260W hybrid micro SOG - small pots, multistrain

Hi IC :)
this is my third run, I'm running a 150W Hps and a 110W Pll, with 1 liter pots (1/4 gal), 12/12 from clone.
It's basically a Dr Bud style SOG, with an hps in VERT position for final stages and plls to keep plants short in first stages. These and other ideas that follow in this thread come all from threads on IC or elsewhere.

First two grows I run a combination of mostly 2.5 liter pots, and a few 1 liter, and now this is the first run with small pots only. I've been hitting 40g /month until now, that would be 120g in three months on 260W, so not that much.
I already know that SCROG as well as other methods yeld more, but I'm curious to see what I can hit with this setup first.

SETUP:

- 150W HPS
- HPS digital ballast 150W
- 110W PLLs from SJ, 2 x 55W (I use one warm and one white bulbs)
- analog timer
- hygro/thermo digital (my temps top 30-31 °c, with 23-24°C low, and humidity is always between 30-40%)
- 1liter pots (number vary)
- DP90 tent (2x3x2' H) 60x90x60cm height
- 15cm inline extractor with 15cm, 1 meter cable. Passive intake covered with cardboard boxes
- 20cm desk fan on the floor, in the middle, blowing upwards

SOIL: Plagron Light mix (allows me to start ferting the 3rd week)

LUIQUID PH TEST from GHE

FERTS:

I only use 1/2 strenght (2ml/l - 1/4gal) or 1/3 strenght of Bionova organic all soil mix, from the third week until flush.
and 1/2 (0,5 ml/l - 1/4gal) or 1/3 strenght of Bloombastic, when they show hair.
I water with plain water every two feedings, or one if I've been heavy handed : )
I use a drop or two per liter (1/4 gal) of superthirve, every two feedings.
Sometimes I use molasses, blackshard, instead of the Bloombastic.
A complete scheme of my feedings are linked to in my sig, second run, first page. Log stops when it gets redundant...

I PH water to 6.5 with a carbon active Keg all the time, and I flush for 10 days/2 weeks on average.

PC for Mothers:

I have a PC for mothers, with two 20W cfls and a 12cm fan exhaust. Now there are only two wappa mothers (diff phenos).

As a CLONER, I've used party cups but now I'm trying with one container for all the cuttings, so that I change the water once.
Inside there's water with 1/4 strenght ferts and a couple drops of superthrive. But I haven't understood if plain water is better or not. Many say so.

I have a 50% rate of rooting, luckily I get a lot of cuttings from the nanomoms...

***
NOTE: last two runs were posted in the vert section, I'm moving to micro because my setup is micro, it's just got the lamp that's vert and has nothing to do with the monstrous :) setups they got there.

C ya!

Strains are Wappa, Ice Cream from PS and Shiva from SS.
There are 15 plants atm but I think this can be incread up to 20-25 easily. Bad rooting rate haven't let me put more in it for now.

I'm posting the pic of the biggest plant so far :) a Wappa, of whom I kept the mother. The other Wappa pheno is as big as this one.

This is 7 weeks, 10 days to go approx. Just started flushing.
I'm also trying other clone shapes, but this one looks convincing.

And a couple of other pics (with cell phone):

Off to a smashing start man. That wappa looks fantastic. Good luck with the cloning. I struggled for ages with it, then I nailed a method that worked great for me, just a matter of tweaking things. I don't add any ferts to my clones, althought next time I am going to add a drop of Superthrive to see if that does anything. I always forget to add it when I water, I want to get into a better habit with it.

Happy farming, stay safe.

that's really interesting :) thanks.
I'll try with ST only, too, when I first change the water (the new cloner is 3 days old).
Thank for the visit mate =>

EDIT: I'v read on IC that ST contains some rooting hormones, so it may as well be the only needed. Some success stories from ppl using water only too, as you report.
I've added ferts since I saw some cuttings showing deficiencies 3-4 days after being cut (they were flowering and died anyways) but it may be overkill.

Looking great!

What's the lineage on the Wappa?

I'd try all the cloning methods you can and stick with the one that works best for you. Open air cloning with oasis cubes works great for me. I had piss poor clone rates with aero/bubble/mister cloners.

That wappa does look nice root. I have a couple wappa clones going now and that is the exact result I hope to get 1 big fat nugsicle. Im in cfl though so w shall see. Subbed for this one for sure. Heard great things about ice cream and pegged it as one of my next grows.

hi blynx :)
unfortunately I don't know the lineage, only general info on the package, which mirrors the website...
I can only say it's the strain I run most and 9 seeds all germed and performed solidly, so far :)

cloning has been quite tough, but I'm confident too I'll find what suits me. I'm starting with moving clones to a warmer spot, it's chilly where they are and rooting rates worsened when temps dropped.

hi chloe, happy to hear you got something cooking, again!
With clones you should get what you say, mine all behaved quite alike, fat and dense.
imho with cfls you should get similar results, not far anyway: the plant you refer to spent one month since start of flowering under the plls, and was already bigger than the others finishing, but with many branches instead of a single cola.
Ice cream has been easy growing. I haven't tried it yet as it's curing atm, but looks like she's nice from samples :)

great grow man ! getting realy interested on doing a small scale sog with 50cl beer cans with aero holes poked all over by a tiny needle and a half redbull on top of that its called the tired method ppl say its great u might wanna try that out if you can have more mothers or if u are stocked with seeds . the clone prob you talking about .. u use some sort of clonex ? peace :tiphat:

ericforeman welcome to the forums :)
I've never heard of that, I'll look it up.
I don't use clonex, but1/3 fert water and 3 drops S.T. approx, but I'll lose the ferts next time I change the reservoir.
I'm definitely interested into soil variants, like ppk or hempy or wick, but I haven't made my mind up yet.

Hi man! Ti ho beccato anche questa volta ! Bel progetto! Buon cultivo! Hola fratello!

I dig the group shots. Does your experience tell you more smaller plants yields higher than a few larger ones?

That Wappa is a hell of a plant to be in that small of a pot. Curious how you like the Ice Cream as I have one finishing and have not smoked any.

Cool having you here bro, great setup will follow this one absolutely :)

thanks for the welcome opiumo!
I'll try to document it well :)

hola mass! m'hai beccato lol :-D

thanks kindest :)
I've hit 13-15-17g dry per plant on average: in 2.5 l pots. last 3 ice creams i weighed today were 12.9, 14.5 and 14.9.
the first two were single cola in 2.5 l pot, no veg, while the latter had two weeks veg.
bigger pots bigger yeld in this setup, not much bigger though, probably due to height restraint anyways.
now I'll weigh plants in these pots, 1l, to see if they yeld more, being more in number.

hi yesum :)
I just smoked some now, dry for 5 days, and it isn't bad. quite harsh but stoney happy... I guess at this stage it just isn't ready.

Hi
56 D flowering wappa, 5-7 days to go.
two shivas of the same 4-batch and shape are smaller, much smaller.

Holy hell those look so amazing. Wappa seems like a great sog strain because of how massive the single cola gets.

thank you man ;)

I'm amazed too... good structure for this kind of grow, both phenos!
Edit: maybe, supercropping done when they started flowering has helped? I read plant's vascular system rebuilds itself stronger - if that is so, I'm going to break every leg :D
