Dayum Grey! :tiphat:

OH, No,... not back yet. Still mulling thru personal stuff, and now almost a bit glad everything is gone as I'm wondering how hard the boot heal is gonna come down on our state for moving forward with full legalization.

If the Feds leave us and Wa alone, and let the peoples votes count, I'll be investing in some Haze beans and start trying to dial in some specialty stuff.

If they drop a bomb on the laws, well we may all be fucked.

OH Love our summer weather in winter!!!
Monday a buddy was at a ASA metting and got a call that the DEA was closing their office on this island. But yesterday the Puma was in lower Puna working a light pattern.
I'm still copy cat you, I got some Jack H X Col Gold. Looks like your deck needs some power washing before it rots more. All you need is more to do. lol
Bra Mahalo for the hard work on this log !!!

Was down by the ocean and saw the coast guard flying in land humm then got rained out so went home and asked my wife if the copters were out and she said alot yesterday, It was like no big deal and me I'm all ready for the fire drill. And then in about 10 min here is the silver Hughes and the Puma and now my wife is pissed. Can't they F----- count and how many times do the have to buzz the house and it is grand kid nap time, even more piss off. It seamed like they were just flying to waste money there ain't shit out now. Have fun with the boys Aloha

MrSterling

I try to keep my nose above it all and understand that most police are just doing their job, that you can't blame the cog for the machinations of the machine, but those green harvest guys? They sound like dicks.

OH two quick questions if you please. Someone mentioned you used to grow something you called VietBlacks. Was this ACE's Vietnam Black x Thai, and what was your experience with them?

The older I get the more these mainland winters get less appealing to me. The warmth of Hawaii certainly does sound appealing, but I think I'd miss all my temperate ornamentals and bulbs. I think I'd have to relearn gardening!

Running a couple of days late with this log...

Would you believe the dogs ate the last one?...Kinda.

The pups are now coffee and sugar junkies....thanks to yours truley. They climb up to the desk and swipe coffee....then pull the cup over, dumping the contents on the keyboard. That was like the eighth keyboard they've killed.

Anyway....Life goes on. A little chill is in the air. Shorts are worn less, sweats more. The streak of perfect weather looks to be comming to an end. Looking for rain on Thanksgiving. We've had a deck of high clouds shading the entire island for the last few days. All signs of Winter approaching. We got down to 55 a couple of nights ago. The first front of season is suppose to come through Sunday.

Am I pushing it? Yea, thought so.

Since the Jack Herer is slowly turning to ash, the focus of this log has switched to the clones....and the Midnight Madness. The rest of the MM will be moving to the frigid outdoors this weekend. Here are both phenotypes, larger one planted a couple weeks ago, the smaller about five days ago.

picture.php

They larger one has jumped about a foot in the last week, and is pushing four feet....flowers have yet to organise so we might grab another foot out of her.

That strech of sunshine did the trick on my Skunkdog. I had five of these planted at one time. For some reason these plants do real well here. Two have already have been taken, the other three are ready....when the rain falls ...so do they. My yield is back too. Half lb out of the first.

Wish you all could take a whiff of these.

picture.php

And a red stemmed Skunkdog,

picture.php

Here's the full plant shot. This is the second plant I dug up and replanted. If you look closely at the bottom you will see little sticks used to keep the buds off the ground. There are those weak stems I was bitching about in the last post.

picture.php

The gulch garden is done. Finished the last two planters shown behind the two Skunkdog plants to be taken. Look behind the rosebush. The new planters have....what else? New Skunkdog plants in them. The gulch garden is now ready for the Winter sun track.

picture.php

Now before you think I'm skunkdog obsessed....whatever gives you that idea?....we have some new blood working. Legand OG, Daywrecker, and an Unknown OG have rooted, graduating to the bigger pots. Triangle Kush, Grape Romulan, Dutch Treat, a Blood x Dutch Treat a different cut of the Legand OG starting to show roots in the EZ cloner.

