Hey Im doing a bucket system og tree grow, and the stems are real purple. My friend says the co2 damaged the plants, and that its not a cal mag deficiency... here are a photo or two.. please advise. Some of the leaves turned yellow as well. He is a real good grower and does the same strain, with killer yields. So I just want anyone out there to give advice on how to save these girls...thnx

well first off, very cool room!!! :joint:

with that said i think you should clean you ph pen with soap and water and then re calibrate it, its prolly that simple of a solution!
also, maybe try flushing your plants low then hitting them with some high , they look a bit hungry!

looking great otherwise! later

Co2 damage plants???... that is the first time I have EVER heard that... thats akin to saying "this oxygen is killing me!"

Purpled or reddened petioles can usually be attributed to either a N- or P-. Given the dark color of the outer leaves coupled with the slightly burned tips, I'm leaning away from a N-. However, seeing those inners yellowing suggests that the plant is using up the available N in those leaves (perhaps what's causing d.f to lean towards a Mg-..?). They look pretty good otherwise, so I'm landing on a slight P-. I see nothing that indicates an issue with Ca.

What had happened was co2 got introduced room 1 was 4 weeks into bud already, and room 2 was 1.5 weeks into flower. They both started at 800ppm and my friend says that we broiught the ppm up too fast. After a few days it was up to 1300ppm and the plants started to get purple stems, and yellowing leaves. We immediately stopped the co2. Room 1 the small tank was empty, and room two was 3/4 empty. Room 2 has about 25 % less damage than room 1. When the strings that tie up the branches are moved the stems are still green where the string was, but the rest of stems purple. The plants got worse for a few days longer, hairs started turning red etc. Then after a few days of recovery, they started pumping out white hairs again, but there is alot of yellow leaves. Room 1 looks like its gonna yield average, but room 2 still looks like its gonna produce alot of meds. Ill try to post some new pics tommorow...

Can the lighting being too close to the plants perhaps boil the plants juices in the stems or something due to too much heat ? Here are a few more photos, even room 3 is getting purple and its only in week 2 of flowering, and has not been exposed to co2 at all. Note the pic where the string was moved and you can see the green stem that was under it. The purple on some is only on the outside of the stem, but not on the inside? I have 2 photos of the same stem, just from front and back...
photo 1 ,2 , 3 are room # 3. Photo 4 is room # 1 almost done, week 7 of flowering, and the last photo is room 2 week 5 flowering. Big difference in bud structure room 2 wasnt affected as bad as room 1.
