I have this now. The orange cord goes to my 1k Gavita.

I am putting in another Gavita and 6 - 1k Horti Blue's.

Can I put a Titan Helios 7 in place of this Box?

Thanks GWE

why would you want to upgrade to that box when the one you have is working just fine? It looks fancy, but your money could be spent on something more useful.

I put the box thats there now because I needed the 240 for the gavita. It was outside for an old hotub. I'm not to sure what I will need for 7 more 1000s. And AC. I'm pulling in cold Michigan air right now.

You need 5.2amp @ 240v per 1k. Most minisplits will be rated on a 20amp breaker. So figure you need 2 30amp circuits for the lamps and a 20amp circuit for the AC, and then 2x15amp 120v circuits for the misc fans/etc. So 3 gauge copper wire and a 105amp breaker from the main panel, and a 100 amp subpanel for the room will work fine.

Could I use 1 60amp breaker for the lamps? Why 2 30amps? They make 105amp breakers?

So take out the 50amp thats there now and change it to a 105amp and put in a 100amp box?

What about a timer for lamps? Thats why I was thinking the helios 7?.

Thanks alot

Actually, you should be running 3 x 20amp circuits - The 240v receptacles that our light ballasts use are rated at 20amp. My bad. I actually ran into this myself. I ran 10gauge wire for my receptacles and purchased the timer I'll mention next, two of them more so, and then realized all the receptacles are 20amp, so I breakered it at 20amp...

What I use for a timer is a waterheater timer from Home Depot. I have two of these - Tho I have only been using one for flower, veg isn't running a 1k and is using a receptacle on a different circuit. GE 24-Hour Electrical Water Heater Timer - 20amp for ballasts.

Have you looked at the guides for making your own light control relay panel? That is a great option. Or have this guy make you one.

Hey guys im back with an update. No electrical hooked up yet but I plan on going tomorrow. Im going to hook it up myself. I took down the white tyvek paper and put up 100ft of Orka Film. Ive got to add another 2 sites to the system and hang the lights. It should all go up quick. Here is the start of things.

Just drywall walls.

I'm no expert, but un-treated walls can mold. Grow rooms are high humidity (usually, they should be) and the space between your wall and film will be a breeding ground of issues. I'd spray (or roll..) them with an anti fungal white paint. And then rock out with the Orca, that shit is supposed to be killer. I use Panda, its a -lot- cheaper and available locally, but Orca is the tits from what I've read!

I had issues in Oregon with my untreated walls molding. Very high humidity up there. I am down in Cali now and the humidity is much lower but I am still going to be treating the walls in my new room.

Yeah, my understanding is you should always treat, especially if they're going to be covered. That said, they don't need to be covered if they are painted with a high reflective matte white (with anti fungal ideally). I did the white paint + panda, as my walls are OSB. I'd def seal any wall used in a grow environment tho, even a concrete wall... But thats just my opinion.

Hey Green - How big is your room? What type of climate control? It -looks- like maybe 12x16 based on drywall sizes (depending if those are 12ft sheets which they kind of look to be)? 8k in there..Nice!!

Well as far as the untreated drywall its to late now. The Orca is up now. I had tyvek up before for over a year with no problems. If things get moldy smelling I will check and paint if needed.

Ive decided to put up 7K for now. 1 gavita , 2 Horti super hps and 4 Horti Blues. Check the Pics.
