In vegging you mean veg before flowering right? T5 is nice for veg but if you want to light a 4.5x4.5 ft with T5 you need a lot of T5 to cover your area! 1 plasma lamp would not be enough either. Fine for mothers and cuttings but if you want to start off a grow you want a lot of light on it. If you only can use 300W for veg, how much do you use for flowering?

6x12 is not handy for a plasma light which has a square field. Now is it 4.5x4.5 you use or 6 x 12??

I would use a combi of plasma and HPS. For veg dim the HPS and pump it up when going into flowering. So you have more plasma light in veg (relative).

18 hrs veg/12 hrs flowering means that your flowering light should have at least 50% more light to get the same DLI in flowering as in veg:

Vegetative
800 µmol m-2 s-1
18 hrs
DLI: 51,84 mol m-2 per day

Generative
1200 µmol m-2 s-1
12 hrs
DLI: 51,84 mol m-2 per day

Read about DLI
My veg room is 6x12. All I need to light up is 4.5x4.5 to cover my 12 plants that are in 5 gallon totes.... SO again, my questions is would a Gavita Plasma heat up a 6x12 room or would it be OK? Also didn't Herbalizor VEG a 5x5 area with one Plasma in his last grow?? Then in flower he introduced two 600W Gavita's?? Pretty sure he did??

My flower room has three 1000W Gavita's. Since this is my first grow I'm currently vegging in my flower room under one 1000W Gavita. Plus I'm also vegging in my Veg room under T5's. Once the first grow is done then my flower room will only be used for flowering and Veg room for vegging on a 2 month cycle. So all plants in veg will get 2 months to turn into some nice bushes!!!

Of course the plants under the Gavita have exploded in growth the 5 days they have been under that light but the T5's are doing a great job as well considering there is actually only 228W being used by the six 4ft tubes over those plants. If the Gavita Plasma can't perform better than the 228W of T5 I'm using right now then I'll just stick with the T5's!!

Here are a few pics, one of my flower room, one of my girls being vegged under the Gavita and one of the girls being vegged under the T5's

Also like I have already stated I cannot go over 300W of use for Veg because of power. Go over a certain limit and I run the chance of a city inspection. Not worth the hassle!

You are lighting 4 square meters with the Gavita Pro 1000 set at 600W at the moment :D. If you really want to see the difference you should hang the light a bit closer. If the plants are established they can deal with 600-800 umol easily. Which means that you should not light more than about 1,5 square meters (dimmed to 600W the DE lamp does about 1.69 umol/W. At 1000W it does 2.07 umol/W).

But T5 or PL is a perfectly good way of vegging, nothing wrong with that. I did and do it often. The spectrum is a bit better for veg as well. The 228W T5 you can easily replace with a plasma lamp but I would suggest much more light on your vegging crop. You can easily get 400W/m2 density with T5, but you need a few more tubes there... about 8! ;).

Right now the one gavita is set to 660W and is covering roughly 1.5 meters squared. Ill probably up wattage to 725W this week. I'm going to see how this first run goes. Especially the first veg under T5's. if I feel plants didn't grow to my standards ill purchase a gavita plasma to veg under.

ok, the picture showed a much larger surface. Enough light in veg is important for the rest of the development of the plant. For 600-800 umol you needn't go higher than 600W on that surface as I calculated for you.