Hey! Told you winter is the time to experiment. Come next long season we will have a Top Five Keepers list.

I'm curious about the Dutch Treat. Years ago it would come in from the Mainland. Every Summer it would flood the market, just as the market dried up. Looked great, smelled great, smoked great....just didn't get you high. Smoke a quarter...no buzz. I wonder if it's grown outside...will it get you high?

Stay tuned...that question will be answered.

Milde...thanks for the overview. The LA was mistreated, had to make the switch from coco to FFOF. Still, seems to be growing slower than everything else.

Grey....Speechless.

Canni...Ain't change fun?

I could easily double the length of this post mulling over what will happen...or could happen. All we'd do in the end is plow the same ground. Only time will tell.

Dirtboy...again Mahalo...much mahalo. Thanks to you the clones had a few more days fattening up.

I was thinking they'd fly here this week. You answered that question...Can't thank you enough. They'll do one more here the week after Thanksgiving....or the first week of December.

Who cares? By that point it doesn't matter...and neither does my deck....let it rot.

Mr Sterling...I never grew Ace's gear. I did a vaguely simmilar cross. I plopped a post with pic in that thread answering a question about how big the cross gets...yea I was showing off. Never called it anything.

Since that time people have been PMing me about that cross. Not one of my smarter moves.

And for the record gardening here is easy. Annuals grow for years, just cut them back. Bulbs I did long ago for one of my accounts. You have to dig them all up, into the freezer for winter, replant in early spring.

M

MrSterling

OH, thanks for the reply. I'm a bit of a bulb nut, and I was thinking of the work involved in digging up and cold treating all your bulbs. It would be pretty *cool* to do, but with the amount of work involved I'd have to be English lord rich just to afford the gardeners .

That was a rude awakening.

About 5:15 AM the dogs went off...I am talking off...as in wake up the entire neighborhood off. At first, it looks like someone took a grab for the plants.

From where the dogs gathered at the fence I doubt they even stepped foot inside. When the sun comes up we will have a better handle on exactly what happened. Went out in the dark and everything was where I left it last evening...so we're all good there.

The pack worked exactly as advertised. Nothing is missing, nobody got hurt, and with the new knowledge gathered....I doubt they will be comming back.

But you never know. Those plants ready, will go today.

Now let's see if I can get back to sleep.

We found the culprits....explained the wake up call.

Dirtboy had the right idea. False Alarm.

His name is Bambi. It is apparantly so dry (doesn't look like it) that the deer are comming to find water. We had this problem a few years back. Owner of the pasture drained the trough on my fenceline, and filled up the top one. That worked last time...don't want to have a replay of this morning anytime soon.

On the good side this was a dry run...see how well the young pups worked with the older mutts...Looked good....they were on it. That's all you can hope for. Next time if we can do this little exersize around noon it would suit us a little better.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Don't ya just love the sound of crickets...

This time of year there's not much going on. It's been drier than usual...far drier. Everything has scooted over to the north side of the gulch for the best sun.

picture.php

I'm going thru' a swichover. Winter has always been the best time to roadtest whatever is lying around. We have a lot of new...at least new to us....blood to test. An unknown OG, Daywrecker, Legand OG, C99 and LA Confidential in the first batch. Triangle Kush, Grape Romulan, Maui Diesel, Gorilla Glue,...a couple of Local cuts.... following close behind. Add to that the Midnight Madness. It's gonna be fun to figure out how what grows....Hype vs Reality....the only way to see what works...is to do the work.

There's some fuckin' words of wisdom....Pay the lady at the door.

While we have all this shit knocking on the door....we have to make room. The five Skunkdog plants yielded a little under two lbs. A couple of Sourdouble are drying now. I've been hoping for rain to give me an excuse to take more....ain't happened yet. Those empty spots aren't doing me any good....so they don't stay empty for long.

picture.php

At the same time we have to keep the Alien Dog, Skunkdog, Chem D, and Sourdouble going. The first three are keepers....so they gotta be kept.

picture.php

Anyway while Grey and myself have the tedious task of testing ahead of us....I can't bring you all with me....I'd like to, but it doesn't work that way....and I'm afraid I'd bore you all to tears with this testing shit.

