

Lotta bells and whistles in any fast hydro setup Bro....and hey......

Delta 9`s PPK setup costs waaaay less to set up with an all but bulletproof system and no chance of rootrot.......period......but......

I know it`s hard not ta run whatchas`re used to , but the PPK`s are pulse fed these days and not really considered as "passive hydro" like they were in the onset of the development......anyways......

Just tryin ta help......Go check out "A wicked pulse" and HL45`s thread in vert forum for bigger plants......

Undercurrents work , but they take constant maintenance and perfect conditions with rez chillers to prevent shit goin south and killin plants from elevated rootzone temps guaranteed......but........

I know you`ve got experience and would make shit work , I was just tryin ta save yas some cash and give yas options that require little maintenance......

D9`s setup is an up and comer......bet on it....

Good luck and.....

Peace....DHF......:ying:.......

Thanks DHF, man i wish i would have the time to read like i used to, new setup ideas always poping up. The wicked pulse thread is great. but dont have alot of the things to create that setup. an those poly slip lock fittings arent cheap.

i had that big 7ft hood running last winter. 5 gal buckets, i top dripped 24/7. 3-4 inches of water in the bottom with airstones. i seen some of the fastest growth i have ever witnessed. when i went into it, i did not realize how much veg time i needed to cut back on. i was used to the ebb& gro flood buckets. usually 3 week veg from small established clone.

Things got to big to fast, outgrew the hood an had to do wayyyyyy to much chopping 20 days in.

these days i dont have problems with rot.knock on wood. firm believer in letting bacterias an zymes battle it out in my solutions. they do all the work i dont bleach or h202. just rinse with water an clean the hydroton an leftover root mass, within reason.

thinking 5 gal main bucket, 1 inch return lines. 3 gal bucket with hydroton an plant. 1/2" top drip rings runing 24/7. 4 inches of water in the 5 gals with airstones. chiller on the feed lines. I think i have everything already other then the 1" hose an fittings..

hummm. the wheels are turning!!!

b-safe an have a great new year..

So some time ago i seen some warehouse grows using pvc pipe . Found some 6 inch pipe an built a system custom to a room i added. wanted to try something like this for awhile. an while it worked well, it has its ups an downs.

did the math an spaced the net pots 13 inches apart which gave me the approx volume of 2gal hydroton per plant. 1 gal upstream from the net pot and 1 gal downstream basically.. 3 600's, co2, ran mh first 20days, hortis till day 65 or so

while at first i almost ripped it down about 15 days in. then at 30days in i felt i was 10 days behind on bud development. then day 45-65 there was absolutely ridiculous bud delvelopment. My downfall there was i didnt veg more then 3-5 days in the system. they simply did not have a well established root system,an the first 25-30days into flower suffered severely. had some heat issues too.

built this quick drip emitter with 1/8th hose an a hot glue gun & 1/2" tees. pictures dont show but the drip emitters where upstream to each net pot. 30 min drip on, 30 min drip off. 27 gal res( which could have been bigger) water temps average 80's , wow thats warm!!!! end of pipe dumped back into rez.standard 1/4 inch plumbing drop every 4 feet

Looking killer gman! I am still wanting to try out one of your crazy home made systems one of these days. Can't wait to see what you do next time when you actually let them establish roots before you flip them, impressive as always man. Just one thing be careful of the sloppy chick behind ya playin' with your ear :).

ottooooo.... good to see u. yes u should run a system soon...... i wouldnt say there crazy systems. but i tell you, you learn hydroton an you will walk away from that coco of yours! there is nothing like a medium that barely holds on to the nutes and or moisture you feed.

i know that sounds weird. But with hydroton there is no such thing as over watering, only under oxygenated roots or area. so u make that water move, an the rest will follow as long as the water never lays stagnate.

the final run of the 6 inch tube sytem im pushing 25+ days of veg. gotta rock it before the heat hits..

that hydroton is pushing 5+ years. just rinse an repeat!

the g13 is the strongest plant in terms of thc i think i've ever had in my garden. i may be wrong, but i've only had 4 things tested before , so??.

the G13 tested tested at over 21% thc. an like .5 cbd an .5 cbn an something like another 4% other . something something something ..

beautiful indica large leaved plant. abit slow to grow but very very strong stout structure. monster stems. very dense but can bring on mold if not watching.( run before had some mold spots, Had to top cut major colas early) she really keeps her trichs on her flower.

had the chem sis to her left, 3rd run on her , but dont think shes staying.

ras, good to see u. hydro kung fu sounds interesting. funny u say kung fu, i really wish i had a sensei to teach me along the way.

wait till the new room if things stay on track!! things get bigger & my ceilings gets bigger! looking at 8 1k with 3ft parabolics, top drip recirc swc in 5 gals undercurrent meets water farm. some supplemental 600 mh lighting. then side lighting. i may even break out the oxygen concentrators to run my airstones. undercurrent meets waterfarm
