Hey bobble, read a bit about it, but never gave it a go. I might have to now if it makes that much of a difference, but I can't say I get a lot of chlorophyll as it is.. Are we talking potency, flavors, both?? Gotta get you a sample to properly compare ;)

Just recently I got into mixing my concentrates, and the flavors brought out when dabbing some fine dry sift mixed with the et oil definitely took the prize... Followed closely by melty water hash/et oil... I never cared for the taste of bubble as much as a clean dry sift though.

They all taste a bit different, have different nuances to the high, and certainly all have their place... I don't think I could ever pick just one, but concentrates will always be number one for me! Man I could dab and discuss this topic all day :D

Good vibes

lol I don't do concentrates anymore cause then when I smoke buds I don't get high.. and I definitely prefer some fine buds over hash. Then there's the part where I get way too high all the time when I have tons of wax laying around...

With the alcohol, water filtering is going to make a big difference I promise. Your product looks very nice, no doubt. :tiphat: but you said you haven't used butane? cause get yourself some vector butane and make some wax with that... holy shit. Way better flavor as the chlorophyll is left behind but all of the good stuff is extracted. Butane is very volatile however... So a less volatile solvent might be a better choice... Anyway, water filtering will make your hits so smooth you'll think you're breathing vapor. You can get the separatory funnels fairly cheap on ebay.

Good idea on the silicone Easy - that would definitely do the job! :good:

So I'm thinking about another BHO run, for shits and giggles. I feel like I've learned (or think I've learned) a thing or two in terms of improvement on the first attempt..

I think I can use my Pump n' Seal to do a vacuum purge.

DSC01290.JPG

But I need to understand more the post-butane-blast process.. Some general questions - thinking out aloud, but feel free to chime in :whistling:

- Is a big pyrex square pan the best to blast into? Or could I get away with blasting into a mason jar? (No transfer to vacuum, but would definitely be a much thicker/deeper layer of oil to work)

- When is the time to do the vacuum purge deal? After working it for how long/to what texture/blahblah?

- Vacuum just once? Or vacuum, work, vacuum, work, etc.. ?

:nono: Sheesh. There's a lot I don't know. On second thought I owe y'all some readin' before you owe me your time and answers.

Thanks avinash.!

So do I do the whipping and all of that jazz right when I blast, before I leave it sit for a few days?

..And after the few days, just come back, scrape it up, throw it into the jar, and vac/heat/vac/heat/vac/heat?

:thank you:

im not convinced that whipping works to do anything really but create the illusioun of making it purge "faster". just blast, then let it dry naturally in pyrex, you can gently shape it during this time but hard whipping should only be done between heat vac heat vac heat vac, if at all.

:thank you: avinash.!

The pump-n-seal needs to work on a mason jar, .. So I'm imagining the process oughtta go like this:

1. Blast into pyrex
2. Leave it alone, let it evaporate & harden on its own
3. (day or two later) Scrape it together, move it from the pyrex dish to my mason jar
4. Heat (figure I'll just set it in a warm water bath)
5. Vacuum/purge (pump-n-seal)
6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 a few times..

..?

Also picked up a 220 bag for dry ice tinkiner'.. :chin:

It's here!

It's here!

:window:

..and so begins the multi-state holiday shuffle for this hawaiian.

Traveling and then coming back to do the hosting gig (and then traveling with guests again) starting tomorrow, so I thought I'd get this note up now, since who knows when I'll have some time soon, y'dig?

Let's start here, duh:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEvGKUXW0iI

Wishing everyone some good time with family and friends and company and all.. Everyone, be safe! Lots of :eggnog: ain't good before gettin' in the motorcoach, ..

We've all got plenty to be thankful for, right? Aside from the awesomeness cookin' in my life that I'm not even sure I deserve, things are mostly hunky dory in the garden too! As soon as I rid the house of company, it's doomsday :tree: for:

Oh. On the yellowed ND, I'm starting to suspect I may've had the blumats too tight at one point, and I'm wondering if it didn't suffer from insufficient water for a stretch.. ? Not terribly sure if that's the case, since I didn't see any real wilting, but it's about all I can think of. Anyway, it seems like it may ripen just fine, albeit with a less'n satisfying haul..

The new year will get off to a relatively slow start in the flower room. Got some new stuff cookin' on the veg side, and once these next 4 come down, I'll either do some cloning or pop a few more beans. Kind of a matter of timing - hoping for some beans to arrive, but if they don't, then it's on with the show with whatever I've got lyin' around here.. Which is more'n, .. Yeah.

Just tossed the Goat mama into the flower room last night. She's about 18" tall. That'll be a wrap on the Goat for now..

