Big backyard! I want 200 gallon smart pots someday!

In the meanwhile I am working with what I have, and the cold weather is bringing my temps down. Just got a little space heater to keep things above 70:
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354568492.724530.jpg

It brought my canopy temps up 10 degrees in a couple of minutes! It might take a day or two to get the right thermostat setting, but it seems like a decent solution. I also got a small humidifier to keep the air a bit more moist. It feels primordial in there now... Rawr!

Also, I figured I would get the netting up before the plants got too much bigger. Here's a shot just as the light flicked on:

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354568749.760639.jpg

Only thing left is putting in an extraction fan. I can get by without one for now, but will need to lightproof the tent prior to flowering, and that will require attaching some ducting where the passive exhaust currently is on the "roof".

No signs of sex yet but I have my hunches. The haze is growing like crazy- it actually might be fun to wind it all over the room. It's super floppy and I have to entertain myself somehow while I wait for the SB to veg.

So- we're going for the hot steamy dank jungle cul-de-sac grow, in which one can peer through the dense spidery vines of Haze and discover rock hard dark green golf balls of Sour Bubble. I will also try and acquire a Velociraptor for ambience. Wish me luck.

It's been about 10 days since I topped the plants and placed the cuttings into water, and I thought I would check for roots. Look what I found:

Guess my cloning box environment is pretty tuned in! Still no clear signs of sex from the cuts.

Woke up to some good news about a surprise bonus at work! Definitely not the typical Monday. I decided to get my plants some early Xmas gifts at the local hydro mart:

Fancy mister to avoid hand cramps:

Foliar spray wetting agent:
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1355178467.831034.jpg

Also got that dechlorinator solution there. I use tap water and it's a pain leaving it sitting around while waiting for the chlorine to evaporate.

Also bought one of those disposable C02 bags:

Temps are good- at 78 almost constantly. All of the new growth is beautiful, especially since I put the humidifier in. I've been having to brew up my Earth Juice inside the tent and that's helping the humidity as well. Here's a group shot after a nice foliar spray with Neem Oil and SM-90:

Just a waiting game now- once they're sexed the ladies will get a final transplant from their 3 g pots to 10 g ones. Should be able to flip in a couple of weeks now that things are so healthy in there.

Bring on the Buds buddy!

are you working off clones now or seeds? I hope you are starting to save some
keepers there.

Hi Nephrosis- SB is not a big yielder and I am making a lot of mistakes, so I would think I'd be lucky to get 2 oz per plant. The big one may be closer to 4. I am hoping for a half pound plus.

Chunky- yo! Didn't make it out for the Emerald Cup? Good eye on that front plant- it's one of the 2 haze x skunk plants I have left. I kept the indica phenos and tossed the sativa ones. I am still horizontal but we'll see what happens after they show their sex. I have decent clones of the plants, although my dog ate about half of them last week while they were getting some fresh air in the backyard.

I am having a blast with the cloning and labeling and selection, and I can't stop dreaming at night about what I want to do the next day. Next on the list is to buy another ballast and set up a veg space for the clones. They are in my small cabinet under t5's and will need a new home. Should be able to squeeze out two harvests before it gets too hot here. I decided to do another greenhouse grow this summer despite a new city ordinance prohibiting outdoor growing. Turns out they warn you first and there are fines later for non compliance. I don't anticipate any problems. So... Soon I will be on the search for the ultimate hot weather sativa strain. Thinking maybe Haze or C99. Maybe ECSD. Any ideas?

Thanks Truepunk. Just spent the past hour reading grow reports on the SSSDH and it looks fantastic. Seems like it can be susceptible to mold, but it's hot here and the greenhouse can keep it dry in the Fall. The low odor factor is perfect for my situation as well.

Think I am going to take your advice and snag a pack. Thanks!

El Bandito those are some gorgeous ladies you have there in your space my friend. Very nice looking canopy :good:

If I'm not mistaken, did you flip on the 2nd? If so, your girls and my girls are only 1 day apart in 12/12 which would make for a good race! :shark:

In all seriousness though, glad to see you back at it again with an indoor run mate. A grower of your enthusiasm shouldn't be limited to only 1 outdoor season per year that's for sure. Will be watching closely :smoke out:

Yeah flipped them on the 2nd, and this strain is supposed to finish FAST. The race is on!

This has been a whole new experience, with a ton of challenges. At the moment, I'm trying to adjust to the idea that I don't get to see my plants between 8AM and 8PM. I am accustomed to coming home for lunch (I work five miles from home) and peeking in on my plants several times per day. Twelve hours of agony are spent wondering how they are doing and what they are thinking about. :chin:

When I finally ditch Mrs. Bandito at 7:55 PM and open the tent, I am always holding my breath, wondering what I'm going to see. Has the rogue space heater burned some branches again? Are the plants wilted? See? I'm worried about them right now. =p

I fed them heavily two nights ago and expect to see a bit of leaf twisting and a tiny bit of nute burn. I'll post a couple new pics in a few hours. :watchplant:

Things seem healthy. You can see how much bigger that one plant is- it's two weeks older in addition to the bigger pot. I am eager to identify and cull the males but I have no idea yet. Of course, they all look like females to me. Here's a close up shot of one of the tops on that big plant:

Tonight when I opened the tent I got hit with a pretty strong smell. It's definitely going to get dank in there.

Last night I pulled each plant for watering and I examined them with a loupe. Looks like an even 50/50 split on males and females. 3 sour bubbles and one OHxS. The big plant that takes up a third of the tent is a female and the only potential keeper of the group as far as a mom goes. The other 3 aren't really vigorous and one of them is the runt.

The haze x skunk plant is pretty bushy though. More transplants tonight.

save a clone from each...IME the biggest and fastest are often weakest and it's the low yeilders
who have the best effects, but you never know till you smoke em!

That's the bummer, Chunky- the runt is the one that I don't have a clone of. The last one finally died this week. The plant is cursed! I do, however, have clones of the other ones, and I can always try to snag a flowering clone and revert it to veg.

Day 15 of flowering. Could time go by any slower? :watchplant:

Lots of growth in the past week! The plants responded well to the bigger pots and heavy feeding. This is probably the healthiest they have looked for the whole grow. Temps hanging jn there at 74 lights on, 65 lights off, RH 40-45.

I kept the beefiest male specimen of both strains to collect some pollen. I plan to pull them out of the tent on day 21 of flower, and will cut off a few flowers to finish off in a closet inside the house. I can put a CFL in there- just need to make some room. John Travolta takes up a lot of the space.

I bought another pack of Sour Bubble seeds yesterday and have six of them in starter cubes right now. Fun fun!