Speaking of Grey... you guys hear? He entered some...ehhh...OK Skunkdog in a contest that....Ahhh....he swore me to secrecy. Let's just say his was the only outdoor there....and he won fourth place. Shit....He would have did better if he didn't neem the shit out of the poor plant five days before harvest.

Sorry Grey...that part slipped out....don't worry...it's not like anyone really reads this shit...

Who knew judges like neem?

Every year is different....you plan as best you can....but shit happens. This year I thought the big plants from seed would be the way to go. I took ten big plants this year....yielded less than 20 lbs.

In ten months I cycled thru almost 60 clones. Average yield about six oz each. The overflow patches hurt that avg. Roughly the same take as the big ones....worth double on top of that.

So the year is pretty close to pau.

And so is this log....I'll keep it open until the MM is done....but punching out clones is kinda boring. It's not like we all haven't been to this movie before.

why you spilling my secrets bro we talked about this hahahaha

WTG, Grey. Big congrats.

Neem - the modern-day patchouli...? Does neem melt trichomes, or does the soap protect the globular head? I've never used it that deep into flower, just curious. Did you add any flavorings prior to harvest, to 'cover' the unmistakable neem 'essence'?

OH...Have you taken us through hole-rejuvenation or your cloning process before...? Not sure I'd be excited seeing a deck-repair job...but most anything you post is interesting, and quite often informative, lol. Granted, we all have our little grow secrets...but it's not like anyone really reads this shit...

Thanks again for the log. Always an enjoyable experience. :peacock:

rusty, i don't use neem for anything except pm management. im not proud of having to deal with pm, but ive been taught a means of dealing with it that when executed properly is completely undetectable. because there is no nothing to hide.
ask oldhaole....
he's honest and hes seen my shit the next day many times now after ive sprayed and hes had his face all up in the buds sniffing them touching them and he has not once said "you spray neem last night?". unless my boy is hiding some shit from me i dont know about....
but hed let me in on any thoughts its not in his nature to withhold his thoughts - its a great quality i respect.

but oldhaole cracking me up
5 days is a bit of an exaggeration
it was more like 3 days and once while it was hanging up, too hahahaha

yes, gentle reader, im being very sarcastic hahaha.

honestly,
ive sprayed late wk 6 (days 36-42) in flower many many many times. more times than id like but when pm spots shows up on the leaves im not just gonna look at it and light a candle and some inscense. too much vested for me to sit idle and be a hippy.
the neem i use is 100 organic cold pressed with a little soap surficant to spread/stick the spray to the plant. as far as i can tell the neem is absorbed completely by the plant from the outside > in w the foliar application... once in a while if i feel i sprayed way way late to give myself some relaxation and peace of mind ill give the plants a good rinse of plain water a day or 2 before i harvest.

maybe its the way i spray maybe its the way i mix maybe its the way i mix then spray with the way i feed i don't know i can only tell you what happens at the end for me - nothing!!!!

as far as i can tell, folks that say they can tell "something"... they cant tell anything about my pot except its exceptionally good. straight up.
they cant tell my pot is outdoor not indoor. at a contest.
just like they think its organic grown when its fed liquid fertilizer applied. that was at that same contest, too.
they couldnt tell i sprayed nothing, much less late in the cycle.
BECAUSE MY SHIT WAS CLEAN
now all that said about what works for me... maybe it will work for you. maybe it wont. but i use the same techniques now that I was doing when I was growing indoor pot and the only thing that has changed is I am not growing indoors anymore.

itd be best and id prefer to not have to spray anything for anything, but when mother nature throws me a curve ball im gonna adjust my swing and knock that shit over the wall instead

thats the truth....