She's accompanied in the flower room this round by the old ND mom, who's about 30" tall when she went in - I expect big things out of this one..

Oh! Anyone hip to this stuff? http://www.alldayorganics.com

Saw it in the shop the other day, and it piqued my interest - mostly because it's local..

And in honor of a good ol' fashioned Charlie Brown holiday..

Anyway - best greetings to and wishes for all! :thanks:

ya when you put into the mason jar then "hot water bath" you can also use a hair dryer or ceramic heat gun on it, from bottom of jar, on top, sides.... a lil more control
enjoy your shufflings hawaiian

What to do, what to do..

What to do, what to do..

'keedoke. I've successfully had a stall between rounds again, which is less'n successful. So I gotta start, .. Something.

5 spots available. Only 1 plant to cut on right now - ND. Kind of feelin' like mixin' it up (just finished one, finishing two more, just started a 30"er, got two more about 6")..

If some cuts could be quickly sourced, that'd be sweet, but always a blessing and never an expectation.

So I'm thinking I ought to start some seeds. :) And as sure as I'm behind on the next round again, I'm also expectedly unsure just which beans should be next. There are plenty to be gone through, but a few do pique my interest:

Gunk - N. California Goo x Deep Chunk

Old Grandad (a staple - and it would be nice go get a solid Kush back goin' on)

Bubba Ho-Tep - Decapitation (Bubba kush coffee pheno) x Insane Banana Kush F9

Mandala Hashberry

Any input? I'd put up a poll, but I can't decide if I'm too lazy, or it's too lame and blatantly indecisive. :artist:

been there done that. blumats are great, but they are finicky little bastards too.

Ya know, I've evolved my blumat usage big time this last run and couldn't be happier...

Now I'm in straight coco, so definitely something to consider...

I just built my new room, fit for drain to waste with all the drainage bells and whistles so plants aren't sitting in runoff. Now I went ahead and set up the blumat lines and installed them, but have been running straight water. I still try to feed daily by hand watering and letting runoff drain, but incase I can't make it, or have something come up, the blumats will take care of everything for a few days no problem (aka too drunk to water, which we both seem to have that issue occasionally!!)

I've been keeping the blumat res filled with a minimal amount of water, so even if there is a flood or a runaway, it's no big deal and doesn't leave water all over my floor. Just two or three gallons at a time, and it lasts because I'm also handwatering.

Honestly, couldn't be happier with how it has worked out. No worries of salt build up in the lines... And even if the res does run dry, It's easy enough to purge the lines, and reset the blumats... When they aren't the sole source of your waterings, they work fantastic, and I think many would get back on the blumat wagon using them this way, as opposed to trying to feed everything through the lines.

Cause once you set it, it really is set it and forget it unless something starts to run. And with the hand waterings, there isn't a risk of having the blumat just a smidgen to tight resulting in the yield issues I ran into as well while using them...

My .02 but I'm back on the blumat wagon, just not for all your feedings... Ya know we don't put all our eggs in one basket when growing, so why when watering and feeding??!?!

Peace homie, have a happy holiday season! Mmmm, can't wait for that food!

Hashberry, I reckon it shall be.

Edit: Oh! LouDog, don't get me wrong - I ruv the brumats. I've experienced the occasional runaway, and every time, I think to myself, "See? That's what you get for f*ckin' with it." .. And it's usually after :friends: :shucks:

Still a little perplexed - not sure that's what happened.. I'm pretty good about giving everyone a little lift-test when I'm poking my dumb head in there. I feel like I've had noticed if she were extra light - and like I said, there wasn't ever a period of "Wow they look really wilted and tired.." :dunno:

I'm running in organic dirt - the blumat rez is full of set-out water, and (per gal) 5 ml ful power, 5 ml sm90, and 2 ml proteKt.. Feedings are with tea, and early on, everyone gets a few shots of Orca - all by hand of course :tiphat:

What I need to do is figure out to rig another rez for finishing plants - so they can still be on the autofeed program, but with just plain water and ful power.. Space is at a premium, so I need to finger where I can rig another shelf to hold ~ 40 lbs, at an elevation sufficient to be spectacularly sensational in its abilities to awesomely deliver da damned drank.

..also would like to finally get my veg broads on to the blumat scene as well. .. or, at the least, set up that jabrone Oasis watering deal I have from the pre-blumat days..

next time we meet I'm gonna brew you some of my CAPS bennies and you put that shit on your plants and tell me you won't be buying it 1 week later. and forget about the blumats dude... just rig everything up DTW with a collection reservoir or a drain pump. No more runaways or dry outs. Just my $0.02.

Merry Christmas Silver. 2013 is going to be a very exciting year. ;)
